There are a *lot* of competing dry cleaners in the Bedford area (one is right across the street), but I consistently give my business to Lapels. I like the environmentally friendly aspect, but even more, I like the friendly service of Paul Sickorez and his staff. He's always been willing to do whatever he can to get my laundry back ASAP, and they're one of the few e-mail lists I have on my name on. The attitude to this store is RUDE!!!!! Don't go there ever!! I dropped 3 shirts to that store earlier, that Asian lady told me those shirts need to be dry-cleaned, for $6.50 each!! Later I got my friend's recommendation telling me the cheaper dry clean store, I drove back to get my shirts back-- that Asian lady first told me that's the dry clean prices, and she can offer me cleaning price--however, I just told her I don't want to argue but like to have my shirts back! SHE THREW MY SHIRTS BACK AND YELLED " OMG" before I left that store!!!! Such great attitude just showing how ignorant and RUDE this store can offer!! And beware, this store will ONLY charge CASH only if any price lower $20!! I would only give this store "0" star in my opinion, giving "1" is only for I can leave comments!! DON'T GO!!!! Unfortunately Paul no longer owns Lapels. The new owner seems to keep it as clean as Paul did and has also added a tailor. Unfortunately she has raised prices and even charges extra for cleaning services (like spot cleaning) that is normally included in dry cleaning services. Also, she charges more for designer labeled clothing. Mens suits that are $15 to dry clean she charges $25 just for the designer name. There are so many dry cleaners in Bedford that are less expensive, do an amazing job, and are much friendlier that there is no reason to use Lapels. read more

Lapels attempts to make doing business with them very convenient. However, prices are higher than competitors, manager tries to "up sell" services in every way possible and when i commented on pricing, I was encouraged to go elsewhere. Very snarky attitude for customer service. Quality same as competitors. read more

I was a customer behind Tim. O. of Lexington who gave the very sweet owner a very difficult time. Both he and his wife were rude and complained for several minutes while the owner maintained her composure and smiled the whole time. They were not happy with the prices and after listening to their many complaints, she finally she suggested that they shop around if they were not satisfied with Lapels. No snarky attitude as they suggested, rather she was very patient and accommodating. Since they are from Lexington, not Bedford, I suggest they do business closer to home. I brought my military shirt in to be dry cleaned with military creases. When I got the shirt there were no military creases and the shoulder of the shirt looked chewed. I called to try and figure it out but only the manager could do something about it. He asked me to bring it in, so I set up an appointment to meet him, when I got there he had left already, I was early for our meeting. When I called back again he told me they would clean it again and do military creases for free, the shirt was ruined they wouldn't give my money back or pay the six dollars to replace the shirt. I would not recommend this place to anyone, there is a place across the street, they are great and worth crossing the street for. read more

I used to love this cleaner for their fair prices, good customer service, and friendly attitudes (as well as good work)....BUT.....then they changed ownership and all of those characteristics disappeared. I don't have clothes cleaned often now that I'm retired but I did take in sweaters last fall and found out (as I was headed out the door on an international trip) that they shrank a wool one. I decided to give them another chance with my husband's trousers this week. No sign that they have a minimum for credit card purchases (and no mention when I dropped off the pants); no indication that they now charge extra for spotting stains. AND no sign of remorse or "I'm sorry" for the problem with the sweater, the extra charges, or the credit card minimum. There are way too many other options in Bedford and neighboring towns to put up with mediocre customer service....especially when the end product is no better than any other cleaners.
