I calmly explained that my dog is a service animal, and she was in a stroller and very well-behaved. I had already walked past two other employees and made it halfway through the store without any issue, so this felt inconsistent and targeted. The employee then demanded "proof" or an ID for my service dog. I informed him that under the ADA, businesses are not allowed to request documentation for a service animal. Despite this, he dismissed what I said and still told me to leave. This situation was not only frustrating but also concerning, as it shows a lack of basic understanding of ADA regulations and how to properly interact with customers who rely on service animals. I felt uncomfortable and unwelcome. I hope management takes the time to properly train their staff on ADA laws and respectful customer interaction, so others don't have to go through a similar experience.
