Food was very good. Service was great. Have been 2 times and will continue to go back. A real treat.

Not a gay friendly establishment. I identified as a gay man and was told "no regreses" when I paid my bill, which means don't return. I'll most certainly comply:). No te preocupes al dueno. read more

First and foremost: We called ahead to make sure our party of 15 to potentially 19 could be accommodated, which we were advised could be but no reservations could be taken and to simply show up and they'd work from there. Arrival plus hostess: we arrived at the restaurant and immediately the younger looking, maybe Latina hostess, was unpleasant. We had not asked to be seated as we wanted to wait for the rest of our family with some being local residents to my family (from Sand Diego, California) and 2 sister-in-laws coming from Pennsylvania. It wasn't too long when an older gentleman, with glasses, came around took over, was extremely nice, and told us we could be seated confirming our party size. Server: The gentleman who take our order was friendly, prompt, and made no error in any order; my youngest was impressed at how he remembered who ordered what when he begun to bring out the meals. Food: Now this is where I know I can form an opinion. For one I'm Mexican who has lived in San Diego, California all her life (almost 49 yrs), and still do, with frequent visits to Mexico growing up. I also cook and may my own Mexican food, from scratch, to include homemade corn and flour tortillas by hand. I also do not use nor know anyone that uses nacho cheese on their food. What we do use is cotija, queso fresco, and Oaxaca cheese to name a few. I ordered the combination plate with a chicken enchilada and tamale. The plate was palatable but did not win me over. The chicken has zero flavor, zero seasoning, and per my assumption was boiled in water which is honestly an odd way to cook chicken. The tamale was dry and the beans and rice where passable. Looking at the menu I thought I'd be safe ordering that but as my eldest daughter said "mom, this is a 3 star out of 10 - non Yelp stars!" My husband and son both were not wowed by their plates either. When you have a true homemade and quality restaurant mexican food it really is an eye opener when eating outside of Southern California let alone Mexico or as my family "la comida de mi mama es major cien por ciento!!!" Lastly: the same younger looking Latina was behind our table cleaning a smaller group that left and once we all started to get up to leave she made sure she was extremely annoyed of our large presence. The dirty looks and holding back what she thought was quite visible to my observant eyes. I kept staring at her the entire time as each member made their way to the front area to meet and exit. We we never loud, did not make a mess and tipped our waiter generously, which I hope she gets nothing of it. We don't come here often as again, we live in California, but probably would never return unless it was just a drink at the bar. The girl needs to be better trained both in demeanor, her attitude axed, and learn costumer service. Out waiter and the older man with glasses were nice. read more

Everything tasted great and had quick service. The queso is delicious and the large portion is large, but not too big for my family to crush. The lettuce wasn't quite fresh so while the rest of my meal was good, it kind of held back the overall flavor. But overall would definitely go back again. read more

We live in Georgia, but always try to make time to visit at least one meal during our stay!!! I had to download Yelp just to give a glowing review!! I don't see how they will top this meal AND it's cheaper than what we would py at home!! FAST KIND SERVICE! They cleaned off empty tables quickly and make sure floors were maintained/clean. We sat by the kitchen (which I NEVER do after years in food service) and there were 2 men joyfully singing (well!) with the radio! read more

Careful when you order carry out! They have no idea how to do it! We have ordered carry out twice from this restaurant. The first time they put two orders piled on top of each other, so we had to figure that out at home, with only one serving of rice and beans. The second (and final for us) time they put them in two containers because we asked, but got no rice or beans at all! Apparently you have to request it? Service on the phone was frustrating both times. If you're looking for a sit-down restaurant, they're fine. For carry-out, either keep searching or check EVERY ORDER at the restaurant. read more

The food is great and the service is always top notch! They are always very quick in serving you. You get seated very quickly too.

The food was absolutely amazing. Best I've had in a while. Service was great. Very attentive. The vibe of the place was your typical Mexican restaurant but it was cute. read more

If your nearby and transportation challenged then stop by. The food has always been ok but nothing ever stood out. For my money I always go to "El Charro" on Highlands Road because they never disappoint. read more

Ordered food thats supposed to come with rice and a salad on the side. Didnt receive either. told the waitress it was on the menu and they said "just because its on the menu doesnt mean the meal actually comes with it." Thats bad and scammy service. Not cool. read more

Delicious food at reasonable prices. We ordered to go the first night and missed out on the warm chips with homemade salsa. We had two meals and a Margarita and walked away full and satisfied. Will be back to try more food. read more

Have been here twice now and will continue to come as a local. The food is delicious and the servers are friendly and prompt. The fajitas are absolutely delicious! Their carnitas plate is also very tasty. I grew up in Southern California eating Mexican food multiple times a week and this food was good! read more

Well at the time I looked this was the highest rated Mexican restaurant in Franklin NC on yelp. So I went. I was seated fairly promtly and brought a menu, chips, and a little flask of salsa. I started to eat the chips and salsa. Finally I finished the salsa and still no order taker had come by. I saw them around tending to other tables, but evidently I was invisible. So it was time to start the countdown...when do I get up and walk...and just about 5 seconds before time to bail he comes over! No apology for being gone forever. I order the combo of 1 enchilada, 1 chili relleno, and one 1 burrito for $9.99. When it comes I started to wonder, did I get 2 enchiladas? Where is the burrito? I started eating them and cut each open to figure it out. The insides were the EXACT same thing. Cheap unexciting ground beef and sauce. I move to the chili relleno and expect cheese to come out when I cut into it. NOPE! Inside is exactly the same ground beef sauce as the enchilada and the burrito!! OMG...I cant believe this! There is some melted cheese scatter around it yes but NONE inside. When the sauce is the same exact sauce no matter what your eating there this place deserves one star! It wasnt really very good either and I had just tripled down on it with three different menu items all being the same thing inside. What terrible luck. I asked the waiter which one of these 2 things that look exactly alike is the burrito? He points to one and says that one has a corn tortilla around it so its an enchilada. The other has a flour tortilla so that makes it a burrito. Good thing I was sitting down to hear that. I have never had the experience to have a restaurant make a tortilla exactly like an enchilada, same size, same filling with the ONLY difference being the tortilla. Since there was a sauce over the top it was hard to notice the difference in the tortilla. Pictures are posted you be the judge! The only plus in this place is that it has free wi-fi. This restaurant is on the road south, highway 441 which is called Georgia Rd at that point. Maybe they have a captive audience there as they would never be viable anywhere else. read more

Excellent food and service at reasonable prices. Love their chips and salsa! Highly recommend!

The food was amazing got the tamales with salsa verde as an appetizer, then me and my wife were still starving so we got the fajita for 2 and man o man was it a lot of food for a decent price of $23 but totally recommend if your in the town of Franklin read more

I ordered the grilled Salmon. It came with rice and vegetables. The rice and vegetables were good. The Salmon was way over cooked and tough. I have ordered this meal before, and it was cooked perfectly. When asked by the owner, "everything ok?" I said no, the fish was way overcooked and not good at at, he walked off in the kitchen. He came back in about 10-15 minutes with the check. Now the back story is that they know me by name, because I have been going there for 15 years or so. I was truly disappointed about the quality of food, but much more about the way they handled the situation. I can say that I will never spend another dollar at Las Barracas in Franklin. read more

We have visited Las Barricas for a decade or more (was Monte Alban - same staff), and they always make us welcome when we arrive. We normally have at least 12 in our group ranging from age 2-60. Always a good experience. Food is always great, fresh and hot. They are very patient with large groups and have always accommodated bringing food to our little ones in the family first so there's no crying or impatient little guys (grand parents and parents know how hard it is for them to wait for their food sometimes). The staff are always friendly and happy. Never have had an issue in over a decade. One of our favorite places to dine for 2, or take the entire family of 12 or more. We always tip them well for the mess we leave behind - they are like family to the locals read more

We stopped for lunch here on our way through town. We were very pleasantly surprised by the food and service (as the parking lot was practically empty when we pulled in at 12:30). Our entire lunch, including beer and cheese dip was just over $20. We had the Pancho Special as well as the chicken chimichanga. Would highly recommend both. Our food came out really fast and our server, Ivan, was very attentive. We'll for sure be back if in the area! read more

Look, this isn't the best or most authentic Mexican food I've ever had, but it's still delicious. I've lived in Boston for nearly 15 years and still look forward to stopping by Las Barricas whenever I'm in town. The portions are generous (for food and drink) and the service has always been good, even when it's busy. If you're looking for something fancy, this isn't it. If you're hungry and craving fajitas and a margarita, Las Barricas is a great option. read more

This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in town! Food is ALWAYS good, service is perfect & prices are reasonable! My new favorite menu item is the Pancho Special but the Cowboy Fajitas are awesome too! Food was okay but pretty bland overall and the waiter forgot about us a couple of times. Not incredibly friendly

I would.give it less if possible! The one that answers the phone.doesnt speak English hardly at all. Our last 3 Togo orders were missing items but they charged us and refused to fix it! When we eat in there we get the same server and upon request because he himself is fantastic if you get anyone else you better make sure to salvage your drink! You are only getting the initial one! No refills. They bring your food and walk away with no questions asked and just never come back and we were eating there 2 to 3 times a week so it happened plenty before we decided Elcharro was way better even if we have to drive to the other side of town! read more

Waiter did not understand English at ALL, making it impossible to ask questions, make changes, etc about the menu. I finally gave up and ordered nothing. I'm sure the food is great but communication is KEY. Bathroom doors in disrepair. read more

This place is a gem on the way to the mountains from Atlanta. We stopped because we were in the mood for Mexican food on the way home from a vacation in Gatlinburg and everything we got was fantastic. The food was loaded with flavor and had plenty of chicken, pork, and chorizo. We had 8 in our party including 3 kids and everyone got something different. We had to go family style as we all kept trying each otherS dishes read more

We went in the middle of the afternoon. The salsa and chips were good--the chips were hot and the salsa tasted fresh. But, sadly, that was the best part of my meal. I ordered the Chicken Fajitas. The meat was chopped into fairly tiny pieces and was very bland. The guacamole was pretty much tasteless green goo. The flour tortillas were awful and unlike any I've ever had with fajitas. It took several swallows of beer and some chips and salsa to get the nastiness out of my mouth. My husband said his lunch was merely OK, nothing special. Very disappointing as we've had good food there before. Not sure if it was the time of day or change in management or what. But, there's definitely something off here and I probably won't try it again. read more

Ordered a to go order. Texas Nachos, rice with Cheese and 2 Nachos with cheese. Got back home. The Texas Nachos had no cheese at all, no cheese on our rice like we asked and did pay for. Our kids nachos were stale tasting. We returned to let them know how terrible it was. And got a refund on the rice and Texas Nachos. Way over priced here! And you don't even get what you ask for! Would not recommend eating here. Last 2 times we ate inside our waiter got our order confused and sat the food down and we wondered why he brought what he did. And told him and then they were then given food that sat at our table 5 mins. Horrible!! read more

Better than average food. I liked the tamales , enchiladas and guacamole. Great ,attentive and fast service. Clean, and not too loud.

My family and I use to be a regular here. This was our favorite spot to come after church for lunch. However in the past couple months the service and food has gone down hill. We had a party of 5. Chips and salsa always comes quick. And drinks ordered promptly. The good taste different now. Not the same as before. Not busy on Sundays as in the Past where their were people standing outside waiting to be seated. Past 2 times someone in my family finds a hair in their food something just isn't right here anymore. We gave them the benefit of a doubt. Hoping maybe it was just one bad experience. But each time we leave. Our stomachs are torn up the entire night. Wish I could say I still enjoy this place but we have found a better place for our Sunday lunching. read more
