This location is one of my mom's and I go to! I can't believe the stars are not higher for one. Have you tasted their food? It is delicious. Have you tried their breakfast? It is also delicious and I firmly believe that they have some of the best pancakes I have ever tasted. The lady who is the server who is literally always there always friendly always kind is amazing sweet friendly and inviting, when you walk in you see a classic Taqueria style restaurant beautiful colors no-frills just it is what it is and I'm thankful for that. I love this restaurant. We will always be back And I was just saying today that I was so thankful that they are consistent all these years later. My very first job was with my mom at a dentist office and we were next to the Prunedale location. Came here the other night and got a carne asada burrito, I'm pretty sure they gave the the verde burrito with pork because it didn't seem like carne to me. Regardless of that mistake it was still pretty good. I wish it was the carne asada so I could give it a true rating. Other than that, service was good, and the salsa was also pretty good! My friend is here from out of town and I've had good food experiences from Saritas but this time was disappointed. We made it in time for lunch so both had a burrito. I tried the el pastor and she had the shredded beef. Our server was friendly, and quickly provided everything we asked for. The food arrived quickly also. My burrito was super dry, the meat was dry and chewy, lacked flavor. I hardly had any sour cream or guac. Thankfully my friend had ordered a side of guacamole so we shared that. Her shredded beef burrito was much better than mine, still not great either. In the past I've ordered their carnitas plate which has been my favorite. I think will stick to that next time. read more

My wife had the chicken soup and thought it was fantastic. She thought it was funny to have the whole chicken leg in the bowl. I had the chili Colorado and the meat was fantastic. Just a few words about a great restaurant. The location is perfect for low key dinning, its not all congested from a big city area, clean and super friendly staff. I had a really disappointing experience at Saritas. The waitress was very rude and unwelcoming, which immediately made the atmosphere uncomfortable. What bothered me even more was that they wouldn't allow me to use the restroom unless I was already a customer -- even though I was planning to eat there. That just felt unnecessary and honestly a bit tacky. Good service goes a long way, and unfortunately, this place didn't deliver. I'm a server and I would never treat my customers like that and I'm a good tipper but because of her I rather to take my food home cuz I could eat there no more, my mom didn't even order nothing because she couldn't eat there as well. Spent the weekend in Monterey so first night we decided to have dinner here since it was down the street from the hotel. I had eaten Mexican breakfast here over 10 years ago so I took a chance. Ordered the chile verde which had no flavor and meat a little tough, ended up getting an upset stomach. Wife ordered the shrimp fajitas which didn't have much seasoning. We ordered the bean burritos for our two nieces and waitress brought chicken strips and fries stating she messed up. We told her no thank you but we would like the bean burritos. It took another 15 minutes and I was wandering how long does it take to make two bean burritos. We paid, I left a tip but we will never come back to this location. I was very disappointed going to this restaurant after reading such great reviews. Ordered Menudo which was a pretty good size bowl, but the Menudo absolutely had no flavor. Not even a small hint of Menudo spices. Which is so disappointing because that is one thing we look for when going to a Mexican restaurant restaurant. My daughter ordered Pancakes and Sausage and Husband Scrambled eggs and Sausage. The Pancakes were McDonald's type and were served on a small plate. Same with my husbands scrambled eggs, hash browns and bacon, served on a small plate and did not receive his bacon. The only reason I'm giving this review one point because the waitress was friendly. Love Sarita's!! Haven't been in a long time. We stopped in today for a late lunch. I had a cheese enchilada, tamale, rice and beans. It was BOMB. He had chicken enchiladas rice and beans, cleaned his plate. Need I say more? The tamale came with sauce which I love, the enchilada had onions, which is mandatory for me. It doesn't matter which of the three you visited (I've repeatedly tried all three). The experience always remained the same - gentle, kind, sweet, and a mix of everything. No frills, no nonsense, and nothing spectacular. It doesn't matter. It shouldn't at this point as it always boils down to the main stay: the food and how the food speaks to you. And that's the thing: consistency doesn't really exist. I finally wanted to write a review of a mainstay Mexican spot so I ordered the same item through DoorDash, pickup, and even dine-in to see if it was the same several times. I made friends order it for me. I ordered it myself and all I can say is: Yes, they are okay. They always will. But that spectacular that I had hoped for...for a decade, just won't happen. I mainly go here for a menudo or any Caldos. They are very tasty! And we enjoy coming on Sunday's to enjoy the menudo. The service is great the ladies are always nice and welcoming. The spot is small but it doesn't get so busy. They do have a drive through/ pick up section . They also have a location in seaside as well. Super authentic Mexican food! We went for breakfast and were served big portions we couldn't even finish the whole plate it was so delicious though! My husband got pancakes breakfast that came with papas and sausage and eggs for 9.99 can't beat that! I got the chorizo and eggs and rice and beans plate with tortillas! They made Homemade flour tortillas and also amazing table salsa to go with the chips! The service was very polite and the food came out ready very fast! Had delicious lunch there today with a friend. We are women "of a certain age" therefore we are lighter eaters. We split the Chili Relleno plate as it comes with 2 rellenos, really yummy beans, rice, green salad and more tortillas. Our cordial server didn't mind and brought an extra plate. When you pay over $30 for two burritos, have to wait 20 minutes in the drive thru, and then get told if you don't like it you can go to the fast food down the street- the food better be worth it because the service was not up to par. When I went to pick up my shrimp burrito, my fingers hit the grease you can see in the pictures. It took two napkins to de-grease my burrito so that I could eat it. And they are the only restraunt I know of that charges restraunts tax on top of tax! Make sure to get your ticket before paying!
