Elotes: these people are not cheap!! They are very generous with their sizes and toppings. Great place!
Sal S.

The welcoming atmosphere is wonderful! The selection is unseen here in Texas for Botanas (snack food!) The Elote, street corn was delish! They don't skimp on flavorings and they don't give you a whole bunch of water the corn was cooked in. We had the mangonada too! It took me back to San Diego where the local stores have dozens of toppings for their chamoy filled dreams. We stayed traditional but you can get many types of fruit cups. I can't wait to go back and try an assortment of Paletas! Please go the women were so nice trying to practice Spanish for him. This is a place where the local Hispanics come and enjoy their favorite treats so be patient with their language skills they will not disappoint you!

This is my favorite mangonadas location. I've tried many and this is definitely the best one!! I love how they have white corn!! Super yummy!

Fresh fruits! Nice and clean shop! My cousin was on a quest to find some fresh fruits (cut mango pieces) during our Texas roadtrip and we went to so many different shops to try them, this was by far the cleanest one we found and the portion's great for sharing too! They have cut mangoes and will toss it in some spicy sauce to add flavor. You can pick other fruits as well and make your own fruit cup :) Super friendly staff, highly recommended!

Mangonada!

Ok, so why did it take me so long to finally discover this place. I tried the mangonada from this location and it was amaaazing! I'm obsessed. The mangonada was perfect in every way imaginable. The smoothie was smooth and sweet which balanced really well with the sour and spiciness from the chamoy and tamarind. Best part of all, it was topped with some ripen and juicy mango pieces. If you like mango and enjoy a sweet and spicy dessert, try yourself a mangonada here! Honestly, such an amazing treat to have on a very hot day. This location is pretty spacious inside. It's located in a strip mall and have lots of parking. They also sell a variety of ice cream popsicles. I haven't tried but they look just as yummy! Don't make the same mistake I made which was not discovering this place earlier. Besides, you deserve a treat

The Pecan Joy is my new favorite! Texas pecans alongside toasted coconut and dark chocolate flakes in a creamy coconut base. The scoops are very very tiny for the price, but it was a great little treat. I also loved tasting the Texas Sheet Cake: their interpretation of this classic cake combines a swirl of decadent chocolate-pecan icing with delicate chocolate ice cream, but it was just too rich for me. Great spot that I'm sure we will frequent again soon!

They are always clean, cozy, with friendly staff who don't mind if you need to sample multiple flavors before making a decision. Speaking of the flavors, they're pretty unique, rotate out, and there's usually two vegan options to choose from, so it's great if you are out with a group of mixed diets. It's a little pricey, but you'll get higher end ingredients than at a smaller ice cream shop. For the vegan flavors, Chocolate Chocolate is pretty solid, but I prefer the Pecan Joy when it's available. The Grapefruit Paloma has a boozy kick that is delightful as well. I'm told the Texas Sheet Cake is really good and so is their Caramel Salt Lick.

A milestone. A monument. A celebration of a man whose legend looms over Austin like a slightly tipsy bat. Nate Gardog & Co bravely ordered what was advertised as an Oreo cake meant to serve 4-5 humans. What arrived, however, was not a cake. It was not even a mini-cake. It was... a cupcake wearing platform shoes. A baked good masquerading as something it clearly was not. The bag was on us, literally and spiritually. Shane--who, need I remind you, is an Austin icon, a man whose culinary preferences are practically carved into the walls of Barton Springs--was forced to confront this fraudulent pastry. And let me tell you: no man deserves this. Not at 38. Not ever. If the staff at Amy's were the true clairvoyants we believed them to be, they would have inherently known Shane's one, true, universal flavor: Funfetti. Classic. Chaotic. Confetti for the soul. Yet here we stood. Funfetti-less. Candle-less. Hope-less. As the final insult, there were no candles. Not even a sad, melted tea light from the back. Nothing to blow out except disappointment. In conclusion: the vibes were off, the cake was tiny, and Shane--our dear, beloved Shane--deserved better.

Located on 6th Street, Jim Jim's is surprisingly accessible with parking spots available out front and just around the corner. It's not a sitdown place so keep that in mind for your stop, but the line does move fast and they are very efficient. There's a good variety of flavors and things they serve from italian ice to ice cream and shakes. We opted for a strawberry italian ice with condensed milk on top. From the first bite we were in heaven. The flavor is very thorough which is not always the case for Italian ices where it can sometimes be a bit muted. Every single bite of this was packed with flavor. They also carve out a bit of the middle to put the condensed milk which makes every bite much more equal than if it was just placed at the top. This was by far one of, if not the best, Italian ices we've ever had. We would very much recommend it to anyone in the Downtown area looking to cool off.

By far, passion fruit was my favorite out of the 3, the other 2 were refreshing, but not personal favorites. If your particular about flavorings the definitely have some artificial taste to them so choose wisely. It's a cute hole in the wall shop for a grab and go water ice. So many flavors to choose from, hope they open back up soon so I can try some more!
