Super hot and humid day-we needed a cool and refreshing lunch. Walked by this place dozens of times and it was a perfect day to check it out. It's located in the Hawaii Kai Towne center, near the center. They are renovating the Starbucks next door so parking is kinda of tough. There was a special with 10% off some bowls so I got the Extravaganza in the large size. My friend got the colada. I also added honey for $1 extra. It was huge and heavy filled with açaí, strawberries, blueberries, coconut, almonds, banana slices, granola. Dang! It was good. My friend's Colada had pineapple, banana coconut topping. She gave it thumbs up A little pricey IMO- was about $15.49 (large) for mine, $14.75 for the Colada (not including the 10% off) but it was huge and we were plenty full after eating the bowl. Since the days are still hot, I just may come to get another! BTW- they don't charge the 3% merchant credit card fee that many other businesses are.

This spot has potential. There is great menu items. However they are understaffed. They were great to address some allergy concerns but then accidentally added banana to my açaí bowl, an item not listed on the menu. And while as gorgeous as the presentation was and it was. It looked beautiful and delicious could I and if I liked bananas. I don't and I can't. It's another allergen. So I went back to have it remade. The staff seemed confused. So there may need to be a menu update or simply an invite for more presence/training. I waited in a moderately long line, and they made as new one. Except this time, presentation and ratios were off. By the time I got it, I was already late, and to have it addressed there simply was not time, desire or capacity to; especially given that the line now reached the door and the two attendants were clearly at or maxed at capacity. So hire more people and take the time to get the order right. Mediums are almost $12 so it should be a good experience and getting food right for people with allergies is a must. Overall, with potential and average person in mind. It's a 3:5 star spot. There was an issue with my order.

Awesome place! We found this after hiking Kaiwi Shoreline. I had one of their açaí bowls - which was delicious. My friends had a variety of açai bowls and smoothies, and they all enjoyed them. The next day, we did the Kokohead Crater hike. I ordered the Kokohead Konqueror for the occasion and then same açaí bowl I had the prior day. Love it.

monkey acai bowl added honey and strawberries! it was the weekly special so I got 10% off!!

I was craving an acai bowl after I hiked Koko head. The bowl came out super fast! I was excited to see they do 10% off weekly specials. I got the monkey acai bowl, which was the bowl special of the week. I added strawberries and honey. Most of the bowls don't come with honey, but you can add it on for $1, which was worth it because it was a great addition and even came out warm.

I got the kale tonic. Nice and vibrant pick me up. Without caffeine it was a good deliver. Fast and friendly service.

Love that there is a Lanikai juice so close to where I live here in Kuliouou. The smoothies and açaí bowls are always fresh and really good. Not the cheapest but definitely worth it. My favorite is the Kailua Monkey smoothie. I mean...you can't really go wrong with peanut butter and banana. I've tried Java the Hut smoothie which was good, had a nice coffee flavor but I liked the Kailua Monkey more. The vibe is really upbeat and fun. You definitely feel like you're in a smoothie spot. I normally place my order online and go pick it up. It's super easy and quick. This is a great place to stop on the way to or from the beach. And supporting local is always the way to go!

This acai bowl is somewhat different in terms of ordering.. make sure you're aware that they prepare/sale a couple of different bowls (I wasn't aware) until in line a the cashier asked me what I wanted on my bowl..needless to say I was surprised, so when she asked if I wanted honey ? and then she asked "what else did I want on it... I almost didn't know what to say, After there was no more confusion on my part.. I ordered the bowl, what made this one different was the amount of purée as well as its sherbet like consistency...it was delicious..even though the amount of honey made it the sweetest bowl I've ever had...it tasted amazing

Actually really good açaí bowls here!!! Kokohead Konquerer and Pitaya Dream. Great flavor and just yummyyyy! Aloha

The fresh juice is fine. I'm unclear if some of the base juices like the apple juice is actually fresh squeezed or comes out of a box/can. For the price they charge, I should hope everything is fresh squeezed. We ordered the Ginger Snap. It was ok. Stronger ginger taste would have been better for our preference. It was still good. We also got a pineapple juice that was definitely fresh squeezed for 50% off, which was a little over $3. No way I'd ever pay $6 for that. But for $3 it was a decent deal. The store has some nice tables indoors. TASTE: 4* PRICE: 2*

The man who waited on me was very friendly and even recommended his favorite as I have never had an acai bowl before. Its a little hard for me to critique the food but the service was good. I promptly received my bowl. I ordered the bowl with peanut butter and I guess I was expecting a softer consistency, more like a yogurt but it was more like sorbet. Acai Monkey (PB) 7/10 Again, it's hard for me to really say if it's good or not. This just may not be for me. I would be willing to try something else because I was left wanting more fruit in mine. Worth a shot if you like acai!

The drinks are fine, if you're in the shopping center and want a drink. The service was good and there was plenty of parking.

Despite the fact that it's a considerably trek for city-dwellers, factoring either traffic or bus schedules into the equation, or both if you're particularly unlucky, it's a journey always worth taking. Hit Hanauma Bay along the way and make it a day trip; the only way to top those dazzling sights is to follow them with a stellar meal. Boasting a menu composed of locally-sourced produce and entirely vegan options, you'll want to take a number of friends for the best experience. Heck, get out there and make some new friends! Join one of the long communal picnic tables out back and introduce yourself; there are no friendlier folks on earth than those living in paradise, as far as I've seen. That said, if there was only one dish to order, it would have to be the Oh WOW Laulau. Wow, indeed! No where else on earth have I found vegan laulau, let alone such a stellar rendition. Traditionally consisting of fatty pork and/or fish steamed in taro leaves, this version eschews the meat in favor of hearty root vegetables, adding creamy coconut into the mix for richness. Not to be overlooked is the Tofu Poke provided on the side, claiming to be spicy but really bearing just enough warmth to taste perfectly balanced. This was easily my personal favorite from the small sampling of dishes provided, but it's a close call when all the options are so good. Another front runner is the BBQ Portobello Sandwich. Mushrooms marinated in a bright, smoky barbecue sauce practically sing between two whole wheat buns. Coconut slaw tops off the assemblage with just the right amount of subtle sweetness to contrast the deeply savory flavors within. Simpler but no less spectacular dishes include the Roasted Veg Platter and Roasted Veg Avocado Sandwich. The way that the vegetables are treated with respect, from the moment they're harvested from nearby farms to the care taken when they reach the kitchen is evident with every bite. Cooked with care and proffered generously with each serving, even the basics make the trek out here worthwhile. I'm still trying to recreate that impossibly umami gravy offered on the side. It's one of those things that are so astoundingly, inconceivably delicious, it's impossible to deconstruct. Each entree promises an ideal amount of food; satisfying diners without over-stuffing them. That said, you'll still want to make room for dessert, especially when you see the towering bowls full of Outta This Swirled Soft Serve. Cool, naturally sweet spirals of banana-based soft serve are dressed to the nines with cacao sauce that hardens much like magic shell, granola and coconut flakes tumbling down the mountainous terrain, and fresh fruits that vary based on local availability- Expect papaya always to be in ample supply, based on the thriving papaya trees on premise. Each order is abundant enough to be a considered a full meal in and of itself.
