Love the homemade tortilla. The chile verde is always my go to whenever I come here. So glad they finally have one in Marina! Check it out if you want a quick bite to eat!

I've been eagerly waiting for this El Charrito location to open ever since it was announced. I've been to both the downtown Monterey location as well as the Salinas location, and I can confirm that this one hits the spot just like the rest. There's something magical about those tortillas that elevate the burrito up and above any other spot in town. The burritos are also the perfect size to be handheld (and you can pocket one for the beach). I think today might be their first (non)official soft opening (2/19/2026) because we were able to pop in and pop out with a burrito in no time. I haven't been to an El Charrito without a line before! I expect this place to (soon) be frequently visited by everyone in the neighborhood as well as people driving by. Service is quick, friendly, and efficient. The interior is clean and well organized, and there's plenty of seating outside on their patio. Wishing them great success!

I come here multiple times a week and it's been great until the last two when they started using cheaper cut of meat and all you get is ligaments that you can't even chew. I really hope they stop doing this because they'll lose customers over this. We're supposed to get food that we can eat not spit out.

If you've been to the original Salinas location, you know the legend--and I am so happy to report that the Marina location at The Dunes lives up to the hype The star of the show is, and always will be, the handmade flour tortillas The new spot in Marina is clean, modern, and has a great outdoor seating area if the weather is nice. The service is fast, though it still gets busy during the lunch rush. Go check it out

Unfriendly service, 2 small slices of avocado and charged a few bucks for it, better service in Salinas.

Price was reasonable and tortillas pretty good. Carne asada and carnitas were tasteless. How do they do that? Salsa was also tasteless.

We did not take photos because we were so hungry. Everything was delicious! For dessert we had churros with ice cream and the flan. I wish I were a local so I could eat here more often and try everything in the menu!!! If in Monterey drive to Marina it's so worth the drive, in my opinion. We would have eaten there again today but it is closed in Sundays.

I ordered the chicken flautas and a beer, and we also shared an order of chips and guacamole, which were delicious. Overall, the food was fresh, flavorful, and well prepared. My biggest gripe and the reason I can't give them five stars is their pricing and some of the extra charges. My cousin, who also ordered the chicken flautas, asked for a little extra lettuce with her meal, and they charged her $3 for it. We all thought that was pretty unusual and it left a bad impression. Later, we asked for some "hot sauce", and they brought us their homemade salsa instead. It was delicious, but we were surprised to find a $2 charge for it as well. That also left us with a negative impression. While we genuinely enjoyed the food, we felt the prices were already on the high side for what we received. Combined with what felt like unnecessary nickel-and-diming over small extras, the overall value just wasn't there for us. We'd still say the food is good, but the pricing kept this from being a five-star experience.

My very first job was with my mom at a dentist office and we were next to the Prunedale location. The food was spot on to their other locations, same recipes, same service, etc. and the food taste authentically the same all these years later, if you want like fancy fusion style food, don't come here if you wanna eat some food like you're going to your Tias house come here I didn't say like your grandma's house. I tried the el pastor and she had the shredded beef. Our server was friendly, and quickly provided everything we asked for. The food arrived quickly also. My burrito was super dry, the meat was dry and chewy, lacked flavor. I hardly had any sour cream or guac. Thankfully my friend had ordered a side of guacamole so we shared that. Her shredded beef burrito was much better than mine, still not great either. In the past I've ordered their carnitas plate which has been my favorite. I think will stick to that next time.
