No stars! JERK driver had attitude on phone. I knew this was going to be great! Shows up with same said attitude. Not friendly at all. Glares at me up and down then rolls his window down as I hand him my keys. As I walk away he yells out "Is this front wheel drive?" I yell back "Yes". (Shouldn't he have known this??) He then tells me he can't tow the car because he doesn't want to "ruin it". Huh?? Is this guy joking?? They can pull cars from ravines but can't tow a Toyota backwards out of a parking space?? Wtf?? I say a few choice words to him, call him a lazy jerk, etc etc.. he then leaves. (Bullet dodged!) I'm sure AAA already knows LANDS (This contractor for them) SUCKS but I will be complaining to the city and state about them regardless. Lands USED to be good WAY back in the day. My car broke down and I called AAA, they sent Lands Towing, who arrived in less than 35 minutes from the initial call to AAA. The Lands Towing technician Steve C. was very nice, professional and so efficient! He had my car secured and on its way to the dealer :( within minutes! Thanks Lands Towing! read more

Got my car towed by this company, car got damaged by them and they dont wanna honor and pay for the damage. Not only that but their driver that did the damage got to the location already complaining about a 30min drive , spoke to a "manager today to find a solution and he was kinda rude over the phone as well, def not recommend them to nobody. read more

I would rate my experience as horrifying. No stars, but the app won't let me do that. These creeps apparently sub-contract with AAA , and "responded" to my service request. A condescending man called me on "arrival" and immediately started berating me for not being able to find my house. I tell him to hold on and I'll look outside. He keeps snapping at me to "come into the road" and he "can't see for sh*t" , which is odd, because in my experience tow trucks have some serious headlights. He then continues to berate me about the numbers in my neighborhood "jumping all over" (first day in New England, bro?). Then he incredibly rudely questions whether my address really exists. And as the owner, I'm pretty certain it does. At this point I've already heard enough, but then he says he's at my neighbors house, and the number he provides matches. I'm already outside looking for this lazy idiot, and I'm near my neighbors house. No lights or signs of a vehicle, let alone a tow truck. Is this creep just trying to lure me out into a dark street, thinking I'm alone? I'm not sticking around to find out so I tell the driver to get effed and get back to my house. One simple phrase sums up my thoughts about this company...they absolutely suck. Not my typical sentiments for even the most unpleasant experiences but in this case it's deserved. Just a tip - their hateful dispatcher will hang up on you if you call more than once to follow up. Notice to the owners - If you're contracted with the Marlborough County Sheriffs office, I'll be reaching out to them on Monday as well as the County procurement office and the County Commission to let them know exactly what hiring low bid operators means for tax payers. read more

Had them tow my vehicle a mile and a half away, the only problem was a fuel pump problem? Nothing wrong with anything else, until the mechanic ( my best friends) informed me, that the ramp driver said my door handle was broken? It was not! So had to get a new door handle $14.00 to replace, but than the door got stuck, (they really busted it)! From a $14.00 job, it cost me about $500. Total, 2 day car rental, $200.00. Plus the door handle $14.00 plus the door handle assembly arm $164.00 plus labor, $120.00 close to it, just for a mile and a half tow, and AAA recommended them? Of course they did not break it? Paid $500 to fix the injector, than another $500. To fix a door assembly unit! There like professional automotive? They both SUCK! read more

Me: Hi, I need a tow. It has to be a flatbed truck AAA: Great they'll be there in a hour Land's tells me they are outside 40 minutes later, so this is going to be fantastic! As I walk outside I notice something is amiss... Me: That's not a flatbed... Truck driver: It won't matter Me: My differential bolt is broken, it can't get towed like that. Truck Driver: Whatever, have fun trying to get another truck out. Seriously?!? I didn't even mention the fact that he would have destroyed my oil pan trying to get it on a wrecker. 30 minutes later Wayside towing showed up with a flatbed and the guy was making jokes and didn't screw up my car. Completely disgusted with this tow company my daughter and her friend broke down with a flat tire near the mall Called AAA this was at 2:15 am they sent out Lands but once Lands found out what side of the mall she was on it apparently wasn't their area so he canceled the call and left and no one called my daughter who continued to wait for a truck another 2 hours AAA was called back and discovered no one was being sent because Lands canceled the call. My daughter and her friends ended up spending 4 hours in the cold in the middle of the night all because one guy couldn't pick up the phone and let AAA or at least my daughter know they were not coming this was a mother's nightmare as I sat worried about my daughter and her friend out there alone . Got it to "turn" over and refused tow. 5 mins later: with my baby in the backseat we almost hit a car as the accelerator was stuck and had to pull e brake 3 times. TERRIBLe! Horrible service my boyfriend has been waiting for his car to get towed 38 miles. He called AAA around 4:00 pm to get his car towed. We are going on 12:00 am and the tow truck broke down on the highway around 4:00 and he hasn't heard anything from them. He tried calling for hours and no one has answered. read more

I called AAA to get my truck towed from my house to my mechanic on a Saturday and was a bit apprehensive when this company showed up, given the mixed reviews that they have received. The driver apologized for being a few minutes later than the time he was supposed to arrive. He explained that he was returning from a job close to Boston and had been delayed because of heavy traffic, which seemed very reasonable. Wayne was dispatched, called me when he was on his way, arrived in incredible time, got my vehicle towed immediately and then drove me over to a rental agency, all before their 12 noon closing time. The worst tow company I ever did Business with. They are liars and cheats. They charge you before they even do the job, then they tell you that they don't have the right truck for the job, And that they will refund your money in two hours and you never get refunded. When you call to ask when your getting refunded they lie and say that only the owner can refund and he's never at the shop. After two weeks of calling they tell you your not getting refunded and that's what they charge so deal with it. LIERS AND CHEATERS. read more

In 45 years of driving and several interactions with tow companies this has to be the absolute worst bottom of the pit company. Motor vehicle accident on 495 southbound. I was rear ended in traffic by a motorhome. We make our way over to well within the breakdown lane despite the motor home being hooked on my bumper. The accident is reported to SP. SP dispatch this lands end "rip-off company" tow service. I ask the guy to winch me off the motorhome. He says no "this car is now mine, I'm taking it to the impound lot" I explain that the car is drivable, tail, turn and stop lights work and that I did not request a tow. It's a rental and I already spoke to rental company. The guy says and I quote " If this is a rental I am definitely taking it." I politely tell him he is not taking it to an impound lot. He threatens me with arrest if I don't comply. I tell him we will see about that once the SP get there. At this point he places his truck in front of my vehicle to block my car and starts to hook it up. I stand in front of the car and block him. He tells me to get out of the way, I say no. His boss in a 2nd truck pulls up and tells me to stand aside. I politely say no and that we will settle this when the SP arrive. He calls me a "F#u(king pain in the ass". State police arrive, assesses the situation and tells the tow driver to pull me away from the motorhome and stop harassing me. Tow company charges me $100 to winch me 5 ft away from motorhome ( roadside assistance ) Me and the police drive off highway to complete paperwork. The Tow drivers were not happy they lost the tow and impound fees. These guys are vultures looking to scam anyone in a vulnerable situation. I am posting this review wherever I can. 7:43PM Walked up to my car and saw a flat tire. Called AAA. Gave them all the information, including the fact that I was in a low clearance parking garage. They said 40 minutes. 8:01PM. Got a call, said driver was on site but I had to drive my car out of the garage because he didn't have a truck that would fit into the garage. I asked, why not? I provided that information. He said AAA didn't put that in the call. I said she did, she recited it to me as she typed. He denied it. Said there wasn't anything in the call to indicate I was in a parking garage. I said, then why did you call to tell me to drive it out of the garage? He said "my driver is on site and assessed the situation". I said, this is a 2-building complex with 3 parking garages and 8 surface lots. Don't bullshit me, he can't even see my car, it is on the second level. The guy changes his tune and says, we will call AAA to get a low clearance truck. 8:10PM. Call back. Says the driver has an air compressor, can he try to inflate the tire for a drive out? I say I am not comfortable, but I will meet with him and see. I look out the window and see a flat bed drive by headed towards the garage. I ask if that is the driver, he says "probably". We disconnected and I went out to meet the driver. 8:15PM. Driver and I walk to my car. We spend about 20-25 minutes trying to inflate the tire with a portable compressor running off my car battery. The driver expresses concern, given that he can feel the air escaping from the tire. He agrees its risky to drive the car over the speed bumps and around the tight corners. He says he is not allowed to carry his equipment to my car...he is willing, but he is not allowed. He called AAA to ask for a low clearance truck. I stood next to him while he talked to AAA. 8:31PM. AAA calls me as the driver is getting into his truck. They ask, "Where do you want a tow?". Exasperated, I say (loudly) "I want my tire changed, not a tow". AAA says, the driver said your tire wouldn't hold air and you need a tow". I defended him and yelled "He did not! I was standing right next to him!". AAA says it was a bad connection and she didn't understand. We talk more and she asks me if I have my own jack. I said yes, she says she is sending him back to change the tire using my jack instead of his. I said I already discussed changing the tire without the truck and he said he is not allowed. She said he is allowed, he can use my jack. He just isn't allowed to carry his 40 pound jack to my car. 8:47PM. AAA calls back and says that LANDS TOWING REFUSED TO COME BACK BECAUSE I WAS YELLING AND SWEARING AT THE DRIVER. This is ironic, since the yelling he overheard was me defending him to AAA. 8:57PM. I called Land's towing directly to complain about the situation. Either AAA lied about calling the driver back or the driver lied about me swearing at him. I wanted to give Lands the benefit of the doubt. The guy on the phone says he knows nothing about the situation. I told the story and said I grew up in Marlborough and Lands used to have such a good reputation. Then I made a joke that I was "Totally telling my father on them". The dispatcher asked me if my father had anything to do with the company (Lands). I said, no, but he grew up in Marlboro, my grandfather grew up in Marlborough, my mother is friends with the mayor, everyone I know is from Marlborough and I can't believe Lands refused to help a woman alone in the middle of the night. The dispatcher said "If that is the story you are going to spread around... (static, I didn't hear what else he said) then he hung up on me. So, I am still alone, my tire is still flat. It is 9:40PM. Don't call Lands. If you call AAA, make sure they DON'T dispatch Lands. You will still be waiting for help two hours later. But you will have plenty of time to write a detailed one-star review. read more

WORST SERVICE EVER. we called triple A to get a tow from Marlboro to Billerica. When they got to us they told us that they could not tow my car until later around 8 pm and they would give us a call at that time. 9 pm rolls around and we still haven't heard from them. we pulled out the business card they gave us and called the number, NO ANSWER. they have the key to my car, of course first thought "what if they stole my car????" so in turn we call AAA to try and figure out where my car is and when it will be returned to me. While on hold the guy calls from a completely different number AND STARTED YELLING AND ASKING WHY WE CALLED AAA. they got mad that we called triple A and then triple A calls back and says they were sorry and they were going to file a report because they didn't do the right thing. WHEN YOU GET SENT TO TOW A CAR, YOU TOW IT THEN, NOT IN 4 HOURS. Ask triple A what towing company they will be sending to you and if they say "Land's Towing & Service Inc." SAY NO. it will be the best decision you make all day. read more

This is a rip off company! My daughter was in an accident during a snow storm and the police called this company to tow her vehicle about 5 miles. She gave them insurance information. When they went the next day to get some items form the car, she had to pay $200 to even access the car. A week later when the insurance company picked up the car and they had to pay ANOTHER $400. So they charged $600 for a 5 mile tow and a week of storage. Watch out for this company they are bad news!!!! read more

We got our SUV towed. THe driver showed up within 15 minutes with the flatbed truck. He discussed our towing options in terms of where to tow it and offered a ride as well. The driver was friendly, yet not creepy. I would recommend this towing service. It's never fun to have to get your vehicle towed but these guys seem to be very professional about their job. read more

I am very disappointed in this company. I will never use them again and would not recommend them to anyone. My experience was that we called to get our broken down car towed. They have us the price of $85 to have it towed to the mechanic. When the truck arrived the driver charged our card and then figured out he couldn't tow it and recommended a truck with dollies which that company did not have and said our money would be refunded in 2 hours. He then got on the phone to dispatch and said they would need to do a refund. We waited a week and nothing so started calling and asking about the refund. We got the run around for another week saying only the owner could do refunds and he was never there. We finally got an answer 12 days later and said we would not be getting a refund because that was there charge for showing up. They are less than 5 miles away from said tow. I said I understand if you have to charge a going out fee but the whole 85 dollars for doing nothing and the owner got very agitated and asked if I knew how much it was to run a truck and that I would not be getting my money back. I am very disappointed in this business and the way I was treated on the phone especially. read more

On the morning of 12/01/12 my wife found that the left rear tire of her vehicle was flat due to a blown valve stem. Having no spare tire, we called AAA for a tow to the tire shop 1 mile away. AAA dispatched Land's Towing of marlborough , Mass.The driver arrived with a flatbed tow truck, it had been snowing and the ramp of the flatbed was slick with ice and snow. Instead of utilizing the winch that hit tow truck was equipped with to carefully pull my wife's car onto the truck, the driver tried to drive my wife's vehicle onto the snow and ice slicked truck ramp while the left rear tire was completely flat. He spun the tires at high speed and almost made it up onto the truck but her vehicle slid back down due to the icy conditions. At this point the tire which was in good condition but for the blown valve stem, came half way off of the aluminum rim of the wheel. I told the driver to stop trying to drive my wife's vehicle onto the ramp and use the winch before he did more damage to the tire and aluminum rim. The driver yelled profanity at me and again tried to drive my wife's vehicle onto the truck ramp with the left rear tire half off of the wheel rim already despite my protests. He failed to drive my wife's vehicle onto the icy truck ramp despite a furious spinning of the wheels , one of which was of course flat and now half off the wheel rim. I pointed out to him that all he was going to accomplish by continuing his absurd attempts at driving the vehicle up onto the truck was damage to the tire and rim. He yelled more profanity at me and threatened to leave us stranded in the snow and drive away. Then he asked me if I wanted to do his job for him. I did not. He then finally used the winch that the tow truck was equipped with to pull the vehicle onto the tow truck. At our destination he refused to give me a copy of the tow-slip for my records and left. I have called AAA and lodged a complaint with them, giving them the name of the company and the number of the tow truck. The tow truck was emblazoned with a very large AAA symbol as well as the company name Land's Towing of Marlborough, Mass. I will also be following up with my complaint against this towing company with AAA for damage to the wheel rim and tire as well as my complaint against the tow truck driver for his rude abusive language and reckless disregard for my vehicle. Land's is a great towing company if you're a pretty girl. They will treat you with respect and be very friendly and WILL NOT EVEN ASK FOR YOUR AAA CARD. Now if you are over the age of 35, speaks English with an accent or looks like you are from a different country or of color, let me warn you. it will be the worst experience you'll ever have. SO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR CARD HANDY. THEY WILL ASK FOR IT. I say this because I got to experience it first hand. The man who was there to get my car was friendly and slightly flirty. (May I add he was married? Hence the ring) Couple days later, he was at the same area to tow a car and he was being rude, unprofessional, using profane language in front of children, screaming at a couple demanding their AAA card. He used an intimidating body language towards a 65 yr old man who was trying to explain he didn't have a card yet. He had just signed up for the services. Treated the wife with such disrespect, she cried later. I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. THEY'RE AWFUL PEOPLE.
