Shrimp and chicken fajitas.

The $4.50 Margarita.
Michael W.

Franklin has quite a few Mexican restaurants for its size. Overall the Mexican restuarants across the entire south tend to be sub par. I stopped in here the other day and even though this was the first visit this one seems to be better than the norm. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week! Price are reasonable. I started with a margarita, and they have 3 sizes: $2.50 $3.50 and $4.50. I opted for the $4.50 and it was huge! Pretty good too. I noticed the beer menu and it was reasonable too. Domestic beer $2.25, and imports $2.50. They even had Bohemia which is harder to find than the cheapest Mexican beers at the same price. Most Mexican restaurants dont even serve Bohemia. (Bohemia is Mexican from Monterrey Mex) At the bar were 9 guys chatting away. I could tell from the accents most, if not all, were Mexican. There were also Mexican customers eating at tables. Most all other Mexican restaurants in Franklin have ZERO Mexican customers. Thats another good sign! I ordered a combo plate, #7 which was $7.49. It was average. Often combos offer the cheaper grades of food so next time I will try something better. Inside the relleno was white melted cheese that appeared it could have been from a can. If so I hate that. The cheese on the refrieds and enchilada appeared to be real. The enchilada was made with basic ground beef. Most any other thing inside would have been better. This restaurant should NOT be confused with another NC chain with several locations in NC and North GA. It goes by Mi Pueblo with an outline of a Pueblo style building. This is not that chain. I will be back and check out more menu options and update this as I do. For now I will give it a 4 star.

Javier with my tacos.

Listen to me Franklin! Listen to me Franklin! This is a Hidden Gem in your city. We were up here on business and decided to drop in and so glad that we did! Javier was our waiter and he explained a few line items from the menu and the selection was plentiful. I decided on a Texas margarita with a variety of tacos. Two of the tacos were al pastor and the other two were steak tacos (see picture). Rhonda had the Mexicano chicken burrito and it was fantastico!!! Dang, I wish I would have ordered that also because of the green sauce. The green sauce was amazing, matter of fact, it was the best green sauce that I've ever had from a Mexican restaurant. You simply have to go there and try it and then you will understand why I am raving about it so much. Don't let the strip mall location discourage you...very clean, hospitable and delicious food. Be sure to tell Javier that Mike sent you.

Best Mexican food in Franklin. The service is great as well as the food. Pricing is right and they keep good hours year round.

Arrival plus hostess: we arrived at the restaurant and immediately the younger looking, maybe Latina hostess, was unpleasant. We had not asked to be seated as we wanted to wait for the rest of our family with some being local residents to my family (from Sand Diego, California) and 2 sister-in-laws coming from Pennsylvania. It wasn't too long when an older gentleman, with glasses, came around took over, was extremely nice, and told us we could be seated confirming our party size. Server: The gentleman who take our order was friendly, prompt, and made no error in any order; my youngest was impressed at how he remembered who ordered what when he begun to bring out the meals. Food: Now this is where I know I can form an opinion. For one I'm Mexican who has lived in San Diego, California all her life (almost 49 yrs), and still do, with frequent visits to Mexico growing up. I also cook and may my own Mexican food, from scratch, to include homemade corn and flour tortillas by hand. I also do not use nor know anyone that uses nacho cheese on their food. What we do use is cotija, queso fresco, and Oaxaca cheese to name a few. I ordered the combination plate with a chicken enchilada and tamale. The plate was palatable but did not win me over. The chicken has zero flavor, zero seasoning, and per my assumption was boiled in water which is honestly an odd way to cook chicken. The tamale was dry and the beans and rice where passable. Looking at the menu I thought I'd be safe ordering that but as my eldest daughter said "mom, this is a 3 star out of 10 - non Yelp stars!" My husband and son both were not wowed by their plates either. When you have a true homemade and quality restaurant mexican food it really is an eye opener when eating outside of Southern California let alone Mexico or as my family "la comida de mi mama es major cien por ciento!!!" Lastly: the same younger looking Latina was behind our table cleaning a smaller group that left and once we all started to get up to leave she made sure she was extremely annoyed of our large presence. The dirty looks and holding back what she thought was quite visible to my observant eyes. I kept staring at her the entire time as each member made their way to the front area to meet and exit. We we never loud, did not make a mess and tipped our waiter generously, which I hope she gets nothing of it. We don't come here often as again, we live in California, but probably would never return unless it was just a drink at the bar. The girl needs to be better trained both in demeanor, her attitude axed, and learn costumer service. Out waiter and the older man with glasses were nice.

Everything tasted great and had quick service. The queso is delicious and the large portion is…read morelarge, but not too big for my family to crush. The lettuce wasn't quite fresh so while the rest of my meal was good, it kind of held back the overall flavor. But overall would definitely go back again.
