    Look for the Parrots!!
    Scott L.

The Parrots! Decor: PARROTS! Sadly, not REAL parrots, but paintings, metal, and ceramics.....but I digress...Closes at 2 PM...****CASH ONLY**** Menu and food is simple and cheap. Service is friendly and fast. No parrot music is a disappointment. So was opening about 20 minutes late. This transgression was easy to overlook since I was Lodging next door at Motel 6, AND my coffee mug was never cold or empty!

Asado de puerco and beef enchiladas. Yum!

***NOTICE: CASH ONLY*** Don't let the location scare you off. This is an authentic place well worth the visit. Inside, nothing fancy about the decor, but nice and clean. We've been twice now and were impressed with the food both times. Highly recommend the enchiladas verde, the beef enchiladas and the asada de puerco. Next time we go I am going to order the posole. I kept seeing huge bowls of it being delivered to nearby tables, and it looked delicious. If you like little hidden gems that look like dives, this is the place to go. You won't be sorry.

Tried the asado de puerco for the first time and it was fantastic. The pork meat is tender and red chile sauce was well seasoned and not spicy at all. Highly recommend this plate as it is worth every delicious bite.

    Chicken mole!

Everything we have tried on the menu has been AMAZING - guiso, mole, enchiladas, tostadas, tortas, etc. Their breakfast menu can't be beat! Hours are 7am-2pm, so come early, and expect a line - because it's that good, and well-worth waiting for! We live in the Arlington area, and come as often as we can! Service is always great!! Today we're coming for the first time in 3 months, and our waitress still remembered us and what we like to order!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!

They were stuffed with tender meat and were not excessively greasy. They come with onion and cilantro and three different salsas. Kind of embarrassed to say I ate it all but I couldn't help it. The place has interesting murals and Mexican music and clay plates which made it feel more authentic. Service was friendly although they gave my plate to the person next to me, they went back and brought me my food fairly quickly. The horchata was also very good.

It's easily our favorite place for anything birria. From the birria pizza to the tacos, everything is incredible. The dipping consomé is seriously to die for, and the meat is cooked to absolute perfection. The service is great, and the Chicano art painted throughout the restaurant gives the whole place such a cool, authentic vibe. We always share the combo because you get a little bit of everything, and trust me, it will definitely fill you up. Seriously, get it. This is our number one taco spot in DFW, and after your first visit, it might be yours too.

What is not to love? As we're celebrating our 55th anniversary this month we were presented with a lovely, complementary sparkly rose. As today is Cinco de Mayo a Margarita was in order and the house pour was lovely. We shared a bottle of California Sauvignon Blanc to accompany the Ceviche Tatemado followed by the Tacos de Barbacoa which is the Tuesday lunch special. Both the ceviche and barbacoa tacos were just so enjoyable. The striped bass and octopus ceviche here is a unique preparation that sings in the tangy lime and Serrano vinaigrette in which it is prepared. The barbacoa is so flavorful and tender; and the thin, house made flour tortilla is fried crispy on the flat top before being filled. So good.
