We went on a Wednesday, where the special was fajitas for $5.99 - such a good deal. My husband got the steak fajitas and I got the camerones a la diabla. The chips and salsa were so good. The event said no reservations needed, so we showed up not realizing how popular it would be. The place was PACKED with a line out the door! Even so, we only waited about 25 minutes for a table on Valentine's Day, which honestly wasn't bad at all considering the crowd. We went specifically for their Valentine's special: 2 margaritas, fajitas for two, and dessert, such a great deal! The margaritas were delicious. We ordered the Rita sampler and the blueberry margarita tasted like blueberry pie, so fresh, organic, and absolutely yummy. We also ordered homemade guacamole, which was delectable, paired with fresh, crispy homemade chips. Our fajitas included steak, pork, chicken, and shrimp, and everything was cooked to perfection. The flavors were incredible!!! And can we talk about the restaurant itself? It's HUGE! It felt like one of those multi-level Times Square NYC restaurants, with multiple floors and even outside patio seating. It was like a magic trick walking through it! Our waitress, Lia, was fantastic, attentive, helpful, and so sweet despite how busy it was. The staff worked incredibly hard all night and it showed. Plentiful parking, amazing food, great atmosphere. We will definitely be back to this hidden gem we didn't even know existed in town. Thank you for making our Valentine's Day special after a long day of yard work

We…read morearrived at 7:30 and many diners had completed their meal and were leaving with to go boxes in hand. That indicated to me plentiful portion sizes- a plus. The entry was clean, well decorated, and well staffed. It was too small to handle all the leaving, arriving, and pickup traffic but there was seating inside and out. At any rate, our wait was short. We were shown to a comfortable table, promptly greeted, and provided with a basket of hearty corn chips and a great salsa- just a little spicy but also mild enough for my husband's tender palate. Angel was our server and she was great: attentive, pleasant, and informative. We ordered two appetizers:,mofongo and chichirrones. Both were great. The avocado sauce accompanying the mofongo was very flavorful, bright and tangy. The pork was well seasoned and had crispy and tender bits without and excess fat. It was just right. My daughter ordered the reine (white flaky fish with yellow rice and black beans), my husband had beef quesadillas with rice, and I had the chicken and shrimp Monterey. The fish was new to us all and was very good- like hake or cod. I don't know how mine tasted- I ate too much of the appetizers to have any room. But two of the 7 (!) to go boxes were just mine and we will ALL dine well tonight, too. An added bonus, while there, I learned that they made Sancocho (a delicious soup/stew/heaven in a bowl) on Saturdays. SOOOOO, we placed a pick up order for two large containers and the desserts we couldn't justify last night- carrot cake and flan. There's no doubt we'll go back. Paella and fajitas are at the top of my list but I suspect that the entire menu will be worth a try. We have lived all over the country as well as traveled and often found good Mexican food hard to find. We are thrilled to know Latinos y mas is in oca

My #1 mexican restaurant in the Ocala area…read more As you know, and you can see, by the number of checkin's and reviews I write about mexican restaurants... that I have a thing for mexican food. It's probably because I have lived in California so long and also... I think I have an addiction to refried beans as well... (and black beans). When you workout, expend a lot of energy or have a long day of work.... refried beans are like a shot in the arm.... it gives you instant energy. Besides.... I on a no pasta, bread, pastries, dessert or sugary things diet...so that means... I focus on "how much protein I can obtain with just one meal". So Im a very protein focused person and I like to get my money's worth. La Catrina's sauces on things are spectacular. I love it! The food just tastes that much more interesting than it normally does. This is a feat and a half. It's difficult to make most mexican food interesting... we are all so used to it by now. Probably the only place you can go to get interesting and gourmet mexican food is Mexico City (so I've heard)......but out here in Ocala ??... this restaurant does a pretty good job. The service is great too

It is a small place filled with perhaps too many tables, but service was friendly and I was in and out in a relatively speedy amount of time. Let me state if you are concerned with the staff wearing masks, perhaps here is not the place for you. Neither my server nor the cooks were making masks. They are charging more for their menu items, my lunch fajitas order was two dollars ($2.00) more and my server did tell me. They are citing increased prices due to COVID-19, but as far as I know prices have settled and it is time for them to decide if they want to simply up their prices or bring them to what is printed on the menu. Plus, every item has had the priced raised, where most places just raised the price of beef items. The salsa and chips were good. The salsa was chunky and flavorful and the chips had a great crunch to them. Their chicken fajitas were not too good. They were on the edge of burned (but still acceptable) and lacking the spices that make it a wonder. Plus it was a bit dry. The rice and refried beans were good, though. So I cannot see myself returning. The food was barely mediocre and while the service was good, I was taken aback a bit by the upcharge.
