Our experience was exceptional throughout. Communication with Dr. Cordeiro and his team put us at ease during a challenging time, and when we made the arrangements our expectations were exceeded. Our pup had a hero's exit that was peaceful, surrounded by those he loved most. It was a heartfelt and wholesome experience to have this important service done at home... I really appreciate that we didn't have to carry our boy in and out of a veterinary office and have all the fear and trepidation that goes with it being his last moments on earth. Thank you Jason and Danica for helping us. I do, and will continue to recommend and endorse your service to everyone that needs it. read more

This was a very compassionate way to the end of my dog's life. I highly recommend. Dr Jason is compassionate and kind.

It's always a horrible thing to lose one of our furry family members. We knew when we got the aggressive cancer diagnosis for Rufus (10 y/o EBD) that we wanted a vet to come to the house to help him transition to the other side. He was terrified going to the vet. I wanted this last experience to be as comfortable for him as it could be. The gut-wrenching day arrived just before Christmas that he let us know he was ready, and I was able to schedule via text with Danica for the same day. Dr. Connor arrived and was so wonderful with Ru and with us and spent a few hours at our home through the process. She couldn't possibly have been more gentle and caring. Losing beloved family members is the worst. Dr Connor and OLG made it as minimally traumatic as possible and it helped our remaining dogs understand where their fren went. It's been two weeks and it's still a struggle...But his cremains were returned to us today beautifully packaged in an unexpected gorgeous carved wooden box with a certificate, and I also received a handwritten note from Dr Connor last week. They truly go the extra mile and I can't more highly recommend them. You can trust them with this last act of love. read more

Dr Crystal Connor helped us with our dear border collie (who had a brain tumor). We are so grateful for Dr Connor's calm style. She told us what would happen and what to expect. She was so gentle in her manner and dealing with Bodhi (and us). We were so gutted - we still are - but we could give Bodhi a peaceful death before her mind and body was completely broken. Danica, the manager/coordinator, is also quite good. Calm, empathetic, supportive, and clear. Best decision to use One Last Gift over the "big box"/corporate/national outfits. Thank you Dr Connor. We will always be grateful for you. read more

I don't need to tell you about the gut wrenching decision to step beyond ourselves to really listen & see the signs of your sweet dear saying, 'I am so tired, I am in pain & I am having problems breathing.' How hard was it to hear my sweet pup, that came into my life at 8 weeks old & is now 16 years old+, try to tell me that I am here for you? I am here for you. I am suppose to be there for him at every turn. I worked hard to help him through all the pain hoping to always make his walk as a senior the best possible life well-lived. Two weeks of crying, talking to his higher self & telling him that it is okay to let go, I heard him say it is time. I searched for the best scenario for our family. Dr. Cordiero was our answer. He is amazing & I am sure sent by all the sprites that we needed to help us navigate this difficult time. From the moment he entered our home, he sat on the floor with tons of tears and curious animals around him. All of our clan felt Dr. C's love & his gentle walk welcomed all of us into the heart wrenching & heart freeing journey of letting go. Mekai, came up to him for love & gently rested by him which was the cue I needed that all was going to be okay. Mekai literally passed with a treat in his mouth and Dr. C gently talked us through the next steps & loved our animals to celebrate a life well-lived. He also held my crushed self in gentle regard & reminded me that I/we made the right choice for our love. So needed this & still revisit the decision in my mind. At every turn, I get...'I am free Mom and I don't remember the pain.' Our clan shouts our love to him every morning & every night. Heis free of pain & apparently dancing freely! Love to you & your team Dr. C. From us to you...you were sent from above. XOXO, Kristen, Mekai, Molly, Maizy, Kaya & Inyo read more

After my veterinarian told me the best thing I could do for my sweet 17 year old kitty was pick him up from her office and start saying my goodbyes, I was crushed. Of course I knew this day was coming, but I'd hoped my Pasha and I would have had a few more years together. The receptionist gave me a slip of paper with four companies that do home euthanasia. I started Googling them that night. One Last Gift was the first one I checked out and the website made a good impression on me straight away. Two of the companies I discarded immediately, but there was one other place I kept in the running just in case something didn't work out. The next morning I made my calls. I called One Last Gift first, but ended up hanging up because I couldn't bring myself to leave a message. I called the other company and just didn't feel great about it, so I called One Last Gift back, left a message, and am very grateful that I did. The doctor's assistant Danica called me back before long. She was very kind and sympathetic without seeming patronizing, even though I was a total mess. After out initial call, she told me I could just text her to set up the house call and provide any additional details, which was a very helpful and thoughtful service as I didn't want to talk on the phone, and I can imagine lot of people in my position don't want to talk either. The doctor was very compassionate and patient with us, and especially my darling Pasha. We truly appreciated his calm and empathy during his visit. Even though it was clear that he loves dogs, he was wonderfully gentle and caring with my kitty. read more

Jason Cordiero was phenomenal, he is very well trained in all things veternarian, and even took classes on death and dying, and grief counseling. He came to my home on a sunday afternoon and was so patient and caring. Letting my neighbor children say good bye, and waiting for me to compose myself for my own good bye. The dog was cancer ridden and could hardly breathe. the final symptoms came on suddenly and i was faced with the necessity to do something immediately as he was suffering. He was flexible on the price and I would call him again at triple what i gave him at the time. I have my paw print still ten years later and I made a book of my precious Hunter and his wonderful years with us. Jason is the one to call. Period. Go to his website and see what it is like, very comprehensive and he really cares deeply about you and your needs. read more

The thought of saying goodbye to my friend of 17 years was gutting but I knew it was time. My kitty is particularly spicy and is unable to be touched by anyone except me so the thought of her final moments being at a vet in fear was not an option. Dr. Cordeiro truly made an absolutely terrible day the best it possibly could have been. He is a calming and tender presence that approached the situation with love and respect. He talked us through every step, offered us time and when it came time made sure we were 100% ready. He also was incredibly kind to my kitty in her final moments. Dr J made the saddest day a lovely peaceful experience for our family. He was so kind. He gave us space and time and graciously explained the process at our pace. In my world, pets are family. Saying goodbye to a family member is never easy. Having to schedule that final parting, being able to write a date and time in your calendar for death is the weirdest, most sickening feeling in the world. Still worse is imagining taking an ailing beloved pet to a place that many dislike- a loud, scary, smells like medicine and sharp things place; the vet's office. Thanks to One Last Gift and Dr. Jason Cordiero, some of the pain of making this tough decision is eliminated as he will come to your home to help you say goodbye. Jason has helped me say goodbye to two of my own fur babies over the last 3 years, and has also helped a few of my friends that I have referred him to. Jason or his assistant will patiently talk to you on the phone so that you understand the process, making you feel better about the "when" and the "how" of this terrible but merciful choice. He has the toughest job in the world and does it with kindness and compassion that is indescribable. He brings a gentleness, a dignity and a peace for both the pet and the pets two and four legged family. The process is quite peaceful, and witnessing it can bring closure to both the humans and other animals in the household. I will forever feel an indescribable gratitude for Jason and the guidance and help he has given me and my animals when we were in times of desperation. read more

Danica was so kind over the phone and managed to arrange an appointment a few days after we first reached out. Jason showed up on a Saturday, and his gentle manner immediately put both of our dogs at ease. He explained every step to us during the process, and waited patiently while we said or tearful goodbyes to our sweet Daisy Mae. When you move to a new state thousands miles away with your senior pet, one of the most important things is to find a trusted vet who could come to your home and help your pet to travel to the Rainbow Bridge. For us, this moment came several months after our boy was diagnosed for a liver cancer. He spoke to us that it was time. We had no doubt. I did researched online and decided on Jason. Feedback was great, and the fact that we shared the same alma mater (different schools) was an added point. I believe every vet who does this difficult yet significantly valuable work is a good one. But it was important for me to know who was to come to help our boy pass, rather than not knowing who would be coming from a group of vets. Jason was not in hurry, and explained every procedure, and made sure that we were ready for every step. And Sunny went so peacefully. we appreciated Jason's kindness and gentleness that made the experience a very peaceful one. I know this is a work that is very difficult emotionally, and I wish Jason a lot of peace. Thank you. read more

I had to put my dog, Charlie, down quite a few years ago. I was in college at the time and was initially hesitant about paying the extra money to have someone come to the house to do the euthanasia rather than taking him in. This was money incredibly well spent. Jason has an incredible level of compassion and love for animals that made this unfortunate event so much better. I was so grateful that my beloved pet got to spend his last moments of life at home where he was comfortable and in the presence of people who cared about him deeply. Jason came and spent a little bit of time getting to know Charlie before actually doing the euthanasia. He was professional, kind, and fit right into our group as we both remembered and celebrates Charlie's life and mourned his passing. A few weeks later, I received a hand written sympathy card from Dr. Cordiero that must have taken a decent amount of time to write. Our beautiful boy Marley was diagnosed with atrial hemangiosarcoma in December and after collapsing on a walk in February, we knew we had to make the difficult decision to say goodbye. We had heard numerous praises about Jason and wanted very much to have him perform the euthanasia. We called him on a Wednesday morning - while he was in surgery - and explained our situation. Our wonderful man needed his suffering to end that day. Even though it was a last-minute request, he assured us he would make it work. Traveling many miles on a day when he normally wouldn't perform the service, Jason arrived at our house and immediately made us all - most notably Marley - comfortable with what was going to happen. He was such a calming presence. We are beyond grateful he was the one to help Marley transition in the dignified manner he deserved. Although we had never met, Jason has that rare ability to make it feel like he was a dear friend we had known for many years. Jason came into our lives a few weeks ago when we first reached out to him regarding his services. He spoke to us over the following 2 weeks several times and answered all questions we had with care, patience, and understanding. Last Saturday was the day we finally had to say goodbye to our precious Fabio. Jason arrived to find me in tears and immediately made me feel comforted just by his presence. He spent time getting to know our Fabio and other babies. All of them took to him immediately, including my sweet Fabs. He sat for the next 2 hours listening to stories, laughing with us, letting us cry, and giving us the time we needed and Fabio deserved. My concerns regarding whether this was the right decision disappeared as Jason took pictures of our sweet guy, hugged him, spoke to him softly, and just provided more than we could have ever imagined. We never felt rushed and truly felt that he would have stayed with us all night if that's what we all needed. I felt as though I had known him forever despite having only met him that day and I felt as though he truly wanted to know our sweet baby. Jason has a gift for making people and animals feel at ease around him. After he arrived, it was as if Fabio let me know he was ready, he calmed down and seemed relaxed and brave. While my heart is broken knowing that I no longer have him here with me, those precious moments with him at the end are something I will treasure forever. I can never thank Jason enough for allowing all of us the comfort of being at home while saying goodbye to our loved one. He turned something that was incredibly devastating into something beautiful at the same time by allowing us to give Fabio the last possible gift we could. I am honored that I was there to hold my sweet boy while he took his final breaths peacefully and free of pain. The paw print that Jason gave us is something we will forever cherish along with the amazingly beautiful urn that we received with Fabio's ashes. We said goodbye to our sweet girl, Mackenzie, back in August. It took me a while to be able to write a review.. She was an amazing dog and had been diagnosed with Degenerative Myelopathy. Dr. Jason was recommended to us by her vet and it was the best decision. I couldn't bear the thought of having to decide when to say goodbye to her, and the thought of even the car ride to the vet would create so much anxiousness with us, and with Kenzie. The time soon came where we had to schedule a day and naturally I/we were in tears all morning. Jason was so calm and had a genuine love for animals that you could see and feel, which was what I needed to be able to ease into the process. We were able to go outside into the backyard and sit on a blanket under a tree, and albeit one of the worst days of my life, it was the most beautiful and peaceful way to say goodbye to Kenzie and the kind of goodbye that she deserved..
