They came and patched my roof and left cigarette butts up there and random globs of tar here and there. Basically made a mess, plus they did the patching without even removing the pooled water first so I know it's going to leak again next year. read more

Horrible roofing company. You get what you pay for. We live in a large complex that had them do the roofing and there are still complications a few years later with water leaks and inferior work. They are unethical and were only used because many of us believe there was some kick-back monetary exchanges with our Decision-Makers. "Kickbacks often involve collusion between two parties, where one party (the kickback giver) offers a payment or benefit to another party (the kickback receiver) in exchange for their cooperation or influence." Well, that is what happened to us and every one is paying the price. read more

Lang Roofing is amazing. I had my roof replaced by them we and couldn't be happier. There were 4 workers who came here and did such an amazing job. I wouldn't use anyone else if you're getting roof work done. I would give them 10 stars if I could. They've got the best equipment, their workers all work together extremely well, they clean up perfectly after the day of work and they are extremely friendly. They know exactly what they're doing! Poor workmanship. They painted over rotten wood facing on the roof rather than fixing it or even telling me about it! I had to find out from the handyman who was working on other things in the house and happened to see it. Do not use Lang. It will only lead to problems and headaches. read more

Blocking postal mail delivery and trash collection with vehicle that is not directly involved with the roofing operation. Moreover, there are parking spaces close by but they refuse to move after repeated requests. read more

Impolite boss, imperfect service, if I had to choose I would definitely go anywhere else

I currently serve as the Executive Director at Long Beach Rescue Mission and over the past two years have worked to restore our shelters beginning from the top down. Our buildings were built in the late 80's and the roofs had never been replaced. Ryan Lang and the Lang Roofing team removed and replaced all of our roofs. For the first time in the 18 years I've been at the mission, there was no water intrusion in our buildings! The quality of their work is excellent, their team was professional and hardworking, we were able to pivot when needed (ex. adding solar tubes to our chapel), and it was done in a timely manner. Over 20 years ago, Lang Roofing re-roofed my home. It was and is a beautiful 40 year roof. With the last two years' heavy rains, however, and my failure to do routine maintenance, I developed some small leaks so I called Lang. They did a full inspection, provided a detailed report and not only fixed the leaks but did a a much-needed maintenance. I had a roof leak and my HOA hired Lang Roofing to do the repairs. They were really busy so it took awhile for them to schedule a day for them to come. All in all, it was worth it because they do good work and my HOA covered the cost. In addition, I did like the fact that the roofer showed me pictures of the repairs that he did. It looked better so I felt confident that it won't leak again. read more

A worker for Lang Roofing had road rage on me, a woman with my child in the car on a Sunday morning with a clear road all around us. Don't invite this company to your home with employees like this. If they're not screening their workers and upholding them to any standard of conduct they're not to be trusted. read more

Literally the worst group of "workers" I've ever seen on a job. Unprofessional, put a 2'x4' hole in my roof and an additional small hole in the other side of my roof. They even had the nerve to accuse me of putting the smaller hole in the roof. Broke and destroyed multiple plants, didn't even make an attempt to work in a neat, clean and organized fashion. Didn't sweep up anything after they were done and left many empty chip bags and trash scattered around our property. Set up an appointment with me to fix the secondary small hole in our roof, contacted me 2 hours after they were supposed to be here to tell me they weren't coming and that they wanted me to "pick another day" Do not hire these guys. They send less low-level punks work on their jobs. read more

These guys work fast! I called because we had a roof leak. I was scheduled for next day service. Two employees arrived on time and it took them under an hour to repair our roof. I live in a condo and Lang was replacing our garage roofs. Although I know nothing about roofs, I was extremely impressed with the team that worked here. First off they all were very polite, respectful and darn hard workers. They did this job in 95%+ and if they saw you would smile, wave and great you like a friend. Additionally I had some patio lights that were attached to the side of the garage and they carefully took them down so they would not get damaged. They cleaned up daily and very reliable. Would give them 10 stars if I could. We have a small HOA in Santa Monica and needed a re-roof. Our goal was to get a really good job at a reasonable price--and the key was finding a highly competent and honest roofing contractor. We spent time up front to do our due diligence . Asked around for referrals from contractors we've previously worked with and trusted along w/ people we've known that have done re-roofs. Before we narrowed our search to 3 potential companies, we created a checklist of all the aspects that were important to us and did preliminary screening on the phone. One of the major challenges with this process(and for that matter the process of selecting a contractor for anything) is that sometimes the best contractors aren't very good communicators(they're busy contracting, not selling) and most of the best communicators are in reality just salespeople(that really know nothing about the construction process, are just trying to make the sale and/or up-sell you ). Our checklist for screening was: Do they have a Roofing Contractor's license(didn't want a general contractor that just sub-contracted out the work to who know's what crews)? Have they been in business for a long time? Do they have long-term employees(no day workers)? Will there be a supervisor on the job the entire time? Recent references in the area on similar sized projects, insurance(worker's comp & liability), current license and no complaints at the Contractor's State License Board, guaranty on labor & material, disclosure of extra charges per foot for any damaged wood discovered after tear off and scheduling/construction time-frame. With this checklist, we narrowed our search to 3 companies, met each company rep on-site & went over the job and checklist one more time. Lang Roofing was highly recommended by the contractor that had built my home back in 2011& also the HVAC contractor on my home-their recommendation meant a lot. Ryan Lang was the Lang Roofing rep I spoke w/ on the phone & then met on site. Ryan got back to me the same day I called, answered all my checklist questions in a straight-forward manner and at the end of the call, without me asking, offered to and gave me his cell phone number--and told me to call any time. This really impressed me, as being able to communicate with the contractor is a big deal. We met Ryan on site & again, in a very knowledgeable and straight forward manner answered all our questions and went over the construction process in detail. I was really impressed, as Ryan was not a salesperson. He was a contractor that actually had great communication skills. And the fact that Lang Roofing has been in business for 40 years was very important. Ryan provided the references I had asked for & provided a written contract the day after we met(1 day earlier than promised). The contract was straight forward, but comprehensively covered all important aspects-scope of work w/ detailed description, roof deck prep,ventialtion,underlayment, metal drip edges, roof system, fastener instructions, flashing, hip ridge shingles, warranty(labor & material), clean up, extra charges, city permits/inspections, insurance & exclusions. With our bids in hand, the choice was clear-Lang Roofing stood out as the best. They weren't the cheapest bid, but the roofing was so important to us and we wanted it done right. So, we decided to go w/ Lang Roofing. Ryan was persistent throughout a very challenging roof permitting process with the city(due to COVID). Once our permit was issued, Ryan had our re-roof scheduled for the following Monday. The crew showed up on time w/ the bilingual supervisor. The job was originally scheduled for 5 days, but when the city moved up the wood inspection by one day, Ryan immediately added additional workers to be ready for the early inspection and then ultimately had the job completed 2 days early. Upon completion and final city inspection, we received an email with professionally done and captioned photos of the entire job before/after. Everyone at the Lang Roofing company was professional, efficient and service oriented-Ryan, the crew members and Kathy/Miguel in the main office.
