We had such a great experience working with Gerson and his crew. From the beginning, he was timely, professional, honest, and easy to communicate with. Our backyard has been very neglected over the years and we finally decided it was time to do something with it. Gerson offered to come by within 24 hours of contacting him and spoke with us about our (very loose) vision. Our yard is large, full of dirt, and we have some awkward spacing because we built a stand alone office in the back between the house and another shed. We wanted something minimalist, clean, and easy to care for. He took measurements and gave us some suggestions. He even took the time to meet and walk us through a nursery to help us choose plants that fit our vision, and his recommendations turned out perfect. The crew worked fast, even in the Arizona heat and a few days of rain, and the quality of their work really shows. They absolutely transformed our backyard with new irrigation, pavers to lengthen our patio area, new rock, a small grass for our dog and baby, and landscaping, and we couldn't be happier with how it turned out. They stayed on schedule, kept the work area clean, paid attention to the details and gave suggestions as they went. BEWARE OF HIRING THIS GUY. See pictures and review below. I hired Gerson to install a TWO zone irrigation system, but he only installed a ONE zone. Prior to starting he confirmed multiple times that it would be a two-zone setup, per text messages. After the installation, I found out from a different landscaper that only one zone was actually connected. So now I can't control how much water my trees versus smaller desert plants get. I reached out SEVERAL times over SEVERAL weeks to give him the chance to come back and check it, but he completely stopped responding. He claims he stands behind his work with a 2 year warranty, but so far that is false. This isn't the only issue either. We have dying plants because the drip lines barely reach them. Plants and trees falling over because of not enough support and also slowly dying from improper watering from not having a 2 zone system. AND a few days after the job was complete I noticed he cut up my backwash hose line for the pool pump. He claimed he didn't see it at first but him and his crew were literally the last ones in that area. He reluctantly shipped me a new backwash hose but didn't want to come install it so I had to do it myself because he stopped responding. Yes, maybe it's easy to install but why should I have to fix your mistake??? Promising one thing and delivering something different is completely DISHONEST. Now I'm stuck paying another contractor to fix all the other problems. I've been patient and gave him enough opportunity to resolve any issues before leaving a review, but being ignored for weeks leaves me with no other choice. I had an irrigation line start leaking badly. The line was underneath a long concrete slab, with lots of water bubbling up through the expansion joints and very little getting where it was needed. Obvously a previous owner who poured the slab did not sleeve the irrigation lines. I figured that this would be a very expensive repair. But, with Gerson's help, we discovered an unused backyard sprinkler circuit that could easily be repuposed to take care of the grape vines that I needed to have irrigated. He fixed the problem on the first visit for a reasonable price. He also installed a new WiFi irrigation controller that I'd been meaning to put in place for a couple of years, but had never gotten around to doing. The total charge was just $200, which was about a tenth of what I was expecting it to cost to fix my problem. read more

I've had awful luck with landscapers this fall, either having people no-show or calling companies one at a time only to never hear back. So when a pipe burst in my drip system I decided instead of spending days working down a list of companies myself, I'd try using the Yelp feature that lets you throw your job out there and see who responds. Gerson was the first one to reply, and within an hour we had an appointment set up and had exchanged a few emails. He showed up exactly when he said he was going to, quickly took stock of the situation, and gave me two possible quotes, depending on what type of pipe material I wanted to use. I went with the second one and he told me he'd be back tomorrow. Then I got a text a while later that he was actually available today, if that worked. Our side yard had some standing water. Thought it was a broken irrigation line.... but in 118 degrees and the water remained, we knew there was a problem. The irrigation shut off valve so rusted it broke off, we had to shut wateroff at the street hence no water to the home at all. This was on a Saturday. I called our Homeowners Insurance company to find out on Sunday they do not cover it. On Sunday I made calls to a lot of landscape and irrigation companies but Gerson called me back very quickly. He said he would be here at a certain time and they did. It ended up being our main water line to the house. The repair was done on that 118 degree day and completed in a couple hours.
