I'd be anxious parking in front of the store front. the street is busy for cars to be backing out of the parking. I shared the 10 tacos with a colleague. We liked Las Piñatas with their al pastor tacos. Indoors is welcoming and homey with a friendly supportive staff! We decided on take out as we were tired after work and the tacos took less than 10 minutes for 6 total and the best part is the meat is incredibly seasoned. I felt that they were a bit greasy for my taste but a rich fatty delicious bite nonetheless. The price is pretty reflective of the area so no deviation there. Totally will go here for tacos in a pinch and loved the friendly staff. read more

OMG!!! We finally found the most authentic Mexican food near us! The Mexican restaurants in Linden/Rahway area had been sub par to our standards and today we came across this option in Rahway. My husband is mexican so he is very particular with his coctel. His words were "this is one of the best coctel I've had!". I ordered the steak tacos and the plating, ingredients were just all spot on! The service is quick, server was polite and attentive to our needs. Ambiance is also authentic. The decor, chairs and all. The place is not big but it feels like you're eating at Tia's home you know. Give it a try because I don't know why this place only has less than 4 stars. Food is good. I got the al pastor tacos was a bit greasy but flavorful. This is a small place with 3 parking spaces in front (plenty of street parking) we are big fans of "hole in the wall" eatery. There was a pesty gnat flying around our food. Other than that the place is clean the food is good the prices are average. read more

Doesn't look appealing from the outside. But was craving tacos and decided to try. Ordered pork tacos to go and first things first, they're all wrapped up in aluminum foil, flipped upside leaking oils and sauce all through the paper bag. I passed by walking my dog and decided to order some take out. While waiting for my order outside, I decided to look them up on yelp and was a little worried by the low reviews/lack of pictures. The staff was really nice. There was a young boy working the register. I ordered a chicken torta, beef huaraches, and lengua tacos (comes in 3). This was a good amount of food for two. My bf and I thought each dish was pretty good, especially the lengua tacos that were really tender and flavorful, especially with the grilled onions they gave on the side. The beef huaraches were good too -the beef was not dry and flavorless like some mentioned. The chicken in the torta was on the drier side but I was expecting it from pounded chicken breast. The beans and dressing and nice big toasted torta bread made up for the dryness. I normally get take out from Bianca's Deli and thought Las Pinatas was comparable, if not better. The Las Pinatas torta and tacos were bigger compared to Bianca's. They give you green salsa verde which was great with everything. There was also a red sauce that tastes like a smoked chipotle. Didn't use that one much. Overall, I enjoyed the food and I plan to come back here. Didn't sit down inside but I thought it was quaintly decorated with fresh potted flowers and table cloth on each table. Music was playing in the background. The guacamole is pretty good. Very fresh made to order. Las flautas...mmmm. Yummy. And the tostadas. Won't be able to eat like this for much longer, but it's worth the tummy ache of not being able to stomach much of any food. So good. I hate leaving negative feedback but it's now two strikes for them. Two weeks ago I tried walking in but noticed they only accept cash. Tonight, when I called to order delivery, everything from the menu was deemed obsolete/incorrect. First, several items are only available in threes, ie, tacos. They didn't have any tamales and they likely would have required a purchase of three as well but I only really wanted one. Lastly, the minimum order for delivery on the provided menu is $10 but that's apparently incorrect. $20 is now the minimum order for delivery! Oh well, it was a bust for the second time. I'll try to walk in when I have a few dollars and hope for the best. read more

This is a review for takeout, so I have no idea what the staff is like. We ordered here because of the high ratings; we usually get Mexican from a place just down the street from this one. I was not impressed by my experience here. First of all, the menu online and the menu we got with our food says that tacos are $2 each. When we tried to order a variety of tacos, we were told we had to order in groups of three? So we could only get two kinds of tacos. The carnitas were insanely dry, and the chorizo was dripping grease (but still managed to be dry) and was advertised as spicy but barely had any flavor at all. Though it was not updated on the website, when we got our tacos there was no guac; on the menu we got with our food the word guacamole was crossed out in Sharpie. I ordered a torta de milanesa de res -- I thought it was cool that it has refried beans on it but I was less excited when the ratio of bean to meat was approximately 2:1. My boyfriend got a meal that included chicharrones and they were essentially inedicble -- huge chunks of raw fat. To add insult to injury, they were out of horchata. Two stars because at least on my order everything was edible, and because their corn tortillas were good. It should REALLY be mentioned on the phone or the website or SOMEWHERE that it is cash only. read more

Looking around for a Mexican food , this one is one of the kind place is neat and clean , good ambiance, Spanish soap opera on the tv, and we order Molcajete first time ever - invited to have it again- this is a plate enough for two people with a variety of meats from chorizo to shrimp and adding some cactus , rice and beans and tortillas was a delight, Jalapeño toreado also. The staff here is very nice. Their tacos on the other hand are just ok. I had the chicken, carnitas (pork) and the asada (steak) tacos. The meat on all 3 was super dry, even tho the carnitas was very greasy. The taste was nothing to write home about. That bing said, this is the best Mexican in the area. Sad. read more

Came here while visiting family, the food selection was amazing! But the girl that attended us was new or just didn't care cuz she was very slow and sorry to say stupid lazy! She got everything wrong, but a lady come out and picked her mess. The bill was also wrong, but since it was to our favor we didn't complain. I ordered the filet of fish with garlic, it was so good! I ordered the beef tacos. the beef and tortilla were dry and grilled onions over greasy. 10 min after eating i started having strong stomach ache and nearly throw up. This hasn't happened to me in many years , i am very used to all kinds of food including Mexican food. This is my go to spot for tacos in Rahway. I hate raw onions, so having the side of fried onion & jalapeño makes it amazing. The sopes are also a favorite of ours, we always get the steak ones. The mole is always good here also. We tend to stick to those three things, but have never been disappointed when we get anything else. My kids & I have been coming here since they opened & I can appreciate the level of consistency in their food. This review is mostly for the tacos we tried. We ordered the cabeza tacos, goat tacos, and lengua tacos. The meats were all tender and seasoned well. They're not dry either. It's hard to find cabeza tacos here in NJ. They don't have it all the time so it's best to call ahead. The goat retains that strong distinct flavor that we really like. The price is reasonable for what you get on the plate, 3 tacos, 1 chili, some sauteed onions. Would come back definitely. read more

i wish i could give it no stars. this was absolutely disgusting. i ordered chicken tacos and steak asada tostadas and a side of plantains. the tacos were flavorless and greasy. just straight oil. as were the tostadas, the bean to meat ration was 3:1 , as someone had mentioned before and the meat tastes bland and just gross. they tasted like it was prepared in pinesol. the plantains were good thats it. best part is when i went to reach for a napkin the napkin had lip mark and food on it. that was disgusting i couldnt finish after i saw that. never again! read more

I have tried over and over to give this place a chance to be my Mexican go to. I have unfortunately had to give up on my quest. The problem I have is not with their food so much as their inability to complete an order as requested. Furthermore tonight I had the great dissatisfaction of dealing with their delivery service. I live in the same city as this restaurant and gave a proper address of a single family abode and there was daylight available but yet still the delivery person after not being able to find my home went back to the restaurant where then I received a call from them to ask me for the address again....I still had my patience and laughed it off.... when I did finally receive the order and prepared the table for my pregnant girlfriend and myself to finally sit down and enjoy her craving we where brutally reminded that our order was not executed properly and her meal was ruined by the cheese I specifically and clearly stated "WE CAN NOT HAVE" I was very concise and polite in specifying that there should be no dairy products in our food as we are intolerant to it and went so far as to explain all the products in particular. I was met with a yes sir I understand.... When I called to tell the receptionist about the miscue I was met with " well sir I told them and it's their fault" to which I answered you are them and I was hung up on.
