Carnitas plate and quesabirria

Sooo yummy! We ordered the carnitas plate and quesabirria and they were both delicious. Fast service!

Legit Mexican food. Love the vibe and the food is great. We had the tacos, the fajitas, the enchiladas, and the tamales, and all were delicious.

We absolutely loved out Pork Carnitas plate ($13.99). The meat was cooked how we like it...a little crispy, highly seasoned, and tender. Rice, beans, salsa, salad, and corn tortillas did not disappoint. Owner came to our table 3 times to check on us. Decor is standard Mexican style. Bathrooms were fine, no issues. We'll be back again and recommend to our friends too. Nice place to bring out of town guests.

Seriously - this is the place.

This place is legit. Best food you will ever eat from a bus. - Carnitas are flavored well with a slight crisp to the edges. - Hot sauce is fantastic. - honestly, everything tasted authentic Mexican (flavorful beans and rice, meats are flavored with great juices that soak into your tortillas, etc). We liked the one in Red Lodge so much that we also ate at the one in West Yellowstone. Apparently they are all run by members of the same family who are using traditional Mexican recipies.

It's really a bus. But walk in and it's great food.

Wow This is an experience. Found through yelp (THANKS!!) - this small food truck (bus) in Red Lodge, MT was a welcome sight. I had just crossed the mountain, a harrowing trip with hairpin turns and views that were amazing, but very far down, and was so happy to stop for a bite. Located in a bus, you walk in and to the end, where there is a grill and food area. There were two men working the day I was there, acted like owners, but I did not ask, both Mexican I think. I had three tacos, the small kind, one chicken, one steak and one pork (not to be confused with one bourbon, one scotch, one beer), covering all bases. I actually ordered two first, then after I ate those and realized how good they were, and how small, I got a third. Each of those is 1.50. The rest of the menu is typical Mexican, and while it all looked and smelled great, I stuck with the tacos. There were burritoes, tacos, and more, plate meals for all as well, which include beans and the like. The guys were super friendly to me. They have both indoor and outdoor seating here as well. I went outside, it was nice weather, but others stayed inside, with the AC. While I can't say I would come to Montana just to visit this bus again, I can say that if I'm ever in Montana again, I would make it a point to try to get here.

1st time visiting Red Lodge and had a craving for Mexican food. Read a few good reviews about this place so decided to stop. I looked at the menu online and asked the cashier (young, dark hair, w/ glasses) if the menu was the same. She said "Yes." I asked for the #48 (3 sopes) and was told abruptly, "We don't have that." I was bummed! So I chose something else to my dismay. I then asked if they have the churros I saw on the menu and again, was met with "We don't have those." The inside was stuffy and hot. They had this industrial sized fan to cool off the outdated and worn dine in area! The cashier was rude, the order took 25 minutes, there were flies all over, and the food was bland! Hey Las Palmitas, update your menu and hire better staff! I will not return!

Probably one of my favorite Mexican restaurants ever. I get their soft tacos almost everyday I'm here visiting!

Really good Mexican food in Red Lodge. Outdoor and indoor seating. Seems to be a pretty new business bit they'll do well.

This place is REALLY good. Best Mexican food for 200 miles in any direction. I'll give em 5 stars when I'm not eating off a paper plate.

The ciders are consistently great and we always make a point to stop in when we're in town. However, visiting in the off-season can be tricky. When we were there, only one employee was working the bar. We ordered a beer and a cider flight, but after we ordered several more customers came in and lined up. The bartender understandably tried to take care of everyone, but ended up serving at least six new arrivals -- pouring beers and running payments -- while our order never came. After about 20 minutes we had to leave, which was really disappointing because we were genuinely looking forward to it. This isn't a complaint about the staff -- she was clearly doing her best -- just a heads-up: if you visit during slower months, be prepared for limited staffing and longer waits (and possibly no food service). We'll definitely still come back... just maybe during busier season next time.

I was leaning towards something mediocre put there to drain the pockets of a would-be thristy, or perhaps hungry, passerby... We drove through the hoards of people to the outskirts, where the crowds thinned & the parking opened up to a large lot. Cool. So far, so good. The red building was easy enough to spot & there was music playing from a tent in the field. We headed for the building door from the back of the building and found ourselves sniffing the air... could that be house smoked meat? Yes, yes, it is... and making us walk by a smoker is a sure-fire (pun intended) way to get us to buy your food along with your beer! On to the bar we went, where we were met by an energetic 1 day a week worker. (We know because she mentioned it, we weren't THAT nosey!) She gave us a run through & we ordered our BOGO brews & an order of pulled pork tacos with black beans to split. Were they spicy tacos, no. Were they on flour instead of corn, yes. Was the pork tender, juicy, flavorful & smoky... YES! The black beans were a great side choice if I must say so myself & both paired well with our beer options. Dually Double IPA in at 4.5 for Kel - n/a from me Dog Pull Porter in at 3.75 from Kel & 4 from me Unfortunately, the only to-go option then was growlers & that didn't work for us at the time. Next time through, perhaps it will or crowlers (other options) will be available. We would indeed go back. On paying, they did miss the bogo beer & offered us our choice of refund and recharge correctly or 2 free drinks next visit. As we haf no idea when we'd be back, we sadly had to opt for the refund. I want to emphasize that it was NOT an international overcharge & it was immediately corrected.
