Headed back to Knoxville after a long day at the Highland Games at Rural Hill/Lake Norman, NC and stumbled into this place for dinner based on prior Yelp reviews. Results? Well our band took 2nd Place in Grade IV and we found the best Mexican restaurant this side of Texas! From the beginning we had high hopes after trying the salsa bar which gives lots of choices with tomato and tomatillo based mixes. We tried them all and enjoyed each one. For entrees Mrs. M has the Steak Picado Burrito and I had the Chicken Molcatete. Both were outstanding, flavorful, and good to the last bite, which took awhile because the servings were huge! The food was amazing. The fajitas for 2 was enough for 4. The steak was tender and well seasoned. The salsa bar is fresh, different, and plenty of variety. Hands down my favorite Mexican restaurant. The portions are huge. The service is always on point. The bean dip that's included with your chips is really good. I typically get one of their burritos, full of flavor and is big enough to make two meals out of. Prices are more than reasonable, definitely recommend giving this a try. read more

Well well. What a disappointment. Went to celebrate an important event! Food was mediocre with lots of filler very little protein and loads of rice!! Sent back one meal. Service was awful after 45 minutes one dinner plate served at a time. Service slow, un friendly, and non apologetic. They could not even get to the table to fill water glasses. There are some really good Mexican joints in Morganton but this is the best. They have huge portions at great prices. We always get the Las Salsas fajitas for two which will actually feed 4 or 5. Great salsa bar and friendly service. Good drink specials too. read more

Say "Adios" to this place before you say "Ola". I ordered a soup and a main course, and they both came out piping hot....at the same time! I told the waiter that the soup should come out before the main otherwise the main course will get cold. He had an amazingly cavalier attitude about it. I told another waiter who took the main course back to the kitchen and put it in a hot oven, complete with the salsa topping.When I finished the soup, I asked for the main course (beef chimichanga) and it had obviously been sitting in an oven. I should have left it in the oven...I received four days worth of sodium in one meal, and was it ever soggy (had to be for sitting in the oven) On the plus side, there is a Wendy's right down the street where you can get some real food. read more

So I came here with a couple of friends the other day after work. Glad I came. This is located right on the Main Street off of 40 heading towards Morgantown NC. The parking was slightly convoluted but otherwise not bad. The parking lot was pretty full but surprisingly we were seated almost immediately even though it was like 730 on a Friday night and we had 5 people in our group. The decor is of your typical overdone tex-mex style with sombreros and other Mexicanesque paraphernalia on the walls. There is a small bar near the kitchen and ample dining room seating. There is a salsa bar in the middle of the dining room that has little tasting cups for you to fill to your heart's content. We were seated conveniently in front of the salsa bar and they serve unlimited chips. Of course, I tried every single salsa up there and got 3 refills of chips. The salsas were quite enjoyable, especially the guacamole one. I ordered a gargantuan beer and a gargantuan margarita. I think the beer was a 32 oz and the margarita was a 44 oz. I finished both and actually was not drunk. So I either have an impeccable liver or they didn't put enough liquor in it. I stand by my excellent liver... Anyway, I got the combination chicken and steak fajitas. There was so much food that I could not finish it. Now, my friends who know me know that this is quite a rare occurrence. I almost ALWAYS finish all of my food. Not only was this tasty, but there was a crap ton of it. Awesome for leftovers. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. He kept our glasses filled and checked on us regularly. I have no complaints about the service or the food. Overall, I think this is a decent place to go for Mexican food. Sure, it's not the best quality or gourmet, but it's solid, tasty eating. I don't recommend coming here if you have congestive heart failure or are on a sodium restricted diet, but it's a fun place that I would visit again. A solid 3.75 stars. read more

I absolutely love Las Salsas. The waiters are always too notch and make sure I'm well taken care of. Quick and friendly service. Their food is always fresh and hot. Fabulous serving portions and price. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who is interested in great Mexican food. We stopped here on our way down the mountain and WOW! The portions were huge - enough for three meals and the salsa bar was the best part - like 9 different fresh made salsas to put on your food. There is a special place in the afterlife for the person who makes the Burrito Pastor. We moved to this area from Texas in October of 2015 fearing the worst for Mexican food. Between Las Salsas and one other Mexican restaurant in Lenoir, we have had our fears allayed. Not only is this restaurant as good as anything we had in the D/FW area, its better and the prices are lower. As fond as I am of their Burrito Pastor, everything else there is just plain excellent. My chicken tacos were good, though my side salad was a little ridiculous (about 2/3 of the plate). The carnitas taco were a huge hit, they were between the really fried carnitas I was used to and sauced pulled pork - good call on their part. House margarita was on the cheapo salt water tasting side (and they automatically brought me the 32oz), and the service was a little lacking, but after trying to eat at two other Mexican restaurants in the area that were either closed that day or had moved elsewhere, we were satisfied with our choice. lots of options for food, and a oddly extensive mixed drink menu. read more

My family and I took a road trip towards the mountains and stumbled upon this place. We took the crowded parking lot as a good sign. My husband had the shredded beef burrito, the kids had the Mexican Pizza kids meal, and I had the spicy (molejecta?) Chicken enchiladas. We also ordered 2 ginormous margaritas Yum! (only $6.50 each!) First, the amount of food for the price is dazzling. We had leftovers, and the total price of our meal was about the same as what 5 guys costs us - so the value is great. However, portion size to price means nothing to me if it isn't food I'd actually want to eat. Luckily, the food was amazing. My wife and I were coming home from the casino. Had to get gas and saw this restaurant. Now I wasn't to hungry because just ate at casino but we like Mexican so we just stopped in for a snack to hold us till we got home. We got seated and got the complimentary chips and dip. The salsa was yellow, yellow salsa I said to my wife. So I asked the waiter if they had a red salsa. He pointed to a counter that 5 different salsa's. So I tried them all. I like hot so I got some of that, which had a bite but still not to much.. got the wife some of they labeled mild.....that was spicier then the hot ones. So I orderer a Chile Relano, I know I spelled it wrong, it was small but I got a huge helping of rice, which was great, and my wife ordered a chicken burrito. It was huge!! Got to looking around and all the plates that they were bringing out were huge portions. I heard then the sizzling of fajitas and the were bring out a skillet with meat heaped up so much it threatened to fall off the skillet. Prices were about the same as most Mexican places. It was a great place to eat. Food tasted good, restaurant was clean. Waiters and waitresses were very pleasant. The only thing that bothered me was the floor. It was so slick, not from grease, that when I sat down, my chair slipped out from under me. Good thing I caught myself. I think it was the chairs that made me slip. I used to love this place but the service has steadily gone down hill to there point I won't come back.. I asked to order, after sitting for 20 minutes and got an eye roll from the waiter. Absolutely hands down the best Mexican restaurant I have ever been to, and I have been to a LOT! Low prices, high quality food that tastes amazing, large servings, excellent service, and just a warm, welcoming atmosphere. It is obvious the kitchen takes pride in the meals they send out. This is the best Mexican food I've had since I was actually in Mexico. It really tastes authentic to me! My boyfriend and I like to get the fajitas for two. The portion size is more like fajitas for four! He eats a lot and we still have leftovers for lunch the next day. The vegetables taste fresh and are not drenched in oil. The chicken is real and not rubbery. The salsa bar is wonderful. Service is great. He likes the 32 ounce beer and I like the patron margarita. Every year, my husband and I go to Morgantown, NC to visit family. We tease them that we only make the trip so we can go to Las Salsas for dinner! The servers are friendly and polite. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced. Each time we've gone, there is a line of people waiting to be seated, but we've never waited more than a few minutes. The chips placed on the table are light and fresh. There is a salsa bar with several fresh choices. The menu is extensive, but we can't resist the carnitas chimichanga. Delicious! Year after year, we enjoy our dinners and leave happy. The only negative is that there isn't one on Long Island. read more
