As hard as it is to write this, it needs to be said. We had the unfortunate task of having to make that horrible decision of letting our pet transition. I had no idea what to do or who to call as I have never considered in home euthanasia. I randomly called laps of Love after reading some of their reviews and reading someone's account of how their pet was handled with Doctor k a i t l i n. I must say, as hard as the situation was, when I first called lots of love to schedule the appointment the person on the other end was very kind and consider it as I was sobbing most of the time. Dr k a i t l i n, promptly arrived at the scheduled time, and we were ready for her to proceed with our beloved pet r a y j o. His siblings were also close so they they could be part of his transition cuz I have read that helps them to understand that their sibling has not just abandoned them or disappeared but has passed away. I truly believe that they know. Dr k a i t l i n proceeded to explain the procedure and what the expectations were as our beloved was going to transition. She was kind, thoughtful, compassionate and explained everything and was never hurried or hurried us. T o say that the whole experience was beyond amazing is an understatement. I am so thankful for laps of love and for Dr k a i t l i n. To know that there's a service out there that you can call when you're in your darkest hour and have them send someone like Dr k a i t l i n helps ease the pain and grief. They also take care of transporting your pet and in my instance I had a private cremation done and they also scheduled the pickup for the remains for the owner. They made a horrible horrible day a little brighter. I also want to add that the next day I received an email from the doctor who assisted my beloved Ray Joe's passing to see how I was doing and to help comfort me during this difficult time and guide me to their grief support group should I be interested. I also got communication back from laps of love as well as their partnering with the Crematory to let me know how the process would go with the cremation and when his ashes would be available. The communication was beyond perfect. I also want to add that Dr k a i t l i n, personally sent me a beautifully handwritten note to let me know that she was thinking of our family and hoping that I will be able to see what I did for my beloved Ray Joe was out of love and how peaceful and dignified we allowed him to go in our home on his favorite spot on the couch which included his siblings. I will be forever grateful to laps of love and an angel named Dr k a i t l i n.

I want to thank Dr. Sean and your organization, Lap of Love, for the love and tender care that you gave Carol and me during our time of loss. It can't be an easy job for Dr. Sean....but he handled it so professionally, with gentleness and compassion. He gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye to our sweet dog, Baylee. My sincere thanks and gratitude not only to Dr. Sean, but to all of you at Lap of Love

BoJo, our almost-11 year old Schnoodle.

I am grateful for the compassion and professionalism of Lap of Love. This was an emotional day for us and Dr. Henry respectfully guided us through our time together. He left us with a plaster cast of our dog's paw print and a lock of hair that tearfully surprised me. Emails offering support and cards of sympathy were received from Lap of Love in the days that followed. We've already received our pet's ashes in a beautiful box that included an engraved name plate. This company and their staff are a gift to those of us who grieve the loss of a pet.

Kaitlin made this difficult day more manageable and didn't rush the process or make us feel uncomfortable in any way.

Kerry M. was our vet and she walked us through every step, educated us, was patient, and was so kind to Iverson and us. I had to cancel the first appointment because I was not ready to say goodbye. They offer a cancellation window up to 4 hours before your appointment and allow you to carry over your deposit to when you reschedule, with no extra fee. So thankful for this understanding. The cost may feel steep, but the in-home service is so so worth it. Iverson had his last meal while the pain meds were administered. It was a distraction where he didn't even notice. He felt safe and comfortable in his home, surrounded by family and on his favorite couch. He was then given a sedation medicine where he drifted into a nap on my chest. When the final medicine was given, he felt no pain as he crossed the rainbow bridge. I have heard horror stories from other in home service companies. I had 3 friends use Caring Pathways and that is why we went with them. I am so grateful and thankful that we chose to work with Caring Pathways. It helps with acceptance and closure and provides a peaceful passing. I will forever recommend them to other family and friends who need to say goodbye to a family pet member.

There was so much empathy throughout the experience, that it took away the awkward or embarrassing concerns. They also offered counseling services. Afterwards we received a beautiful carved wooden box to hold the ashes- we were not expecting anything this nice. To me, this was worth the higher price you pay- rather than going to the vet to do this.

It's only a YEAR later that I'm getting around to writing this review, and the experience with this company still makes me tear up, with gratitude! As a first-time client, I had some special requests, like keeping my dog's body for a few days while I finalized ideas for memorabilia. They honored my wishes with such grace and compassion. When I needed an urn, they went above and beyond, showing me their inventory so I could select the perfect one, as each wood option was uniquely cut and meaningful. Their attention to detail and genuine care for my situation made such a difference. Despite my attempts to give them a cash tip as a thank-you, they kindly refused and asked that I leave a review instead. So here it is (a YEAR later): Caring Pathways offers incredible service with a truly compassionate touch. I can't recommend them enough. The vet, Kaity, and her assistant that came to help us were just as much of a blessing as the ladies at the mortuary. You're all just the most extraordinary team of humans!! Thank you, again!!!! With love, from Teresa & Bourbon.

Saying goodbye to you family is never easy. However, our experience with Dr. Stephanie was as…read moreseamless and compassionate as we could have hoped for. She is very knowledgeable and kind, took everything at our pace and explained the steps before and during the procedure. She took measures to ensure that our kitty, Cassie was as comfortable and calm as possible. After the injection to make her sleepy we got to give her her favorite treat. She fell asleep with her tongue out, completely at peace. Dr. Stephanie came over after a few minutes and verified that she was gone and reassured us that we'd done the right thing in ending her suffering. We even had the option to keep Cassie for a few hours after she passed to say our last goodbyes before dropping her off at the aquamation center. All day we kept saying how we couldn't believe how relieved we felt and how a lot of our anxiety had been that it would not be peaceful, like the time we'd lost our other cat. We had so much closure around Cassie's passing right after it happened and I think a lot of that was due to the fact that Journey Home did such an incredible job at making Cassie's last day so normal that she didn't know what was happening. A few weeks later Cindy dropped off a beautiful package of memory keepsakes and her ashes. We will treasure them forever. The services are a bit more expensive than going in to the vets office, but was cheaper than other in-home euthanasia options we looked into. If you have the funds to invest in this, it's definitely worth it. We felt at peace with our decision and felt supported by the whole team before, during and after. If we ever have to make this decision again, we will choose Journey Home.

She explained exactly what was going to happen and gave me space to hold my girl and cry. About a week later, Cindy dropped of the ashes and everything was so beautifully put together and I was happy to receive the plaster casting of my girl's paw print...that was very touching. It meant so much to do this hard, heart-breaking thing in the peaceful setting of my own home. I would recommend Journey Home to anyone seeking this kind of at home euthanasia. Thank you, Dr. Stephanie!!
