I really like bringing her here, and the location is very convenient for us. Recently, however, I started receiving several emails asking me to complete forms for appointments for other dogs. Since these clearly were not related to Flor, I called today to let the staff know about the issue so it could be corrected. I believe the person I spoke with was named Casey. Unfortunately, the way the situation was handled was extremely frustrating. While I was trying to explain the issue, she repeatedly interrupted me and said they were transitioning to AI text messages and that they were having problems with the system. I tried to explain that my concern was specifically about receiving forms and emails for other dogs, but she continued talking over me and did not allow me to finish explaining. When I told her that she was interrupting me and not letting me explain the situation, she simply told me to send an email about it. I explained that I did not have time to send an email and was calling because I was trying to resolve the issue directly. Again, she interrupted me and said she did not know what to do about that. At that point, I asked to speak with a manager. She told me that she was the manager. I asked her to confirm her name again, and she responded, "No." I then asked if I could speak with someone else or the owner, and she hung up on me. I honestly don't know how to handle this because I really do like bringing Flor here and have been happy with the grooming services. Unfortunately, the way I was treated during this phone call was extremely rude and unprofessional. I was simply trying to bring an issue to their attention so it could be resolved, and I expected to at least be given the opportunity to explain what was happening. I hope management sees this and addresses the situation, because I would really like to continue bringing Flor here. I just don't feel that customers should be treated this way when they are trying to communicate a legitimate concern.

This used to be a fist rate vet. We started going there in the 80's and Dr. Batch was kind,…read morecompassionate, and competent. He cared for all my dogs and cats with diligence. There's no telling how much I have paid for my pets' care, but that's besides the point. I brought in my small Jack Russell to be treated for minor symptoms ( she was in heat and wanted to get her spayed). I had taken her to emergency care the previous day, and they prescribed her trazodone for anxiety. When I followed up with Mesa, the vet, Shelby Stephens DVM, suggested a series of tests, and I followed her advice. Cost wasn't an issue. But it came to light that this is an EXTREMELY COMMON SYMPTOM of small female dogs in heat. I was presented with a bill of $292, and told to continue to give her trazodone as prescribed. There were no services or test results provided at the time or after. When it was time to check out, I didn't have my wallet. This really worried me, as I had just returned from the dentist and knew I had it then. I had gone home afterwards to change clothes and pick up my wife and dog. I was extremely worried where my wallet was! I told the front desk at Mesa that I would call them and pay over the phone, or return with payment. The tech person (not the actual vet) said that my wife and dog would need to stay there until payment was received. Basically, they demanded human collateral. I was none too pleased, given that I had spent well over $50, 000 at this clinic since 1985. But I returned home, luckily found the wallet, and returned home, and paid the bill in full. I also decided I was not going to back to Mesa vet under any circumstances. THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART. I requested vet records for my new vet, and included in these records were the " testimony" from a vet tech saying that I accused him of " touching my pet wrong". I HAD NO IDEA THAT MY PET'S MEDICAL HISTORY INCLUDED LIES FROM A VET TECH. the full page he wrote covering his ass, and the vet, Shelby Stephens, signed off on this record. They knew it was false. They were covering their asses, but being untruthful. To me, that's as unscrupulous as it gets. It was the tech who demanded my wife & agitated dog wait until I returned with payment. I only discovered this when my new vet informed me. This business has lost it's heart & soul; they simply want your money, and will gouge you at every opportunity. The owners, DR. Steven Batch & Dr. Rachwal, are retired, and cannot be contacted. They ran a solid operation. Stay away from this cooperate run vet. They can't be trusted with your pet or even to tell a simple truth. I am just trying to take care of my dogs and pets, but I am not alone in discovering what a terrible business MESA VET has become. THEY CARE FAR MORE ABOUT PROFITS THAN YOUR ANIMALS. 7/10/29 response to Mesa Veterinarian Clinic: Mesa Vet simply will NOT accept responsibility for anything under any circumstances. One of the new owners, Christine Horst, responded to my review & doubled down on her idea that her business did nothing wrong. Chistine's legalese and false sincerity are disconcerting, but expected given her corporate mentality towards animal welfare. This is a trivial issue, and I can only imagine how defensive they become over major ones. I've never owned a female dog before this one, and sincerely needed advice on how to deal with premenstrual issues; that was all. I agreed to the test they recommended, and whatever else they felt was necessary. It turned out that the tests were unnecessary, and Mesa most likely knew that, having experience with dogs in heat (this was confirmed by two different vets who stated these were VERY common/ normal symptoms). Regardless, stating that my "companion (my wife) voluntarily offered to remain at the hospital while payment was retrieved; she was not required to do so" is patently FALSE. The 20 year old vet tech stated she (my wife) would need to stay there until payment was rendered. This same vet tech's comments (that you included in my pet's medical records) say that I accused him of "touching my pet wrong". Once again, this is preposterous. In addition to a misdiagnosis, they also failed to notify me of an very important one; degenerative gum disease. Mesa was the only vet to ever see the dog, and while she's only 3, she needed dental treatment. They gave us a toothbrush, and we explained she already had one and used it weekly. If they'd done the job we trusted them with, this would have been an overt and obvious health concern. The dog recently needed to have 12 teeth pulled, a mere seven months after we placed our trust in their offices. I have no idea how they missed that! If they hadn't demanded my wife and sick dog remain in their offices, we'd have continued to trust them. Cost isn't an issue for my pet's health, but trust certainly is. Christine Hurst's platitudes and false statements confirm my belief that I was wise to seek another vet.

Furthermore, if you simply check these things when customers make the appointment rather than waiting until they drive all the way there to say you feel there is an issue (especially when there wasnt) to turn them away rather than simply letting them have time to provide whatever documentation is needed then you wouldn't have list a customer. The employee named Sam,as well as the manager, who appeared quite disheveled, appeared to be taking out their anger at the customer because she wanted them to take accountability, but it appeared they did not care. I no longer purchase online as things are always missing or something is wrong with the item. What I especially loved about this dog training boot camp was that Jose (owner of WOM dog training), and his team wanted me to be part of the training at certain points (when my schedule allowed). Do yourself and your pet(s) a favor: DON'T…read more I truly thought I had found the perfect new veterinarian for my beloved dogs. The facility is clean, and the staff were consistently lovely, kind, and caring toward both me and my dogs while we were there. Unfortunately, once you leave the office, it feels like you are out of sight and out of mind. Be prepared to repeatedly follow up just to obtain an electronic copy of your itemized bill, the complete results of diagnostic tests, and--perhaps most importantly--guidance about what those results mean and what you should do to help your pet. I was also surprised that the veterinary team did not appear to review my dogs' charts before subsequent appointments to re-familiarize themselves with their medical history, conditions, or previous test results. There was also a lack of urgency when it came to basic follow-through, such as locating the appropriate tools to accurately re-measure a growth. And despite signing multiple forms acknowledging a quoted range of costs, I was still presented with an additional, unexpected charge when it was time to check out. But the biggest issue for me is the lack of follow-up and follow-through. No amount of affected kindness can make up for that. Even after I expressed my concerns, spoke with TWO DIFFERENT MANAGERS, and made a genuine good-faith effort to start fresh, the same pattern continued. After my dog underwent another expensive diagnostic test, I received no call to check on my pet and no communication of the results--even though those results had apparently been available for TWO FULL DAYS before I finally called to ask about them myself. That should not be the responsibility of a pet owner. When you entrust someone with the care of a beloved animal, you should be able to expect thoroughness, communication, continuity of care, and follow-through--not have to repeatedly chase the veterinary office for information that should have been proactively provided. Unfortunately, this experience has reinforced my growing concern about the impact of corporate and private-equity ownership on veterinary medicine. Thankfully I have found an independent practices where the veterinarian truly gets to know her patients, takes the time to review their history, personally discusses test results with you, explains what they mean, and offers thoughtful recommendations and education. They are rare but they DO STILL EXIST.

At check out my husband sent me pics of pills. I asked the vet tech why they wanted to give her pretty much a slightly More expensive version of a hip and joint powder for my active, climbing, newly 7year old cat. The vet tech said arthritis could be the source of her peeing a lot or outside the litterbox bc of hips and knees? Like she's not able to get to the litterboxes at ground level. They asked nothing about her physical activity and just assumed. I've worked with dogs and cats since 2018. The tech said they didn't know how much more potent this is than the stuff I'd find at petsmart (cosuquin ) when I asked. Very uneducated. Discharge papers say the hip and joint was for her uterus inflammation and not bc of possible knee/hip issues. They just told me the results of bloodwork and UA were good. Just inflammation. I didn't pay over $400 to not be able to see the UA and bloodwork results and just trust what im being told. I had to asked twice for a copy of lab work and I was told at first by the receptionist that they didn't even get the urine sample I dropped off Monday ....despite the vet calling to say the UA was okay. Just inflammation. They rebooked another appointment for her without permission from my husband or myself . No one talked to any of us about environmental or other emotional/stress things that could've caused her inflammation. I have 6animals, live 10 min away, but I'll be going back to my normal vet for sure Not all Corp vets are like this. A lot care more than here They're just grabbing at money, no questions to help solve the problems.
