It's always a horrible thing to lose one of our furry family members. We knew when we got the aggressive cancer diagnosis for Rufus (10 y/o EBD) that we wanted a vet to come to the house to help him transition to the other side. He was terrified going to the vet. I wanted this last experience to be as comfortable for him as it could be. The gut-wrenching day arrived just before Christmas that he let us know he was ready, and I was able to schedule via text with Danica for the same day. Dr. Connor arrived and was so wonderful with Ru and with us and spent a few hours at our home through the process. She couldn't possibly have been more gentle and caring. After my veterinarian told me the best thing I could do for my sweet 17 year old kitty was pick him up from her office and start saying my goodbyes, I was crushed. Jason Cordiero was phenomenal, he is very well trained in all things veternarian, and even took classes on death and dying, and grief counseling. He came to my home on a sunday afternoon and was so patient and caring. Letting my neighbor children say good bye, and waiting for me to compose myself for my own good bye. The dog was cancer ridden and could hardly breathe. the final symptoms came on suddenly and i was faced with the necessity to do something immediately as he was suffering. He was flexible on the price and I would call him again at triple what i gave him at the time. While my heart is broken knowing that I no longer have him here with me, those precious moments with him at the end are something I will treasure forever. We said goodbye to our sweet girl, Mackenzie, back in August. It took me a while to be able to write a review.. She was an amazing dog and had been diagnosed with Degenerative Myelopathy.
