Found this place on yelp. Came to eat here my first visit went great polite people fast turn around. However today I ordered a burrito asked for no beans. Yet they still put beans no big deal I go back ask for the burrito I paid for which was 17$. The owner or manager was very polite got me a replacement. However I guess the cook messing up made the cook mad. Because when I got my burrito it was full of sour cream on the side which made it a nightmare to eat. Other thing is they only give you one napkin. Anyways its a good place to eat but if they mess up your order make sure not to tell them or the cooks will hate you. Randomly decided to try this place out yesterday as I drove into the little shopping area parking lot. The service was pretty good. There was a guy that was very friendly and helpful and there was also a woman who would occasionally come by to ask if everything was ok so that was nice. There's also a chip and salsa bar which is definitely a plus although the salsas are just ok. I got the carnitas plate as well as a horchata, a lengua burrito to go, my 5 year old got a cheese quesadilla and we had no complaints. Definitely did not live up to reviews- there was nothing "asada" about the carne asada, seared and boiled is more like it. same for the chicken, we asked for shredded and it was just giant boiled chunks that were still pink in the middle. Salsa de aguacate was bland, salsa de tomatillo super sour. To top it off the guy at the register was not at all knowledgeable and we had to explain their own menu to them to get what we asked for. Craved Mexican food the other day so we stopped here, after passing it a few times in previous trips. The portions are amazing. Ingredients are fine, and they do a satisfactory job of preparing the food. The prices are very reasonable which is probably one of the greatest appeals of dining here. There is also outdoor seating. Honestly ok. The restaurant is nice and clean appearing. There is only one cash register without a clear place to stand in line which was a little strange. I ordered three tacos - pastor, lengua, cabeza. The pastor was EXCELLENT. The lengua and cabeza didn't really have much flavor. I think it may have needed more salt. The tortillas were warm and delicious and their salsa was nice - not too hot but not without heat. I may have not ordered all the right things here - but I would go again for the pastor. Delicious tacos. Sometimes all you have to do is take one bite and you immediately realize that the people making the food care. They care about making delicious food and serving it right. The chile verde taco here is probably the best chile verde I've ever had. The pork was tender and juicy and the sauce had a perfect balance of acidity and spice. Simply delicious. Their carnitas weren't bad either. Not the best ever, but probably the best in a year or two. Crispy, juicy, and with just enough fat. I also tried the al pastor and the lengua tacos were also delicious, though not quite reaching the heights of the other two. Definitely worth a visit. After a long day exploring Monterey we stopped in here to get some takeout since it was right around the corner from the place we where staying. The restaurant was very clean welcoming, and had a pretty good crowd inside considering we showed up a little late in the evening. The staff was very nice, and they have great customer service. They even filled up some bags of chips for us at the "self serve" salsa bar. Their salsa bar was wonderful by the way, some of them get trashed at taquerias especially when it gets late. They keep theirs clean and maintained. I really liked the ladles they had in the salsa too, they made pouring the salsa in the little take out cups so easy. I ordered the carne asada wet burritto. It was ok, not the best I've had. The carne asada could have been flavored more, it tasted pretty bland. My wife ordered chicken however and that was great! This place a keeper. Enjoy our weekend in Monterey and was craving for Mexican food. We found Las Cazuelas from yelp and decided to go there. We ordered fish tacos, beef tacos plates and super beef nacho. I was so happy to see the salsa and chips bar with all kinds of salsas, jalapeños, fresh radish, etc. The food came out the kitchen super fast and hot. I like this location better than the one in Marina. The workers appear happy and are very cordial. The restaurant's layout is functional and there is plenty of parking as it is in the same plaza as Grocery Outlet. The restroom has touchless soap and paper towels dispenser. The decor is warm and the restaurant is clean. The food is consistent and came out quickly. Portions are generous and the meat is tender. I had the carnitas taco, steak fajitas, and steak fries. They have a salsa bar with help yourself servings of tortilla chips. I will say that the avocado sauce at this chain is not as tasty as other ones I have tried. So yesterday it officially started. Las Cazuelas is now my fave Mexican food spot on the Monterey Peninsula! It is in Seaside in the same little shopping plaza as Chase and Grocery Outlet. It is an unassuming little gem hidden next to popular restaurants but does it pack a punch on budget and quality! Today is my fiancé and I's second evening in a row. Let me tell you about Perla! She is the cashier, server, and all around super worker at this place! She has a huge smile, helpful, and oh so full of energy! Also, just met Miranda and she is so sweet checking on us and other guests consistently! The cooks are Gonzalo and Ricardo and their food is something special! We had shrimp & beef fajitas, carne asada tacos, a breakfast burrito, chips, and there's even a condiment bar with the traditional guacamole, green salsa, pico de gallo, pickled jalapeños with carrots & onions, and etc... just to name a few. I stopped by late to pick up food to go after a long day of work.  I ordered two wet chicken super burritos.   My wife and I sat there 10 minutes and finally went to check on our order.  We were the only people in the restaurant.  Everyone was just standing around chatting and did not bring us our food that was just sitting there. We got home, and when we cut into our burritos, we could not find any chicken.  We maybe got half an ounce of chicken each.   I have always been happy with the portion sizes and food quality, but after this experience I will sadly have to drop this off our list of places to go in this area. read more

Went there one time on a strong recommend from a friend. Why is that some restaurants act like they are doing you a favor to wait on you? I went in early and went straight to the counter to order. Very few customers in store. The cashier was doing some side work a few feet away, and engaging in conversation with another employee (manager/owner?). No greeting. After may two minutes she sauntered over to the counter, no smile, looking down, and said, "What would you like?". No smile. No greeting. Just a sullen ok-what-do-you-want-from-me type attitude. It shouldn't make a difference, but it does. The breakfast burrito I ordered was HUGE. But so was the price at $13.29 out the door. Would love to say a half sized BB at half the price. I went the other day starving I was on my phone looking for good spots to eat I saw this place and it's pictures and let me tell you worst fucken food ever. I order 2 tacos de pastor and a chicken quesadillas and a burrito. The tacos didn't have flavor but I was hungry so I just but hella salsa over it to finish them. Got home to eat the chicken quesadilla I couldn't even finish Jesus how can you mess up a quesadilla. My boyfriend let me try his burrito I feel so bad for taking him there I was so embarrassed.
