Came here for lunch with party of 6 and food was very good. Inside was a bit packed so we ate in the alley and staff setup real quick, all masked up and helpful. Food was here in a quick 10 minutes, was filling, flavorful and delicious. Can tell staff took pride in the food and service just with how they provided the extras alone in their water (filled with lime, mint, berries). A very good choice. read more

This is the best place to eat authentic mexican food. The menudo is great! I also got a taste of chilaquiles rojos they are supper spicy and delicious. I recommend the red chilaquiles for a hangover. I also got a taste of camarones a la diabla and they were really good as well. Besides that I saw other plates taken out and look really good. The ambiance is quite and really peaceful. Overall I loved this place. Definitely coming again. I recommend coming before 11am on weekends since the wait time can extend to an hour after that. read more

Friendly staff to help you through all the pains of social distancing and the awkwardness of ordering during these stranger days. I've l ived in the area for 30 yrs. and have a choice of 20 food joints that serve some form of Mexican food within a three mile radius. The food here has always been consistently good. They have a hardy assortment of breakfast burritos to pick from on a overcast central coast morning. One will easily get you past lunch. They still have there full menu pretty much but the hours have been shorten due to the pandemic. Seeking out this place for the first time could be a challenge, in a "strip-mall alley way" as I see it. Hang in there, look for signage. Why not five stars? Still looking or dreaming of that little spot from my childhood were all the food is scratch made by grandparents. 4 stars... pretty close. Last words... worth it. read more

Food and service was excellent!! Everything was fresh and tortillas tasted homemade. I enjoyed the outdoor seating and seeing all the plants and the flowers. The staff is friendly and food was served quickly. I will definitely return! read more

Salinas Hidden Gem! We are always greeted by name, and a very friendly welcome. The restaurant is located in Old Town Salinas down a small alley way, it's almost like you need the secret word or handshake to know it's location, but once you know you know!! It's a small restaurant with breakfast and lunch hours only. It's very clean with indoor and outdoor dining. They do a ton of take out business. The food is always cooked to order and very flavorful and fresh. Hands down the best salsa ever!! Everything I've ordered off the menu from breakfast burritos to chilaquiles and any other traditional Mexican meal are delicious, and doesn't disappoint. I will attempt a photo next time as I was so excited when I food arrived I forgot to take a photo. read more

Perfect for lunch! The burritos are good. The tortas should include avocado instead of lettuce and more mayonnaise. Their other food items look delicious but I have tried. read more

I really like this place in old town Salinas! It's a small little place, with great menudo and chilaquiles. These have been the two things I've had from here. Service was not that slow. It was okay. But it's a very small place that when it's packed you can't really sit after to digest your food. read more

I ordered food from here a burrito bowl not even 10 minutes after eating it my stomach started cramping really bad, I had a weird feeling about the food when I started eating it but I kept eating, I honestly regret eating it i don't know if they cooked food that wasn't good but I don't recommend it. read more

Excellent service, if I can give 100 stars I would. Everyone is very friendly and accommodating, what I love about this restaurant that if it's not on menu but they have the ingredients, they will make it for you. The restaurant is a bit small, however, they have a banquet room a few doors for the extra space . I will 100 percent recommend this restaurant to anyone I know . read more

Was looking for a new spot for good food. thought I'd try here. BIG MISTAKE! not only did the food smell foul and inedible there was was also hair in it. I couldn't stand to be rude to the waitress as it's not her fault so I just paid and left. I will tell everyone about this disgusting experience. Be weary of trying this place. read more

My first time eating here but knew exactly what I wanted the chilaquiles. They have two choices red or green. I went with the green. I asked if they were spicy, no mild, so I asked for spicy. Beware they were spicy but not overwhelming. read more

If you want REAL, authentic delicious Mexican! This is the place:) Hand made corn tortillas, food is always made fresh and the taste is yummy! I'm not big on meet but when I do have some tacos or burritos, this is the place:) They also have veggie/vegan options. Im such a picky eater but they made my dish just the way I wanted, thank you. Will remind you of moms cooking! If mamma cocks delicious Mexican :) I waited a bit for my food because it was made fresh, I don't mind when I wanna eat delicious! Staff is super nice, fast. You can call to pre-order and pick up. They also cater, my co-workers loved it! I saw the low reviews, compared place to Super Taqueria, not even close but if you like pre heated, store bought tortillas, fast food vibe, that's it. read more

Stopped by for a quick takeout with coworkers. It's a little hole in the wall off the main drag, down a nice shady walkway. There's some outside tables too. We all chose super burritos for lunch. I got the Chili Verde, light on sour cream. It was really good: flavorful moist pork, slices of guac, and all the usual inside. Their salsas were tasty and had the right amount of heat. Two thumbs up read more

Decided to try it out and it didnt dissapont, good portions, great service and delicious food The only cons are the space as is a little smaller and get crowded easily and the pastor meat has to many greasy pieces. But overall a great place for breakfast or lunch as they close early. read more

Fast service. Great food, I was surprised the burrito bowl was very tasty. The steak was surprisingly tasty and lean. The outs side tables were very quaint. The gal at the Steinbeck Center recommended it. It lived up to its expectations. $1 if you use a Credit Card I look forward to returning. read more

My mom introduced me to this place, really like it i feel like the food is a good Mexican kind. Theres places I've gone where the Mexican food just isn't it. My partner really likes the Pablo special. You get a good amount of food for what you pay. It is a bit small but i feel like it's worth going to try it out. I've only gone about twice but both times the service was really good. read more

I had the pork carnitas regular size burrito. The burrito was huge, filled with carnitas, beans, and rice. The pork was flavorful, but I had to add the salsa to add a little bit more flavor and spice. From what I saw from my friends, these burritos are huge. The service was good, friendly, but it did take a little bit longer than expected, especially with burritos. read more

Menudo was jammed packed with soft, squishy, meaty goodness. Seriously, there was a ton of meat. The regular burrito was enormous. I can't imagine how big the super version might be. The fresh squeezed orange juice was awesome! I should have got another one to take home. Service was excellent! read more

very expensive! got a burrito bowl and cost me almost $18.00!!! they put french fries instead of breakfast potatoes on the bottom, which i asked them not to do! the macacha had fat on it and was very chewy. on top of the fries, they added a lot of lettuce and hardly any meat & melted cheese!the bell peppers & onions were mushy! it was terrible for the money i spent! i was very disappointed and will never go back again! it's a very small place with only a few tables inside & a few on the sidewalk! they used to have great pico de galo-not anymore-it was dry & just cut up tomatoes & onions etc. they said the salsa was not spicy, but it was very hot. i was charged extra for it & i had to throw it away with everything else. the only thing i ate was the shredded beef. i wasted my money! i wont go back again! be prepared to spend a lot of money here! read more

The location is inside of an alley but there should be plenty street parking. There are both inside and outside seating. The menu has a few weekend only items which I got menudo. The portion is huge for one person and it is very tasty with true ingredients. The service wasn't the fastest but they also make each item by order so it was expected. We went on a hot day and the water was infused with fruit! Definitely highly recommended place. read more

We'd forgotten about this treasure of a place until we stopped in for breakfast this AM. The food was excellent, the staff it is very friendly and efficient, and treat everyone as family. Hardly anyone needs to use a menu, and the staff seems to know what the customers' favorites are. Everyone seems to know everyone! I heartily recommend this excellent gem! read more

Delicioso! This is a very small, family run place that makes great traditional food. I love the nopales and eggs with freshly made corn tortillas. They serve cinnamon coffee that is invigorating and soothing at the same time. It's a welcome way to start the day. Lunch is also good. Many choices. I love the super carne asada burrito with nopales or avocado. It is stuffed with flavor and is sooo filling. They have a banquet area, some outside tables, a dining area, and can cater your event. I got a tray of their excellent enchiladas to share at a party and everyone raved. You will love the friendly service and the food is very good. Burrito King - Super Burrito, no beans - Mexican Near Me - Salinas, California

My sister and I found Burrito King down the alley in downtown Salinas and now go there regularly. Clarity and Jose are wonderful and kind and the food is like homemade. We have tried a few menu items but keep coming back for the Nopales and Eggs. It's a big portion with homemade tortillas, frijoles and potatoes. That and a cup of the cafecito is a great way to start the day. Burrito King is a little hard to find, but once you do you'll be back. I also like that there are outside tables where we can sit with our dogs. read more

I was in Salinas visiting on 01/06/18 because it was my brother's birthday and he was skydiving in the area later that day. Burrito King is located down an alley, but not in a sketchy you-might-get-stabbed kind of way! Our group of four was greeted warmly and seated quickly by a little Hispanic lady. We all got breakfast burritos with our meat of choice and extra crispy ("ex crisp" for short) potatoes--a trend I apparently started. We were pretty satisfied with our selections. I personally had the chorizo and egg and I liked that you can taste the bits of chorizo rather than it being indistinguishable and "one with the egg" like some places prepare it. I know, that's deep for a breakfast burrito review, but it's sincere. I promise! Not sure if I'll ever be back in this exact area, but I will make it a point to stop and try their lunch/dinner selections if I am--I see you carne asada fries! read more
