Our server, Ben, was great. This was my first time here and as a vegetarian it is sometimes hard to eat out. Decided to try Bogart's after returning home to MT since we were visiting Red Lodge. Host was prompt, as well as the server. The restaurant has booths along one wall with tables in the middle and towards the front windows. The ambiance is casual and was not overly noisy. My wife and I were able to carry on a conversation without having to talk loudly. The menu is simple. Mostly "Mexican Food" with other American staples, like burgers & pizzas. Wife got the Mahi Tacos. I got the Bogart's Combo with a relleno, an enchilada, and a taco with rice and frijoles. The beans were good, as well as the rice. The relleno and enchilada were soggy and were not up to Sonoran-style quality. The chicken enchilada tasted like lightly seasoned chicken out of a pot, like chicken soup as opposed to chicken cooked in the enchilada. I had the opportunity to return to Bogarts after a 20 year hiatus and it was even better this time! I first want to thank Adriana and Dawson for the incredible service and menu/bar recommendations. Both were spot on! Dont leave there without trying the sour cream enchiladas and enchilada sampler! Each one has its own distinct flabir and sauce. Save yourself some time and money by going elsewhere. The best way to describe this was cafeteria style food. Everything very bland. We had nachos that were just chips and veggies, lots of black olives and salad but hardly any beef. We had pizza that tasted worse than the kind from a gas station. We also tried the quesadillas and they tasted like boiled chicken that had only enough cheese on it to keep it stuck to the tortilla. Now that I have made my comparison earlier in the review, I would actually have preferred cafeteria food. Waitress was very nice though and they did take money off of my bill but regardless, I was one and done. There were 3 other tables so it was not a rushed meal or anything else to blame it on. You want to like this place.... Good layout and great music. Kinda cool bar and generally pleasant staff. Yet service was poor on what appeared to be an averagely busy night. After our seating and getting some beverages, we had someone else deliver our food and never saw our server again until we flagged her down nearly 15 minutes after finishing the enchilada we were sharing. Unfortunately, the service was actually better than the food and drinks. Perhaps worst margaritas either of have ever had. Enchilada was really not edible. Can chicken even get that grey?!? Terrible pizza. Since it took so long to get it, we thought perhaps it would be fantastic. Soooo wrong. The bottom on the "traditional" crust was so thin and floppy that it plopped over ones fingers when taken off the serving dish. It could at least have been warm once it arrived. But no. We ventured to Red Lodge on New Year's Eve for dinner and the movie. We were greeted right away and the young man quickly cleaned a table large enough for our group. The options were endless and everything sounded so good. We ended up with a collection of Mexican food and burgers. We never had an empty glass, empty bowl of chips, or empty salsa. While visiting family from out of town we stopped in at this restaurant on our way up the mountain. The huckleberry Margarita cannot be missed and our Server Ben was amazing. he offered prompt service and recommended the shrimp tacos that were delicious. Amazing, authentic food. Margaritas and sopaipillas are to die for. We stopped in on a Wednesday evening and got the last table. Margaritas are a single or double, and those who crave huckleberries will enjoy the huckleberry margarita. Vegetarians can score with a dinner-sized black bean quesadilla and guacamole. We asked for sopaipillas with honey for dessert and they almost wrecked me they were so good. The servers and bartenders are on top of everything and so much fun!! Well worth the trip!! read more

This place is amazing. I love the food they offer. Everything is unique and delicious, along with drinks as-well. Service tends to be a little show, espeically around summer, but the food is definitely worth the wait. Space can get crowded as-well, but they do have many seating options (bar, booth, high tables, low tables) along with music in the background. Overall this place is amazing and I love the food. read more

...and there I am again put in the middle of somewhere. We stumbled into Bogart's as it is quite literally one of "Grandpa's favorites" and of course we were expecting bland and ordinary. But that. Is where we'd be wrong. Red Lodge is in and of itself a forgotten 1800s mining town with a storied history of mine accidents turned into a local ski resort. A place to come and relax. To forget about the madness that has lured us into the twenty first century. A place to just connect with people and enjoy! Bogart's however is a step above and beyond. Not just because of the service. Not just the flat out GREAT food. Not even the kitschy cool vibe. Ml But because of the people. Our country has forgotten how to be good to one another. To reach out and be selfless and share themselves, their stories, and the joy that is our shared heritage. Here it is not forgotten, but is commonplace as snow in the winter or sand on a beach. Our friend Jennifer met us here and not only wove stories of the ghostly encounters to be had here (Yes, this town has a few ghosts.) but took the time and attention to make us feel as though we were treasured guests. I am so glad that this place not only exists, but that there are great people like the team here. Not many places on earth deserve a 6 star rating. But this is mine. We've lived in Billings for forty years. We've gone to red lodge and eaten at Bogarts many times. We did it again this past Sunday, for the first time in about a year. We were terribly disappointed. The food quality isn't what it once was. Now it's a commercial Mexican food, and quite poor tasting as well. I had a stomach ache for three days afterwards. Flavor, well there just was none. And the service. We had to wait long periods to order, get our order, and anything afterwards. The waitress was far busier visiting others than waiting on tables. Needless to say, Bogarts isn't what it once was. It's now pretty bad. Go to taco bell or taco Johns, it's cheaper, better service and much tastier. read more

First let me start with saying the staff was very nice, and let me end with saying the "world famous" margarita just wasn't good. From a side table we watched several ingredients go into the production of this drink (which included only a dash of the top shelf tequila we chose). After tasting it we thought perhaps it was just the lack of tequila so we ordered a shot of the top shelf tequila to add to the margarita. Nope. Tacos for dinner! I think it was the queso that bumped this review up to four stars because I could not get enough if it! The tacos were pretty good - standard Tex Mex but flavorful and hot and I ate every last bite. Appreciative of the modifications they made for my vegetarian daughters (beans on the tacos). The margarita wasn't quite up to the proclamation on the window of being world famous in my opinion - a little too sweet - and next time I'd try the huckleberry lemonade. It's pretty loud in here but it's a fun vibe. And like everywhere else in this town, the staff are so friendly. read more

This is my second time eating here . I do NOT like refried beans . Both times , I ordered and made a point of "NO beans!" Both times I got Beans all over my plate . Tonight we went here for a birthday . There was 4 of us. I specially ordered NO BEANS , only rice. I had the chili rellenos. They were place on top of refried beans ! I was very disappointed . I will not go here again if they can't get my order correct. There was only two other tables in there tonight. My bill was over $100, for my birthday, it was a BIG disappointment! This place is wonderful! We drove into Red Lodge after a Beartooth Highway drive, ending up in town at 8:45pm. Not much is open at that time - especially in the off season. Luckily we found Bogart's on the main street. They were so friendly and welcoming. They put out 3 bowls of chips and 5 salsas for 5 of us. We got their fried pickles (fantastic!), guacamole (fresh and yummy), quesadilla, coconut shrimp tacos and a shrimp enchilada a friend and I were splitting. The food was very hot...and great! (Like, so hot we truly couldn't touch the plates unlike most places that say "careful, hot plate!" but the plates are fine. At Bogart's the plates were actually too hot to touch.) Service was wonderful. Portions large. All in all can't recommend it more! read more
