This week's task was handling a potential infestation of rodents. Oh joy! Nothing like having your home be a home for unwanted critters, and, well, eww. Roberto showed up on time, even messaging when he was on his way, listened to my concerns, and took a look around our basement. I was relieved to find out that it did not appear as if we had a big problem, or at least as big of a problem like I had feared, and that he would look outside as well. Once outside, Roberto inspected the house and found the likely point of ingress for mice. It made total sense because the gap in the siding coincided with where the soffit for the ductwork is in the basement. He gave me quotes on the services that were available, ranging from quarterly visits to a one-time sealing of the house, and then gave me some ideas on what I could do to handle some things myself. The service charge was $99, and if you sign up for one of their quarterly services or another one of their offerings, then that service charge is rolled into part of the overall fee. I was super-pleased with that part of the arrangement and I look forward to utilizing their services. Very responsive, easy to set an appointment, and a relatively thorough inspection, all in the span of less than an hour. Great experience!

I contacted Midwest Exterminators because I know they service many of the apartment complexes in Lawrence and are trusted. They quoted me an honest price. They gave me excellent and accurate information beyond the basics. Ottawa is not on their regular route and they explained how it would be scheduled. They were friendly. The exterminator came when he was scheduled. He did exactly what we needed. He was professional, thorough, courteous, explained what he was doing and what he observed, asked appropriate questions, and summarized at the end of each visit. He has been a pleasure to work with through each treatment and we had confidence in his work. The problem was resolved. We are happy with the experience and greatly relieved.

These exterminators act more like inspectors and have caused many tenants to not have their leases…read morerenewed. After my nextdoor neighbor's apartment flooded, she noticed roaches and saw them coming through the cracks in her ceiling, air vents and her electrical outlets.I didn't see any for over 6 months but they apparently didn't fix her problem because I started getting them. Midwest Exterminators started coming monthly and we were supposed to clean all of our kitchen and bathroom cabinets, counter tops and floors out everytime. With limited space, the only place to move all of this to was my living room. Of corse the exterminator reported me for clutter because of this and I received lease violations each time. As a disabled senior all of this moving was quite a burden on me and disrupted my daily living. One tine my brother was there to contain my dog and let him in to spray but I was in my restroom getting ready. He could've come back after he sorayed other apartments but instead called the office to report that I'd blocked his entry. Oh, I also received another lease violation when I opened up my HVAC closet for him to spray in and discovered condensation. I never open that door ( the ac was working fine). Before I had a chance to call maintenance he'd already called management and they issued ne yet another violation. On top of all of this, their spraying was ineffective and they never treated the source. After other tenants and myself reported to both management and the exterminators that there was standing water in the basement. Stay away from this company.

I just want to share what a GREAT experience I had with Ryan Lawn & Tree! On Monday morning, a…read morelarge tree limb fell from our silver maple onto our front yard. I called Ryan--as a new customer, on the recommendation of our neighbors--to see if they could take care of the limb and, if so, how quickly, and how much it might cost. I spoke with Cindy in reception. She was delightful!! She was kind and reassuring and took down all our information. She promised that someone would be able to stop by to give us a free estimate on the job (even if we weren't home) and would email us with the details. Within 2 hours, Jared (their arborist) knocked on our door. He was very professional, friendly and patient in answering all my questions. We talked about the cost estimate and, while he was there, I showed him the brush pile in our back yard that also needed to be hauled away. He was able to give me an estimate for the combined jobs and promised to expedite the scheduling once we formally approved the estimate. Jared was as good as his word; he sent us the estimate before the end of the day, and my husband and I talked about it and were able to send him our approval by the next afternoon (Tuesday). By 12:00 noon on Wednesday, the crew was at our home to take care of both the tree limb and the brush pile. They worked very efficiently, and within a few hours had both jobs done and completely cleaned up the areas. WOW!! From start to finish, the tree limb--and the brush pile--were completely taken care of, at a reasonable cost, by folks who were both incredibly friendly and great at their jobs.
