The wonderful Czechmate Pilsner from Red Lodge Ales!
Alden C.

Steve and I had Red Lodge Ales Brewing's beer recently and had their Czechmate Pilsner and simply loved it! We are heavily biased towards pilsners anyway buy this well made on made us just boost our fondness for them even more. Flavor highlights with this refreshing beer are clean, sweet and hoppy. The beer goes dow smoothly as wel which is alway a plus. Very good start with this brewery and ther pilsner and whenever an opportunity arises I'd like yo try some of their other beers and hopefully it's as positive of an experience as the pilsner we had!

Option for gluten free bun listed. But actually "we've never had that".

Visiting Red Lodge with family from Columbus, MT. Family includes three kids, and some gluten free people. Family members have had Red Lodge Ales before, and enjoyed the beer. Looked at menu online ahead of time. Confirmed gluten free options available along with cider, and kid friendly. Tried to order a burger with gluten free bun. Waitress responded "we have never had that option", after pointing out the gluten free option printed on the menu, and asking her to check, she returned stating there was no gluten free bun. Did not offer alternatives, or an apology. In fact, was rather unfriendly. Limited alternative gluten free options other than salad. Small kids menu that did not include cheeseburger option or milk. We visited during "off season", place was moderately busy, but not bustling. Food and drinks we did order were fine, but did not get a friendly welcoming vibe. Would likely not return.

Mac & Cheese with pulled pork

We had 2 flights (ipas/reds and pale/fruity/sour). Our server was very helpful with our choices. We sat inside and there is lots of fun decor as well as a variety of table typeThe Mac and cheese with pulled pork was tasty as well as the Cuban sandwich.

Pretzel & beer cheese. 10/10 very good!

We had a wonderful experience here. Our server was very attentive and kind. The beer variety was great -- we all got flights with a variety of beer and cider options. I personally loved the Enjoy the Ride hazy IPA. The food is classic brewery / pub food -- wings, burgers, sandwiches, salads etc. All really yummy and fresh! And the vibe was warm and cozy. We would definitely be back.

Pretzel - wouldn't get again

Great beers/ciders, great atmosphere, and great customer service! We have been here several times now and each time we have had a great experience! They always have really tasty beers to try. We love the shandy! We have done their beer yoga in the summer that is very fun as well! The food is also normally really good! The only thing I haven't liked was the pretzel as it was really dry and hard to eat. Would recommend the pulled pork or the hellroaring sandwich!

Enjoying the ride

Service, wings, and beer were top notch! Can't wait to go back to try other things on the food menu.

One Legged Magpie - Meatball & pickled pineapple skewers, fries and house made pickles

One Legged Magpie is truly a gem and an unexpected culinary delight in Red Lodge. I wasn't quite…read moresure what to expect as we walked in, but from the moment we entered, I knew we had stumbled onto something special. The interior was a little on the dark side, but the warm, inviting vibe pulled us in. We navigated our way to the main section, finding two wonderfully comfortable plush blue chairs next to the bar. The small details immediately caught my attention--each table adorned with fresh flowers in charming vases, adding a thoughtful and personal touch. Our server was genuinely sweet and attentive, setting the tone for a relaxed and enjoyable evening. I did notice they have an outdoor patio out back, but the atmosphere inside was too good to pass up. We began with the spring pea salad--an absolute standout--featuring creamy ricotta, crisp snap peas, fresh mint, and pistachios. It was fresh, crunchy, and beautifully balanced. We added a slice of toasted ciabatta bread, topping it with the salad to make our own bruschetta-style bites, which turned it into a perfect little dish. Next came the spice-roasted carrots, which were every bit as flavorful as they were beautiful, followed by the pork belly barbecue with a blueberry barbecue sauce. The sweetness of the sauce paired beautifully with the rich pork belly, creating a dish that was both comforting and elevated. For drinks, I had the Jayne Mansfield--a bright, refreshing, and totally unique cocktail--while my mom enjoyed the Lauren Bacall, which she loved. The restaurant's name comes from a fun and memorable story: the owners were discussing their plans to open the restaurant when they spotted a one-legged magpie. It stuck--and now it's part of the charm of the place. One Legged Magpie delivers on every level: warm atmosphere, thoughtful touches, incredible food, and a sense of place you won't soon forget. If you're in Red Lodge, this is a must-visit spot.

My husband thoroughly enjoyed the pizza special (not sure of the name but it had an egg over easy in the center). It too was delicious. What a fun spot. And we were THOSE people, unintentionally. We showed up 15min before the kitchen closed (not knowing there was or expecting there to be a kitchen) and 45min before the brewery itself closed. I can't lie, we've been crazy road-tripping it & we were, again, excited when they mentioned food. I'm not sure if the kitchen staff were as excited as us, but they didn't let on that we were putting them out, even with such a late order. We did try to be accommodating- I went so far as to say "give me anything you need to get rid of." Of course, the barkeep had already taken our orders by that point & I guess that was that. Chicken fried steak for me & a brisket wrap for the hubs - we could have (& probably should have) split either & would have had plenty to eat. We both took food with us to the hotel & we had leftovers for breakfast (2-fer). The food came up fast & the flavors were good. I appreciated the non-traditional take on the chicken fried steak. No country gravy here... she ate like schnitzel which went well with the beer! Speaking of, on to the reason for stopping, beer. I can't stress enough how much I appreciate not being made to feel like I shouldn't be there- even being encouraged to enjoy both the food & beer, despite the late arrival. Kudos!

I think a brewer or owner was in a table talking on the phone the whole time. The beer was 4/5. The side salad was big 5/5. The sandwich/ wraps were 3/5. A bit too much liquid or slightly chewy chicken. The Thai wrap was more like sesame. I'm a huge fan of the Mule Kicking Rye. It was the spiciest beer ever. I would have bought a 6 pack if they had them. The IPAs weren't my favorite. the wheat ipa was the best of them. The flying peanut butter stout in the can is their best overall.
