Great amount of parking spots, greeted upon entry, big restaurant with a lot of natural light coming in. Our server was helpful and attentive to our table. We ordered an horchata and Jamaica. I ordered a 2 egg breakfast and my boyfriend ordered fajitas, everything was delicious. Highly recommend read more

Los Altos Restaurant - Fajitas - Mexican Near Me - Salinas, California

Rating this place a two star for the only reason that it is very un appropriate for the owner to be seated as a customer taking shots and being drunk. He looks like he's been drinking for days. The worst part is that he is asking the waitresses who are attending tables to take shots. Maybe wait for them to clock out. Food wise it's ok nothing special about it. read more

The restaurant seemed clean, there's an inside area and an enclosed outdoor patio (where we ate). The restaurant didn't seem too packed either from outside parking lot or inside, and we were immediately seated and then forgotten. I gave this place the benefit of the doubt bc I didn't see any recent reviews. The food was only okay, nothing stood out as delicious, just okay. They served chips and salsa to the table. We ordered a regular burrito and a super burrito, plus some kids food. There seemed to only be 3 ppl working: an older man, a young lady, and an older lady. Our waitress was the older lady. She was sweet, and tried to be attentive, but she just seemed to be so busy that she just wasn't able to be attentive. Our food came out super quick, in less than 10 mins, and once we were served, she never came back. 30 mins later we were done eating, so we just walked up to the counter to pay there instead of continuing to wait for the bill. read more

The service was good the food was yummy, and the mariachi was great! Will go again whenever I am in the area.

Stopped in after a long day on the road, and this was the only real restaurant in the area within walking distance of our hotel that was not a fast food burger joint. As we did not want to drive anywhere anymore that day to eat. It was well worth the effort amd short stroll to get there. A small family run restaurant, service was friendly and very attentive. We were greeted walking in and told a grab a seat where we liked. The hostess followed with menus in hand. We happened to be in for Oysters night, my road partner and I both are huge fans and being a stones throw inland from the ocean, it seemed a winner. It was. We ordered a dozen prepared, to start - wow, these were completely over the top. These beautys were loaded with fresh shrimp, grilled octopus and all kinds of fresh greenery; celery, cilantro, diced onions along with a side of course sea salt, fresh lemon and adobo sauce - highly recommended if they are available The other special that night, Chili Verde - that was my choice, it was very good, tender and well seasoned, the verde slightly spicy and a great tomatilla richness. A nice portion and the fresh tortillas handmade and delicious. My buddy stayed in the seafood thread and his plate looked amazing as well. 4 Stars - would come back 00772 read more

Good food. We did takeout. Worth the price. Recommended by Nate in the best western. The torta and enchiladas were wonderful

Everything went amazing! All around great people! They're very helpful when you need them. Great prices, & very clean! they accept Apple Pay as well read more

Love this place the sea food is great I always get rice beans and shrimp love the service

Not authentic Mexican food. The beans were lacking flavor and the rice was hard. Also, because they add sauce to the flautas it makes them soggy. Wouldn't return read more

I don't understand how this place is still open. I have only ever been here twice and both times I got food poisoning. The only reason I went back a 2nd time was because a family member was celebrating their birthday here. Needless to say, I got food poisoning again. That's when there was no doubt about it. Read the other negative reviews; people complain about their lack of cleanliness and getting sick as well! STAY AWAY from this place. read more

Their main dishes were tasty. This restaurant will seat you after 8:30, unlike other nearby eateries which are only interested in providing takeout, even if they close at 9pm! One complaint - the blended lime margarita tasted like water combined with alcohol. read more

We came from out of town and I was starving so I stopped to get 2 asada tacos. These were the worst tacos I had ever had. The food was cold the meat was old dry and tasted like it was on the grill for 3 days. The meat was black it had been cooked so much. There was barely any cilantro and onions on the tacos. I found remains of an old burnt rag in one of my tacos. The restaurant is old and run down. The service was fast and friendly which was the only positive out of the experience. Will never return or recommend. read more

I Do not recommend going to Los Altos because l got food poisoning from the carnitas and the asada tacos the carnitas were dry and they tasted old and someone sold my AirPods and l was sick for 4 days because of there food and there horchata was very watered down and sugary. read more

Food was great! Ordered the chicken chimichanga (it came with French fries)- it was huge! Definitely a shareable dish. There were quite a bit of seafood dishes on the menu- didn't get a chance to try any but they looked good. If ordering soda, you'll receive a can of soda and a cup of ice. Not a big deal but I would've stuck with water if I had known before. There was only one waitress available, so there were some instances where we were left waiting but it was no biggie. Overall the place was pretty chill and worthy of a revisit! read more

After a long day of traveling, didn't want to go very far for dinner and found this gem in the parking lot of my motel. Have to say one of the best carne asada plates I've ever had. Fully loaded and even had cactus which was a very pleasant surprise. Staff was wonderful, attentive, and accommodating. Great vibes, great food, and cold beer. Definitely worth stopping by, 5/5! read more

Visiting for work, hotel recommended due to nearby location, wish they hadn't! Service was fine, food had very little flavour and just warm not hot, not sure what I was eating, lacked any texture - best avoided. read more

I was invited by some friends to try this restaurant. I was so looking forward to it. From the moment we walked in, my red flag went up. For a seafood restaurant it reeked of old fish, my 30 years in the restaurant business taught me that fresh fish doesn't smell "fishy ." Our server was a beautiful woman who gave excellent service. We ordered a sample platter with various meats. The food was dried out and not palatable! The oysters were room temperature and they were awful too. Two of the women spoke Spanish and explained to our server. She alerted what I guess was a manager and he comped the meat platter. Needless to say, I will not be returning! read more

The food was excellent and the service from the staff was great. I tried the Shrimp Enchiladas and they were delicious!

Stopped in this evening for dinner. The service was outstanding. The chips and salsa were very good. I had the chicken quesadilla and it was also very good. They have a lot of choices on the menu. I highly recommend if you're in the area. read more

The food is always very good at this place. However, be aware of the FLAUTAS! They are pretty much a tortilla rolled up. I decided to give it another try to the flautas. Well, they haven't changed... they are the same old tortilla rolled up with a line of I think chicken...? you can't even see the chicken in it :o read more

Really good lunch here the other day! The shrimp enchiladas were great. Other diners had carne asada and a quesadilla and everyone enjoyed the food. Good salsa, fresh chips, what more do you need? read more

I've come here for the Mariscada and can't imagine wanting to try anything else. Basically, it's a sizzling platter with mixed seafood (tilapia fillet, shrimp, crab legs, scallops, mussels, etc) onion, bell peppers, zucchini, and it comes with a side of bread to soak up the yummy sauce. A half order is big enough for two. Atmosphere-wise, it's an old diner, basic and maybe slightly dingy. Loud music, mariachi band on weekends. Courteous and not overbearing wait staff. And mostly East Salinas locals who are in the know. read more

Food was delicious, and was served super fast. Service was far more than excellent. Mind you, we went around 8p.m. and all the waitresses offered us the same great service. The price was reasonable for the amount of food you get served and how good it is. Try it out read more

Worst Mexican restaurant ever!!!!!! Last time I got mariscada me and my husband got sick!!! Today we go because it was the only place close by that was open and I got a cocktail they couldn't even devein the shrimp this place is just sick!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

This place was gross! We were from out of town and we picked this spot for dinner. My buddy tried a margarita which didn't have real tequila. I just wanted something simple so I picked a super burrito. There was nothing super about it, the tortilla was cold and it made me sick for over a day. Each burp I felt the grease from the burrito on my throat. 10/12/21 my stomach is still sick from this place. 10/13/21 stomach is still jacked up. Don't recommend this place. read more

This place sucks I ordered carne Asada tacos and rice and beans Beans came out of a can Rice was bland The asada was leather chunks The poorest version of Mexican food I've ever seen I threw it in the trash I love Mexican cuisine and this place doesn't have a clue how to present a decent meal I know carne Asada Theirs is far from it I hope I don't get sick Minus one star just sayin read more

So I took my mom to this restaurant on Mother's Day, it was a last minute thing, everywhere else was a wait, or you needed a reservation to eat there, we stopped, there was a line, I walked up to the counter and asked the owner how long was the wait? He said "we have the patio open, if you don't mind the cold you can have it!" "Of course I'll take it!" I said. Not only was there no waiting time, we basically just walked right in, the patio is closed off, basically an indoor/outdoor area, the waitress was amazing! She brought everything out perfect timing, she never left us for to long and stayed attentive, and on top of our refills. The food of course was great!! Would highly recommend this place to anyone read more

My family and I discovered Los Altos Restaurant when we were moving and staying at the nearby Best Western motel and I was a little nervous about trying it thinking that it wouldn't taste great. And to my surprise "in the words of Mikey from the old Life cereal commercial" I liked it and I can honestly say I'm glad I took a chance on Los Altos Restaurant. My mom and I loved their rice and beans and my mom loved her enchiladas and my dad was pleasantly surprised with Los Altos Restaurant's food and it's priced just right and the staff is very friendly and helpful too and if you are looking for great Mexican food give Los Altos Restaurant a try and taste it's awesome food read more

I can honestly say the food is great! The man that greeted us was supper welcoming and nice , but there was one girl with a pink shirt and blond hair that made me feel uncomfortable and made me feel such as me asking for item I like was such a drag on her. She literally didn't give me sauce options when I asked for a spicy one she brought me one that was not what I asked for. I asked a different girl and she says they had the Diablo which was very spicy and not at all what I wanted but once again didn't want to ask again! I felt me asking them was a problem to begin with . read more

Walked in and they had WONDERFUL live Mariachi music. So, felt quite at home...reminiscent of my childhood. That was the most positive. The food was really tasty. That was the 2nd most positive. The service was slow. They got our order wrong. They never brought the check. We had to go up and take care of it at the cashier. Also, we were told they were out of guacamole, but they put some guacamole on the side of our carnitas. What the heck? But, again, delicious food! We both got carnitas and they were really, really good! read more

Very sad service, was sitting for 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged that I was here. I must say its cool because they have a mariachi band but unfortunately they stay in one place. Their campachana is decent, full of shrimp, oysters, pulpa and imitation crab:(. I have noticed that locals are top of the list, so don't expect quick service. read more

Looks like it took over a former diner. Decent Mexican food. Casual decor. The chile relleno was very fresh and not over-baked. The enchiladas, especially the beef enchilada, was very good. The shrimp fajitas were very good with lots of onion and green peppers. Pretty popular place. The service was OK. They didn't refill our pre-dinner chips and we had to ask for the check. read more
