    Burrito De Camaron

I am absolutely in love with this place and coming from a place that has not so great authentic Mexican food, Tacqueria El Burrito King hit the spot. I called in ahead of time and they were ready within 10 minutes. I ordered the Burrito de Camaron with Sour Cream, Avocado, and Cheese and it was absolutely delicious. First of all, this burrito was huge and definitely could've lasted me 2 meals. The flavors were also amazing as the shrimp was grilled in its own sauce which added another salty element to the burrito. The shrimp was also extremely juicy and plentiful as there was one in each bite. The burrito was also on the wetter side which I thoroughly enjoyed, although I think next time I don't necessarily need to order another avocado. Overall, fantastic and affordable burritos and I can't wait to come back to try other ones. Also the fact that this place is open 24 hours a day is also crazy...

    Lunch in an alley!

What a charming little spot in an alley in oldtown Salinas! I was told it was pretty good so I came a couple weeks ago to check it out. It's a family owned place and it shows. The interior is tiny but they have plenty of seats outside right in the alley, which makes it fun and interesting. They do a lot of to go orders. The menu has a lot of variety. They serve breakfast all day. I'm going to try it soon. Both times I came, I had a small combo. You can customize it if you don't see exactly what you want. I had a beef taco and cheese enchilada and it came out piping hot. The food was delicious . I requested hot salsa and is it ever hot! It made my eyes water. They happily brought me a different salsa, which was very good- you could see and taste the fresh ingredients such as onions and cilantro. The chips are not included but worth the price. The water is served in a pitcher with vegetables and fruit (lemon, cucumbers and strawberries) to infuse it with a little flavor, which I thought was a nice touch. They also bring iced tea in a carafe. The Asada tacos were flavorful and had no fat. Plenty of fresh onions and cilantro, and they asked if we wanted it first. The beans are tasty and not too cheesy. The rice was not overcooked on the edges. When the food is as good and fresh as you'd hope a Mexican restaurant would have, there's nothing to add. I would feel comfortable inviting out-of-town guests or business colleagues. I feel comfortable dining alone. Eating lunch in the alley is a fun experience. The Burrito King just earned a new regular customer

Called to place an order for pickup and she said it would be ready in 10 minutes. We arrived 15 minutes later and our order was hot and ready. I ordered the chorizo breakfast burrito, but add beans and cheese. It was sooooo delicious! They are huge so I saved half for later. Definitely hits the spot when you have that breakfast burrito craving!

Had a delightful experience sitting on the patio with my wife. We ordered the king molcajete and it was most excellent. Will definitely be back again for more.

Came here late January after painting with the kids. We were seated quickly although we were a little cold (door was open). Can't complain as the food was delicious as since we're next to the kitchen, we were warm enough. The breakfast fries are served with sautéed onions and bell peppers. The waffles were massive and satisfying! My niece ordered bacon and eggs a la carte and cleaned off her plate. The water has fruit infusion and the orange juice is fresh squeezed. Will definitely come again.

    Egg and Potato Burrito
    Alex R.

First time stopping by and a bit disappointed! Egg and Potato burrito ranges from 5.99 to a bit over 6 bucks online and on the menu but I was charged over $10 for my burrito. The eggs and potatoes were not seasoned. The potato is also just French fries as pictured. Otherwise, the burrito is a fair size and the salsa is okay. The service was also alright as well.

    Small counter space.

I have missed this place a lot. It isn't on my normal walk path so I tend to forget it. This location is tucked into an alley just off Main Street. There are about four same tables inside and a four to six outside in the breezeway plus a bonus room for parties. You can do sit down service or to-go. I ordered the breakfast burrito with all the extras

Veggie burrito, chile relleno and two enchiladas (one chicken, one cheese)

First time at burrito king was great, fast service and most of the workers were nice, one worker was busy so it came off as rude. But I don't think she was trying to be. Food was great fresh tasting ingredients, super filling, and great homemade salsa It was loud from the beeping of the devices used to cook, the music was nice tho. Overall great food, great people, and a lot of space to sit and eat

At Burrito King Again...!!! We Love This Lil Spot It's Very Small And Intimate. I Ordered The Ham, Eggs, Beans, Potatoes. And Cheese Breakfast Burrito, And An Agua Fresca De Jamaica. My Fiancée Ordered The Small Combination Of Two Carne Asada Tacos, With Fries, And Rice..!! And An Agua Fresca De Jamaica As Well...!!! They Are Always So Friendly And Quick To Get Your Order To You. The Food Is Always On Point..!! I Wish It Was Saturday Because They Only Do Menudo Or Birria On That Day...!!! I'm SAD...!! Lol

Quality is poor, food safety and hygiene practices are poor. Nothing special about this place, and not worth the $ for the food.

Once you step inside, the vibe shifts instantly into a perfectly clean, well-organized Mexican eatery that feels both authentic and welcoming. The service is incredibly friendly and the prices are more than fair. It's the kind of hidden gem that makes you feel like you've been let in on a local secret. The food is quite frankly phenomenal. We're talking enchiladas cooked to perfection, delicious tortillas, quesadillas boasting that glorious, milky-stretchy cheese we all dream about, and bold salsas that bring just enough zing to make you reach for your napkin (and maybe a glass of water). Even the staples like refried beans and rice were flawless, leaving us with absolutely nothing to fault. If you're looking for a meal with enough soul and spice to make you sweat, this is a must-visit!

The beans were alright but I will not be back. Price is not worth it either 16$ is a no no for the food quality.

Decor on the wall was very chic with a barnyard backyard type of feel; good ambiance for a simple date night or a night out with friends. We ordered: Paloma flight - you get to choose 3 flavors, super worth because 3 full cocktails for $38 ?! That's a steal. Usually for flights I get a smaller sample of each flavor so I was shocked when it came out so big as a flight Lobster enchiladas- OMG this was my absolute favorite! The sauce was amazing! The lobster pieces were huge. They were not skimpy on the lobster at all! It had so many amazing flavors combined together. Comes with beans and rice and I for sure mixed that sauce with the rice. Definite recommend!!! Ribeye aguachile - meat was cooked perfectly with a balance of chewy and tenderness, more on the citrus side but goes great with the tortilla Salsa and chips - comes complimentary but extra orders would incur a charge ($2) Service was exceptional, everyone was very nice and polite. Drove two hours from the Bay Area to get there and it was totally with the trip. My son got the mole negro and I got the chile verde. Everything on both plates was authentic, delicious, and AMAZING. My son tried my chile verde and said it was the best he's ever tasted and I agreed. They were super busy because it was Mother's Day, but we were seated after a short wait and our waitress was super efficient and friendly. Several times during our meal someone checked to see if we needed anything. Not going to lie, we were a bit intimidated when we pulled up as there were no other non-Hispanic people in the large crowd outside waiting to be seated. I told my son that meant the food was definitely going to be good, but I was worried about how we would be received considering the political climate these days, but it wasn't an issue. Everyone was super friendly. Will definitely be going back to try other items on their menu.
