Instead of focusing on…read moregetting proper imaging, the vet mentioned the possibility of a mass and even cancer without having the diagnostic tools needed to support that kind of concern. It created a lot of unnecessary stress and confusion. They also don't have real diagnostic ultrasound on-site, so everything gets delayed. When I went to another clinic with the right equipment, it turned out my dog had bladder stones, not a mass or cancer. The visit was expensive, the communication wasn't clear, and the overall experience left me with little confidence in their approach. I wouldn't recommend this clinic for senior pets or situations that require accurate and timely diagnostics.

We've been going here for 8 years and were generally happy with their care. However, their lack of…read morebasic medical care almost cost our dog her paw, left her with a limp, and we are moving to another vet. After recent surgery, they applied a bandage to a good leg that was essentially a tourniquet. When I called them the day after surgery to say her bandaged foot was swelling, they outright refused to see her and said that I had to take her to the ER. I begged several times and explained that she had just had surgery the previous day, but insisted they would not see her and I had to go to the ER. I took her to the ER (VCA Highlands Ranch - rock stars!) and the vet explained the issue was poor vet care - the bandage was too tight. The bandage over the suture was incorrect and the information they gave me on handling fentanyl was incorrect. The ER vet was so bothered by the poor care that she called Greenwood to explain the issues. They also did not even charge me for the care because they were so shocked at the poor treatment. Because of the poor post-surgery treatment, my pup had another 4 weeks of casts on her non surgical leg and almost $1000 in additional vet bills to try to correct Greeenwood's mistake. She likely has a permanent injury and a limp from the care. We are hopeful it will eventually go away, but no luck so far. While they called to say "Sorry" about not seeing her the day after, AND knowing she had additional issues, they never once called to see how she was doing after she had been a patient for 8 years. The lack of professional care and knowledge and basic lack of care for our dog has forced us to change vets.

Dr. Annie Meacham wanted to evaluate her with a physical (upselling at it's best) or up her Prozac. I said no, I need to put her down. She said she would NOT euthanize my dog, I asked "WHY?" and said to me "HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO SLEEP AT NIGHT?" Therefore I left Goldsmith with my dog. How can any Veterinarian say that to a client? This is shameful and Dr. Meacham has no business being a Veterinarian.

After a chest…read morexray and lab draw (pending results) , I was reassured multiple times that she was going to "be fine" and that her condition could be managed by getting her out of heart failure. Based on those assurances and no other reasoning to be concerned per the vet, I agreed to proceed with medical management of the heart failure. I questioned given her age and decline in kidney function if this was the appropriate plan given her age, requesting only comfort for her and quality of life. I again was reassured she would "be fine" with extreme enthusiasm. Less than 24 hours later, I came home to find my dog had died, probably suffering with her breathing , all alone. She had prior kidney damage and now suspected much more severe heart failure , and I strongly feel I was not given an honest or realistic understanding of her prognosis considering her age and condition. Furthermore, when reading the medical records I requested , it was noted that the option to see a cardiologist was discussed (which I did decline), but also which was NOT discussed but documented by vet in the records was the option to admit overnight . Of course I would've done this if it was offered , suggesting this issue is more severe than just a routine medication fix. Had I been properly informed of the severity of her health status and likelihood of rapid decline, I would have chosen her to be admitted over night , but since I wasn't, peaceful euthanasia so I could have been present with her and prevented unnecessary suffering. There was failure to appropriately communicate the seriousness of my dog's condition and end-of-life options which makes me question the integrity of the provider. Was I a bill? Why wasn't I given the full picture and the option to decide which choice to choose to have the final moments with my baby? I was heart broken to say the least and I will forever remain with the guilt that I didn't speak up more for my dog to give her the best options for comfort with her overall health picture. Disclaimer, since I would pay all the money to have my dog back, I still would like to add I paid a substantial amount of money ($878) for false reassurance. I can however say I was reimbursed for the meds which cost $200 which she only had 1 dose of because she died before I could even treat her.

Regardless, I have a 12 year old cat that I've brought here for a regular check up, teeth removal, and mani/pedi (not sure what the official name is? Nail clipping I guess but mani/pedi sounds more fun). Of note, I do not have pet insurance. Despite that I thought the prices so far have been reasonable given location. For the teeth removal they have a brochure that explains what the cost includes and how much it would cost depending on number of teeth removed. They also deduct about $100 from the cost if you've gotten labs done beforehand - here is where the misunderstanding happened for us. I'd gotten a kitty check up before where a blood test was required and I believe it was slightly above $200. During the check up it was revealed that my cat would require some of her teeth removed, which I was expecting to hear (and I'd originally made the appt saying I believe my cat will require some teeth removed). I was told that they would deduct the cost of the labs, which I had to get as part of check up, from the total cost of teeth removal surgery which I was ecstatic about considering how expensive the whole endevour was going to end up being. Well, come day of surgery I'm told that no, they don't deduct the entire cost of labs, just $100. They explained to me that there must have been a misunderstanding. It was a bit frustrating to be honest but I was aware that a covering vet had helped us out last time and in all likelihood she wasn't fully aware of costs, etc associated and she probably just gave me wrong info. So, not a great thing to hear of course, but what can you do, you know? Otherwise my experience with this spot has been great so far, hence the 5 star review. I'll keep bringing my cat back here for any issues in the future. I appreciate their appointment availability and the staff I've interacted with so far have all been great.
