Wow. Autumn captured us - what a sweetheart. Kenzie served us like we were king and queens. Jordan continued with the awesome service - what a gem. Nathan delivered the best edamame. We will definitely be back. The vibe is awesome!

We decided to check out this new restaurant in Morganton. This restaurant is open every day. We were pleasantly surprised to find such good sushi in Morganton. We enjoyed the Kamikaze roll, the dumplings small bites and Japanese Ceviche. Service was quick and everything was so fresh & delicious. This is a great addition to downtown Morganton.

The Classic Burger with Sweet Potato Fries

We enjoyed a great meal at a new to Morganton restaurant. Our waitstaff, Casper, was very personable and honest about the wait time. I appreciate her stating it was a soft opening and the food might take some time. The total time spent waiting for a table, our meals, and Gabe's to-go order was only about an hour and a half. I would say for a soft opening, the staff did an excellent job! The food was another treat with a tasty burger cooked perfectly at my requested temperature and yummy sweet potato fries. Jeremy and Gabe enjoyed the bento boxes. Both were happy about a really good sushi place with an extensive menu. Jeremy Garrison and I enjoyed some free spring rolls and I can say they are some of the best we've had. They were not greasy, had a great crunch, and served with a chili sauce that was perfectly paired. Great experience, and we will add it to our date night rotation.

I didn't know I needed a cheeseburger with sushi until today The madness in downtown Morganton, NC did not disappoint! From the vibe to the amazing waitstaff to the food itself--everything was excellent. Highly recommend if you're ever in town

Modified Carolina roll

I love sushi and ordered the Carolina roll. However I have food allergies to lemon. I was told the sushi rice has lemon so they did cucumber. The modification was so good. Thank you! Definitely be back!

Hurricane Specialty Roll

First time eating here. Not sure what my server's name was but the receipt said Autumn, so I'm assuming that's her name- Autumn was very sweet! The atmosphere is wonderful. Very well decorated restaurant and feels welcoming. Food is great! A little on the pricier side but worth it for a fancier dinner night. The roll in the picture was about $17 to give an idea (this was one of the more expensive rolls).

Mushroom Swiss burger

Great food and we had wonderful service. The sushi was fresh and the burger was juicy.

Volcano roll, dragon roll, kamikaze roll, and dumplings

Home run ! Best rated spot in the area but you just never know, but wow do I know now. The drinks were perfect. Vibe at the bar is fun, thanks to Kenzie (sp). The Jalapeño Roulette was a simply amazing appetizer. The dumplings and edamame were also really great, miso soup is the best I ever had, and wow was the sushi just as pretty as can be and just perfect in flavor and construction. I couldn't pick my fave if I tried. Easily as good as any spot I have been around the world. I loved, loved, loved it and can't wait to go back !

We had a burger and bento box with California roll both delicious! The citrus cake was very good too. Great service. This restaurant is a little gem. 5 stars for sure.

I didn't realize that this meant that the bartender would also be my server. She was really busy and I felt like some of the other servers could have helped out. I ended up waiting a bit before she was able to get away from the bar to take my drink order. I was there for a hot dog and they had some good options. I ended up choose the Rueben dog which had sauerkraut, swiss cheese, thousand island dressing. I also went with the Dipper fries (after asking what they were). It didn't take long for the food to arrive and I, admittedly, enjoyed eavesdropping on some of the conversations around me. :) It looked like the dog had been sitting under a warmer cause the thousand island was....dry?...looking. I went to pick up the bun and it was already coming apart. Not a great sign. On the bottom of the bun there was a small black spot. My suspicion was mold but I don't know that for sure. I cut it off. The whole hot dog fell apart after the first bite. Lots of wet toppings will do that to an untoasted bun. The hot dog itself was ok but I wanted more thousand island dressing. The Dipper fries were great. They are essentially Fritos scoops but as fries, fries that are cut in a scoop shape, and they are served with cheese sauce. What's not to like? I'd be interested in trying other items on the menu but probably wouldn't go out of my way to return.

The combination of attentive service, high-quality steaks, and a standout bourbon selection makes it a spot worth seeking out in Valdese.[1][2][3] ## Service and Hospitality Austin provided friendly, knowledgeable service, with spot-on recommendations and consistent follow-up throughout the meal, which really elevated the evening. The staff quickly seated the party of four and acknowledged the celebration for the wife's birthday, helping the night feel special from the start. When one filet needed a bit more sear, the owner personally stepped in, oversaw the re-fire, and had it returned to the table cooked perfectly. That level of ownership and responsiveness showed real commitment to **hospitality**. ## Food and Preparation Entrées arrived beautifully plated and cooked to appropriate temperatures, which is especially important at a butcher-driven concept known for its meats. The corrected filet came back with the ideal sear and doneness, reinforcing confidence in the kitchen's skill.[2][1] Portioning and presentation aligned with expectations for a farm-to-table steakhouse, highlighting the quality of their locally sourced meats.[3][1] ## Bourbon Library The bourbon library is a major highlight, offering an impressive selection of hard-to-find bottles that adds a distinctive draw for whiskey lovers. It pairs perfectly with their meat-focused menu and makes Highlands Butchery feel like a destination, not just a neighborhood spot.[4][1][2] Having such depth behind the bar also supports Austin's recommendations, allowing guests to explore pours they may not encounter elsewhere. ## Atmosphere and Noise The only real drawback of the evening was the room volume, which made conversation a bit challenging at times. Given how popular and lively the space can be, some additional noise baffles or acoustic treatments could help deaden the sound and make the dining room more comfortable without losing the energetic vibe. With that one improvement, this experience would easily move from a 4.5 to a full 5 out of 5, especially given the strength of the service, food, and bourbon program!
