I parked in a designated curbside space and checked "I'm here" on the app. An employee brought my order out immediately. The employee was very friendly and the process was efficient. Perfect for a day when I was in a hurry and didn't have time to shop inside.

I find the staff and management helpful and the selections good enough for my needs. But we purchased a new patio door there and had it installed. That was mostly a positive experience, both for the sales service & follow up, as well as the door quality and install, with one minor but super annoying issue. There's a strip about 3 inches wide at the base of the footing area where the door frame meets the deck. That strip started to pull up and became a tripping hazard. I assumed this would be a 10 minute fix, either with a screw or glue. No, in fact not. That stupid strip took nearly 5 months to resolve. I'd get texts every day, sometimes twice a day that my part was ready for pickup and then eventually that it would be sent back if I didn't pick it up. That message was meant for the installer not me. I suppose I could have driven to the store and tried to install it myself but I had no intention of doing that on a $6,000 job. Come on Lowe's, do better. For the benefit of others who find themselves in a similar situation, just call the main 800 number, and escalate. That's what worked for me. Good luck!

Menards - Order Pickup is in the very back left-hand corner of the store.

I recently did so, expecting to save time and gain convenience, but was sorely disappointed. I placed an order online for a 5-gallon, food-grade pail, lid and lid opener. The instructions that accompanied my order confirmation were to enter the store and follow the signs for in-store pick-up. I did so, and was led from the front door, straight-through to the back of the store, and then to the furthest corner of the store from where I had entered. Surely, I had passed all of the items ordered during this trek. The store is massive, and if you are not familiar with the layout, online ordering would seem like a good, time-saving option, but that turned out to not be the case. Not to mention (as I mention), the "convenience fee" that I was charged to do so. This might be a good option for larger orders, but for the 3 item order that I placed, I would not suggest this.

The best value is always on their clearance items or sale items because all of their other prices are just ok. They have a rebate program that you can get money back on your purchases and they advertise the after rebate prices everywhere so when you buy your item mentally you're thinking about the lower price. The rough part is being disciplined enough to follow through with the rebate process.

I never thought I'd buy a Weber grill, as I didn't understand why they seemed so expensive. After an Ace salesman showed me some differences and how they stocked all of the parts I may need down the road, I purchased one. That was a bit over a year ago, and I haven't had even the slightest "buyers remorse". Sure, it was a lot more than one of the other brands at a big box store, but wow does it do a great job. The heat is so even, and all of the controls just feel sturdy. On top of that most of the internals are made from stainless steel and should last a LONG time. Ace is a great asset to western Noblesville. As this town has grown, we've gotten all of the big box stores, but with those comes traffic and customer service that is mediocre at best. It's definitely nice to have a locally owned store where I can go pick up the things I need without having to drive across town.

The vibe here? This Lowe's strikes me as ideal for grandmas needing to take care of their flower beds (No, I'm not hating on grandmas) and the yuppie DIY'er whose needs are basic. It's amazing how different places have different vibes. Home Depot is for the true hardcore DIYer who may even want to rent tools. Menard's is a little more family friendly - sort of an urban Rural King. Lowe's? You can get most of the basics here, however, the lack of knowledgeable staff in-store would almost always keep me from hiring anyone to actually install anything. Tonight, my needs were basic. I did ask about steam cleaners - at first, they didn't know. However, a nice gentleman looked it up and took me to the right place. They didn't really have what I wanted, however, he was helpful and even handled my cart (which was awful, you would think in a hardware store they could actually fix their carts). I did get some cleaning supplies. I'm not big on self check-out, however, the employee who'd assisted me handled the check-out - theoretically great, however, when I got to the car I realized the bill was a bit high. He'd charged me twice for the expensive item and hadn't charged me for another item. So, I trudged back in to get that straightened out (it was handled fine). Accessibility here is good. Lots of accessible spots. The doors are automatic. That's always a plus. The aisles are wide and I generally could get where I wanted to go (well, except for that awful cart). My favorite sections here? Appliances, kitchen/bath, and carpet/flooring. I find the cleaning section a little lacking and I find the customer service hit-and-miss (though, to be fair, almost always good in terms of willingness to help). This is a solid 3-star for me. I'd probably have forked over the fourth star if not for the checkout mishap. I appreciated the help - I just wish it had been more accurate. I typically go to the Glendale spot as it's closer to my home, however, I was in this area and there's honestly not a huge difference between locations. I give the slight nod to Glendale, though.
