Priced just right. I also tried their dried fish in masala now sure what it is called but it was absolutely divine. These are these tiny dried fishes made with their local spices and peanuts my god. I took it home and devoured it will daal/lentil and rice. I was traveling soon so didn't get other stuff but next time I'm there I'm definitely trying a bit of everything. Fabulous customer service, the lady and the gentleman behind the counter were so friendly and helpful. If they are the owners you guys are running a fab show I'm sure you know it. Ordered a Masala Dosa and Veg Kottu Roti. My go to dishes in a Sri Lankan restaurant. The fact that no other customers came in was worrisome to me that did I make a good choice by coming here. The Masala Dosa comes in a container sliced in two rather than the entire wrapped in foil at one of nearby place (our favourite). The Dosa (crepe) much thicker than it should be make it too doughy and filling not flavoured enough. The accompanying sambhar was nothing great as well. The chutney too thin and watery but was surprisingly much better. It hit the right notes on flavour, spiciness and salt. The Kottu Roti was cooked with minimal veggies and much spicier than I anticipated. I was fine, but the Mrs not so much. And this was asking it to be mild. Need to try the HOT when I am all alone. The redeeming factor was that it contained Nutrella pieces (Indian continent soy pieces). The quantity was disappointing as well. $8.50 for a Masala Dosa (similar price to a sit down restaurant and much better quality or several $s expensive than the one sold at a nearby Sri Lankan place) and $7 for Kottu Roti - same as Masala Dosa. The flavors on the Lampriase is as 90% as authentic as you would find in Sri Lanka. And the flavors on the curries are great. The curries available can vary day to day depending on the seasons and what's available in the market. The last time I went I had Jack Fruit curry, Beans, Fish Curry, Banana Flower curry which were all really good. They are quite generous with the portions (at least the last time I went) but I am worried that this generosity doesn't lead to downsizing or totally cutting down on stuff in the future to manage the margins as this is probably the only Sinhalese style Lankan restaurant in town! Hate losing it as we have been before! Note: Sri Lankan Tamil and Sinhalese cuisines are quite distinct. While there are many Lankan Tamil food restaurants, it's rare to find a Sinhalese style restaurant. The Banana Leaf Rice and Curry you usually get at Tamil fast food places is not the same as the Lampraise.
