Business was slow so I guess I got lucky, but he didn't have to put that much effort into helping me, yet he did anyways. Thanks to his help, I was able to narrow the issue down to corrupted drivers, and I met my render deadline in time (practically saved my job). He was kind, genuinely interested in the problem at hand, and did everything he was able to do. I did end up getting a few display port cables, but thanks to his expertise and problem solving skills, I was able to avoid the more expensive troubleshooting options (replacing entire components on my work system). Without his help, I would have missed my deadline, potentially lost my job, and spent several thousand dollars replacing parts that didn't need replacing. Again, I never leave reviews. But in a world of corporations who put the customer last, a small business that puts the customer first deserves every bit of recognition. I have both purchased computers and used their repair service. The most recent experience I had was with Lane at the Thomasville location. My computer failed to install an update halfway through the process and kept giving me a "stopcode" message. I dropped my computer off and explained my problem. Lane diagnosed the problem and installed the upgrade directly in the shop. The charge was nominal and he did not try to upsell me on a new computer. After a brief…read moreconversation he figured it was probably a motherboard issue but would need to do a diagnostic assessment. I asked how much. He said it was free. That's what it should be. Thats honorable. Being on a time crunch, I brought my laptop in and by days end he confirmed what was suspected. He said he could order the part and the total cost would be for the motherboard (was 209.99) and the cost to replace and test it (99.00). I agreed and he ordered it. The part was shipped from Florida. He immediately ordered it, which was at the end of day on Friday. Unfortunately, that part wasn't shipped until the following Wednesday or Thursday which delayed fixing it and resulted in him having to ship it to me and a $32 charge for shipping. Duting the installation of the new motherboard he told me Windows needed updating and there was an issue updating it. I told him I had an issue updating it. He fixed whatever that issue was and successfully updated it. I got the laptop and it shipped with a thick bubblewrapping. It started up but unfortunately, the touch screen wasnt working. We tried troubleshooting over the phone, but it didnt work. Luckily I was headed back in a couple of weeks during Labor day. On Labor Day, I brought the laptop back in and dropped it off. A few hours later, I picked it up with the issue was resolved. It was a loose connection (or not completely connected). He apologized (HUGE). Positives: Free diagnostics. Actual knowledge and not just a "tech". AMAZING communication (text and email). Price. Location. Easy, free parking. Accountability. Negative: Had to bring the laptop back. Considering everything, I would absolutely, 100% recommend them. Any future issues with laptops or other tech, they're my first call. Yeah, bringing my laptop back sucked. Everybody makes a mistake. What's important is how that's handled. It was handled like a champ.
