    Las Cabras - Just Chillin
    Nelson M.

So this being Christmas Day in Buenos Aires, we spoke to the concierge at the hotel on a good place to have dinner that would be open for dinner. Surprisingly there were a number of good options open for dinner as compared to lunch. Seeing as were pretty tired from the trip we opted to go hit Las Cabras which as e or red was pretty busy. Even on Christmas Day Argentinian's do love their dinner. In true Argentinian fashion, we ordered some Provoleta appetizers which were very good and then proceeded to order an asado that brought combinations of different types of sausages and meats. All were excellent and we really had a very good time. Service was very good and we will definitely be going back at our next outing in the Palermo Hollywood area of Buenos Aires. Good news is they are not as expensive as their counterparts which is great if you are on a budget, but overall I have to say that everything food and drink wise is extremely affordable in Argentina. If you want to try a great restaurant feel free to give them a shot. I don't think you will be disappointed. Enjoy and Bon Appétit mes ami!

The food is great, though I was really hungry so my opinion was definitely biased. I didn't really care for the piece of cheese and the food was a bit unseasoned, but that could just be me needing a lot of salt haha! I got the steak medium rare and it was definitely cooked to perfection. Was the star of the show for sure, as everything else was pretty average. Came here for the steak though so got what I wanted! There was also so much food for the price which is basically expected for this city. The service was friendly and there were so many tables that we were seated immediately. Also a call out for the ginger lemonade, as it was the most delicious drink I've had, would highly recommend!

    A thank you note

Excelentes opciones, gran servicio y precio. El Vacío al horno excelente! Gran lugar, gran ambiente.

Good selection of food and drinks. They don't start serving mate until 4 pm and only until 7 pm. Great location with patio seating perfect for people watching.

This place is a neighborhood landmark. Th staff aren't exactly rude but they kind of don't care. Some things I observed: 15 min at table before a waiter arrived. The place was 30% full and there were LOTS of waiters. Waiters would take things off my table if they needed them elsewhere- without a word to me. One girl grabbed napkins out of my "cup full of napkins", spilling napkins all over my table. She never uttered a word. Probably 30 times a waiter bumped my table so hard it spilled wine. Nobody was rude, they were all young and clueless. As i typed this line a girl bumped her butt against my table, knocking a few things over. The food was good, not great. The prices were OK. I'd come here again - knowing what I'm getting in to. Oh - no wifi and cash only. They seem to be fighting modernity.

Can't complain at all about my experience here--fun environment, delicious and filling milanesa, and great and friendly service!!

While I haven't been to Don Julio, I am happy to say that my experience here at Las Cabras was spectacular! My colleague and I split the gran bife platter and a chicken Caesar salad and it was enough to feed 3-4! Our waiter was kind of inattentive but she got us the check within about 25-30 min. I highly recommend this place -- everything coming out of the kitchen looked divine!

Excellent place to eat! Your USD will go so much further if paid in cash . Loved the service and food. Highly recommended!

Location was very close and convenient to our Airbnb. We dined here on the first evening after we arrived. Great recommendation by our hosts. Service was excellent, nice cozy place, moderate prices. We tried the three different types of empanadas (carne, pollo & ham-cheese) and they were very tasty. We recommend the meat mix which comes with three different types of meat. We paired it with a bottle of San Telmo Malbec and for desert we had the banana cake with ice cream and dulce de leche. For two of us to share all this food it came to less than $30 USD. We tipped more than what was recommended because of the service and food. They were patient with us when ordering and trying to communicating in English. We tried to speak the little Spanish that we knew. Another server who spoke English came over to help translate.

The steak in the sandwich was tasty! I asked for JUGOSO (Ie, medium rare) yet it still came well done. :? Fries were iced cold. Bread was stale to the point it was hard as a rock and inedible. The service was good, and I think the prices are reasonable. Here's the thing: JUST ORDER STEAK! Forget everything else!

In my short time in BA/staying in Palermo Hollywood, this is one of my favorite places. But to be clear, it's for the food and value. Not so much for the service. My friend and I came here twice during our time in BA. While adjusting to normal meal hours during our stay, we found that LC was very helpful in tying us over until dinner time. The wine is at such a reasonable price and the list is more extensive than most places in this price range. The portions are HUGE. Especially coming out of the parrillas. I highly recommend that if you come here, you get it. The service is just slow. It takes so long to order, get your wine/food, etc. The nice part is that you can enjoy your meal without worrying if you're going to get bothered. The tough part is when you wanted to squeeze in more steak before heading over to the airport. Just prepare yourself for it. And finally, the most important thing, they have pinguinos. Four US dollars for a liter of wine coming out of a humble penguin... yes. Sign me up for that any and everywhere. Huge portions, great empanadas. I recommend this spot for sure.

    EXCELLENT STEAK (&everything else)

Get the t-bone Argentino. It's on the far right - middle of page for less than 1,000 pesos. And it's a giant platter for two that we managed to devour and I rolled up my sleeves and tackled the T wo mercy! The beef was phenomenaaaaal. The t-bone has the bife de lomo and bife de chorizo which is not a chorizo it's a steak (I get confused w all the steak names, also I learned cabbage is called rePOLLO, and I thought that words meant dishes had chicken...anyway...) Bife de lomo would be the filet mignon portion. AlwaYs get your steak at "jugoso" which is medium rare. Bife the chorizo would be the NY strip steak. The platter included: fries topped w a fried sunny side up egg, grilled delicious onion and red pepper, sweet potato purée, rice, and provoleta which i truly turn into Sméagol and say "precious". Then you get to the incredible steak whose flavour is so good and the fatties are decadent and you want to keep finding them. The tbone was about 9"x9"x7/8" thick. Excellent char. There's chimi which was neglected Side of salad was great Small chorizo was excellent Food was fantastic Service was fine

Quesadilla de pollo was fabulous. Very popular restaurant / bar with a wide selection of food and drinks. Note: cash only, so be sure to bring your wallet. Also be advised that there is no English menu

Delicious bife de lomo although the accompanying salad was a bit limp. I wonder if they serve salad often.

Hands down one of my favorite experiences while visiting Buenos Aires…read more From the start, the staff was incredibly welcoming and informative. We were greeted with welcome cocktails (we get to mix it ourselves!) plus snacks and wine pairings throughout the meal. The setting was very intimate, and everyone got to interact and participate like a group project while making the empanadas together. (I learned to cut onions correctly..) We learned about the food, some history, and had a great time chatting with fellow guests around us. What I really appreciated was how accommodating they were with dietary restrictions. Whether you're vegetarian or have dairy restrictions like I do, they truly work with you with food substitutes.. When we made empanadas, the chef even prepared a separate dough with olive oil instead of butter for 2 of us that didn't want dairy.. and the desserts were made dairy-free as well. Quite impressive. It felt like a full five-course meal. The hands-on part was making the empanadas, while the chef handled the entrees rest of the way with steaks and veggies. (Don't think anyone was complaining about that). Overall, great food, great conversations with our group and the people around us, and time flew by.. Awesome experience from start to finish. 5/5.

To start, the empanadas are absolutely delicious and I highly recommend them. The menu otherwise was quite rich. We got the Milanesa, and the Ossobuco on polenta. I found the Milanesa to be a touch on the greasier side than I am used to, but it was delicious! And the Ossobuco on polenta was quite rich, especially with the bone marrow - I had a hard time finishing this, but I highly recommend it. The portions are quite large, so sharing dishes is probably not a bad idea. I am also pleasantly surprised by the cocktail scene of Argentina, especially Buenos Aires! There was a spicy version of a Negroni on the menu that the staff warned me about but I kind of took it as "they probably mean it's a strong drink" But NOPE - it is actually spicy! As a spice lover this was really interesting, but not for everyone. The ambiance of the dining area was quite interesting with photographs and memorabilia. If I had one little advice for the restaurant, maybe fix up the bathrooms a little bit. Peron Peron captures the essence of Buenos Aires in a way that may be a bit controversial, but the food is definitely worth the trip!
