If I could give more stars to this repair shop, I would. I brought my car to this shop at the recommendation of the tow truck driver who towed my car the night before after it broke down on the highway. I'm so glad I did. My situation would have been easy to have taken advantage of because I was stuck 3 hours from home, and had no choice but have my car fixed. The owner couldn't have been more fair with me, or nicer. One of the problems was my water pump, and once I told him I recently had a new water pump put in and bought the parts from O'rileys, he called them and got them to give me a new one free of charge along with a belt that had also broken due to the defective pump. I had myself, and two teenagers in tow after we had to check out of the hotel we stayed in. He was having a bbq and fed all three of us while we waited for our car to be fixed. Who does all these things? Especially for someone who doesn't live in the area, so it wasn't like he only did it to get the repeat business. I HIGHLY recommend you give this shop a try, not only are they fair, but they got me on me on the road quickly and exceeded my expectations. read more

If you're looking for a good mechanic shop this is the place to go to. In the 8 years I've owned my car I've taken it to quite a few different mechanics for routine maintenance. Being a woman who doesn't know much about cars i could easily get over charged for unnecessary things and wouldn't know the difference, an that has happened to me on more than one occasion. That is not the case at Lara's I feel very comfortable and they always tell me exactly what needs to be fixed and how much it will cost before they do anything. Good honest hardworking guys. I had the best experience at Lara's Smog Station I could have hoped for. I was stranded in Soledad because my car was making a really strange noise and I didn't want to drive it any further down 101, and Diego responded to my request immediately. He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and was kind in the process. He quickly identified the issue with my bumper and had me on my way in no time. He was also very reasonable in what he charged me for his services. I have not had any car issues at all since he fixed it. I was most grateful for the excellent assistance. read more

I've previously posted on here about this business (review was deleted?), but I had to pop back in here while I was already down in Salinas and once again I left satisfied. Needed to replace the rack and pinion on my truck due to constant leakage issues, gave Diego a call to see if he could also help with that and he delivered once again with no hesitation!
