You would think all the great cocktail bars would be in the heart of the city, but the Clear Lake…read morearea has some major contenders. Getting to this area from Pearland is much easier than heading into Houston so I was more than happy to come here. I've been here a couple of times and the most recent visit brought me and a party bus full of friends here on a Saturday night. The place gets busy but parking hasn't been an issue on any of my visits. It's a narrow bar that may seem tight, but it keeps going towards the back with more seating as well as a spacious patio. Customer service is always great and the bartenders know their stuff here. They have a pretty extensive drink menu here and there is something for everyone's preferences. They have a long list of cocktails and they can make you anything you want as well. The staff are experts here. They also have an impressive bourbon collections with about 200 kinds to choose from. Along with their cocktails, they have a long list of martinis. I love a good martini and here they have so many options. You can't go wrong with my favorite espresso martini, but the one that wowed me here was the Cucumber Patch. Cucumber flavor profile is not typically something I seek out, but I was in the mood for something refreshing and this was suggested to me. Get it and thank me later. As far as food goes, they have a separate BBQ business on site that sells some food. Don't sleep on the Bay Area if you are looking for a nice cocktail. This place will quickly be one of your favorites. I will surely be back.

I've driven by a countless number of times, and you'd never really know it's there. But walking in, you immediately get that local dive bar kinda vibe in the best way possible. I met up with some friends here for a chill drink after work, and to our surprise it was karaoke night! I have to applaud the regulars here because they can really SING! But don't be shy if you can't, they were welcome to everyone going up for a song. As far as drinks go, I had the Alimony. I was sold on it because it's gin, guava juice and elderflower liquor. Balanced, not too sweet, and had a little bit of sparkling effervescence. Pair that with a shot or a beer, and we were having a great time catching up with old friends. I don't remember our bartender's name, but she gave us great service. Overall 10/10 recommend the Davenport Lounge Clear Lake if you're looking for where the locals go, trust me they know best.

I wasn't overly hungry, but I certainly ate my body weight in complementary chips and salsa. You are given a basket, red and green salsas, and refills for both. The green was especially delicious The exterior looks to have had a facelift over the years, and the interior is well decorated. There's also plenty of parking. We didn't have to wait at all for a table, and it was fairly busy As I mentioned, there are the majority of classic mexican delicacies on the menu, and some TexMex adjacent dishes, but again, I'm not the expert. I was in the mood for tacos, and that's what I went with. There are several proteins to choose from, and you can order tacos à la carte. I wasn't sure how big the tacos were (if they'd be street tacos sized), and I chose flour tortilla instead of corn tortillas, and the tacos were much bigger than I expected. My friend was in the mood for breakfast, and they offered that menu even though it was in the afternoon There is a full bar, but we didn't have any alcoholic drinks. They have jarrijitos and other drink options Everything tasted great, and I was surprised just how affordable my meal was. I think I walked away paying close to $8 for my 2 tacos Some tips: This is NOT TexMex. If you're a fan of Mexican delicacies this is a great spot for you. It also helps if you have someone who speaks Spanish. You can get by in English, but the majority of servers speak Spanish, and it definitely adds to the authentic ambiance Cheers!!

I used to get four with my appetizer queso flameado and now you get a maximum of three with an extra charge for more. The waitress mentioned that the owner reduced the quantity because too many tortillas were being thrown away. Honestly, at those prices, that should not be an issue. Other than that the food is great!

You have an option to get it stuffed with shrimp, crawfish etoufee, beef, or chicken. The waitress recommended shrimp so I went with that. They give you complimentary chips and salsa. I wish the salsa was less watery and more spicy but I still ate it up. They also give you a bottle of green salsa but that one wasn't that spicy either. I think I saw some tables have another darker red salsa but they didn't give me that one. The plate comes with som rice, refried beans, and 4 tortillas with your choice of corn or flour. The shrimp were huge and full melty cheese a good flavor. I basically made tacos out of bite of the fried avocado. Very creamy with a slight outer crisp, but it breaks pretty easily. After awhile it got harder to eat because of the richness of the avocado. This was a very heavy meal and put me to sleep afterwards

It's very colorful (literally) place inside, and it took a while before I could look away. Food and service were good. Chips and two salsas very tasty. Note: This was a draft, and I forgot what we had to eat. Probably a relleno if they had it, or a torta, my two go-tos. Mango margarita was very tasty (mango is one of my favorite fruits, and a cool surprise (literally).
