My bike needed to be serviced and I decided to give Landrys a try. The Friendly tech took the time explaining all the work needed to be done and available options. He was very knowledgeable on the parts and did a thorough job describing everything as part of the free inspection and quote. The higher end tuning service was a bit on the pricer side but it took care a lot of the major maintenance items so I think it was worth it. It took about 2 weeks for the parts to arrive and for the service to be completed. Bike was operating like new when I got it back. read more

If you have a Specialized eBike, not a great place to go for service or sale. I purchased a Creo in the Spring from them and the service has not been good. Landry's of Braintree is a Specialized dealer and has given me a slow run-around about getting Specialized to honor their warrantee. The control wire attached to the handlebars broke and it's been weeks since I have heard from Ian or Mike the manager about fixing it. We're talking about a $7,000 bike here and a very small fix. I'd would suggest another dealer like The Bike Barn in Whitman to service your ebike. read more

Do not shop here. Everyone at this location, from Sales to Technicians, are money hungry-theives. Long story short, I came in a month ago to get a simple tune up and was pressured into buying a new bike. $400 later, after being pressured to buy a new bike, the NEW bike needs immediate repairs and cannot be taken home that day. Now, with the 30-day return window closing, I'm just trying to order a new handle bar to try and salvage the piece of junk-metal i was sold. At this visit, i was told that i'd be paying $75 for instilliation and ordering fees. Only AFTER I PAY a deposit to lock in the transaction, the change-grabbing-weasel-of- a-Tech with blonde hair tells me (and again, only after I've already given him my card information) that the whole project actually "requires more extensive work than [he] anticipated." That $75 handle bar installation turned into a $300 job INSTANTLY. He didn't care- he even smiled and jeered at the fact that he just roped in another sucker. I repeat, do not shop here. They take advantage of people who do not understand how to work on bicycles themselves. read more

Good service and ending up purchasing a bike there after Dave went over all features. The bike I brought in for repair seemed to justify the purchase and they give used bikes to a great cause. There was no pressure to purchase. I made this decision after time was spent on estimating my neglected bike I have had for many years. "I'll leave it on the screen until you decide, I can do it either way" On top of it all, it was the safety issues that swayed me to the purchase. The experience showed at this place. I crashed my bike, bent the front wheel. I left my $1300. E-bike at Landry's to be evaluated. They call me the next day and gave me an estimate of $6-700. to repair, said the fork was bent. I said no thanks, they suggested they could dispose of the bike for me, I said "no thanks". I picked it up, took it to Ashmont Cycles, they replaced wheel, tire, and brake rotar. Cost, $175. I've bought two bikes from Landry's and had them serviced by Landry's over the last three years, and I have nothing but good things to say about them. Landry's excels at customer service, transparency and honesty. After less than a year of riding my 2019 Specialized Stumpjumper, Landry's diagnosed a problem with the headset that required a warranty. As expected under the warranty, Landry's took care of everything with Specialized and I was on a brand new 2021 Stumpjumper Evo within a month. Then, a year later after my Stumpjumper Evo kept blowing up rear shocks, they diagnosed a problem with that bike that had to be warrantied (don't buy Specialized bikes!). This was during the pandemic, so there were limited bikes available and manufacturers were unresponsive and inaccessible. After a month of not hearing a word from Specialized, they traded me a new bike (2022 Santa Cruz Bronson) before the warranty for my Stumpjumper had been approved, taking the entire cost of the new, more expensive Santa Cruz on themselves. I can say without a doubt that very few shops, if any, would have done this. Secondly, when they did make a mistake with my service or fail to fix something that was broken, they immediately rectified the error by either fixing the problem for free or refunding me my money. It's a great shop run by great people. 100% recommend. read more

Brought bike in 4X for skipping gear. Bought bike at landrys for $2000 e bike. 2 yrs ago. Bike has been at shop for 9 days, go pickup today, still not done need another hour. Then software isn't working need another hour. Since pick up computer on bike is not working. I was told they are updating software. Gives me bill, I ask to test ride. Still skips, they can't figure it out, said to not push as hard.?? My bike is worse now 2 weeks after dropping it off than before. The service I received when dropping off the bike along when picking it up as well, was exceptional! More so when I was retrieving my bike, this day was a bit crazy with customers but between JP, Brandon and Caleb this men went about and beyond. JP was efficient and professional all the way. Brandon, had a ton of patient with all of my questions and gave me knowledge beyond what I had asked. Caleb, gave me customer service at its finest. I was extremely parched as I stood in the 85 degree weather and I asked Caleb if they sold water. Unfortunately they didn't, he ask me if I have a water bottle in my car he can fill it up for me. I would totally recommend you shop or get your bike repaired from Landry's. Their customer service is upstanding and I truly appreciate to know my hard earn money is going to a company that cares for its customers. This is a well run bike shop. There's staff there that are very friendly and helpful. If this is reasonably close to you then this is the only bike shop you should be going to. The others don't really compare. They also have group rides if you are ever interested. read more

I came in right before closing and was greeted by JP and his colleague as if they had just opened up shop. Very friendly, more than patient and exceptionally professional I couldn't have asked for better customer service overall, and they were even patient with my father as he bought me an early birthday gift, a trail mountain bike over speaker phone - more importantly, this Landry's on Granite Street was the only location in eastern MA‼with my bike in inventory! Long story longer, These guys used the "wrong"parts to fix my older cannondale bike to get it up and running for my child which I voiced my opinion about using the improper parts at that very time, anywho, against my better judgment, I went along with their proposed repair believing that they were the pros, unfortunately for me , the bike worked for a couple months only to have the rear gear selector fall off , get jammed in the rear tire and ruin not only the "wrong"replacement gear selector but also blowing out some spokes to boot, I should add that after the initial repair I was informed that although they "were " a cannondale dealer they no longer were. So after being duped the first time , we brought the bike back to see if the shoddy repair would be honored seeing as the repair did not even last a full year, we were told it would be another couple hundred to put it back in order with all the wrong aftermarket parts again thanks but no thanks ......hello ....bike barn! read more

I brought my Specialized eBike for a tuneup to Landry's Braintree store two weeks ago for a tune-up. I received a call by Landry's on 3/14/22 that my bike tuneup was complete and ready for pick-up. I paid $351 for the tuneup. Since I then I have ridden the three times. The ebike is in worse shape now then before I brought it to landry's. The disk brakes squeal constantly, the bike was a mess after the tune-up, the drive train  was a mess, the chain was not cleaned as was the frame. The updating on the bikes computer was not done properly. There was a red line on the assist control that came went. I brought the bike back to Braintree yesterday and spoke with Brandon. Brandon promised me all problems would fix by Geoff, head machanic. I am not happy with the service I have received by Landry's staff. read more

The people who work there could not tell the truth if their lives depended on it. I bought a bike on April 9, 2022, but it had to be shipped from the distributor. I was notified it would arrive May 5, then updated it wouldn't arrive until May 14. I was told it arrived on May 15, but they needed 4 days because a water bottle holder holder had to be installed. I again followed up on May 22 and was told it was ready but a mechanic needed to give it a once over. I called on May 23, and was told it wasn't in yet. They put me on hold for 15 minutes, and then told me they had it, but the brakes didn't work. I went down and canceled my order. I immediately went to the Bicycle Link in Weymouth and bought the same bike. I took delivery the same day. All Landry's had to do was tell the truth, and they couldn't. Place will be out of business by September. read more

One guy with a beard looked up on the store computer one bike I was considering and then started helping other customers while I hung around for a few minutes waiting for follow-up attention that never happened. So these guys get my traffic because they are a bike ride away, and in contrast to the other review- they are right next to Chickatawbut Road, which is 1 of my favorite places to ride, and mountain biking is SO close- so I cannot think of a more ideal location (especially right off 93) I like to wrench my own bike, and some tools I just do not have- for example, I am not going to buy a headset tool. I had a project where I basically got a new fork, wanted to install it on mine, then put that XC fork on my wife's frame and then sell her old fork. I came in and asked a guy to remove 2 headset races from my forks and install them. It was less than 10 minutes of work and the guy rung it up as 2 transactions, and they were probably like $18 each, which is an absurd amount of money- but there was really no negotiating that- he had no shop SKU for it, so I think he rung it as a tube change or something (that's a ripoff for a tube install regardless- but I guess if you don't know how to do that, you deserve to be ripped off). So, I figured this place was for white middle aged men with carbon fiber bikes trying to figure out their mid-life crisis (aren't all bike shops, nowadays?) These kinds of shops are not looking to expand their demographics- their ideal clientele is established. Still, I went in this week to get a spoke for a wheel, and while I knew the spoke design was proprietary, I knew the length and how to get around it. I talked to 1 wrench who was (initially) helpful and asked me to bring the whole wheel in. Not necessary, in my opinion, because I knew how to make it right (just order me the damn spoke), but he said he could see what he had to work with. So I went home and came back with the wheel. The original guy stayed in the back and didn't come back to help me. New guy said they did not have the spoke. I already knew that. I asked if he could look it up (I had the product number). Nope, wouldn't look it up. I asked him to look up the spoke from DT Swiss and Sapim. Nope, couldn't do it. He went back and talked to the first guy who basically said "You need a new wheel" without looking into it. Nope, I don't. I need someone willing to make the sale. It sucked that I went home to get the wheel and the guy was completely wasting my time because I came back and he didn't try to jerry rig anything- he was busy. Thanks dude. I appreciate the customer service. If you are the kind of person who doesn't know how to change the tube on your $5000 bike, then you are probably welcome as well. I'd recommend other places like The Bicycle Link- but they really are the best location (and a Specialized dealer) so I will probably be back. By the way, found 3 loose 278mm Sapim CX-Ray spokes in 5 minutes via Google, and will install them myself. I have to wait for shipping, but I guess that's the price of wrenching your own bike- missing riding days because of mechanicals. read more

The service manager of the Braintree store did a great job with my bike. THE Bike is a Specialized Ebike. It had an electrical short in the wiring that took several trys to figure out. The service manager stayed with it texting updates and arranging parts and help from Specialized. The bike is running fine now. read more

Hey everyone. I have loved your shop for a long time. From a purchase of a lovely specialized road bike custom fit for me to all the other gear I need periodically, this has been my place. I totally understand how backed up you are and called to figure out the most efficient way to get my bike (of which I purchased there) in for its tuneup/adjustments without causing any undue stress on the team and the system. BUUUUUUT....the person (Cindy) who answered the phone and spoke to me was incredibly condescending and rude. This makes me very sad and frustrated. I have even been willing to wait and make an appointment for it 3-4 weeks out so it can be in the shop the shortest amount of time. I get that COVID has been difficult. I, too, work in customer service and find this time difficult. But really, Cindy - You need to work on your kindness and empathy and try to take care of people who have been coming to this shop for years and want to support local businesses. Your poorly veiled irritation is not a good representation of the Landry's that I know. I'll have to seek bike care elsewhere for a while. Maybe a different branch could be more helpful? read more

Original Review: I went to Landry's looking to purchase my first women's carbon road bike. I was greeted right away by a sales associate, however, he really didn't seem interested in fitting me to a brand, style or size bike to fit my needs. He appeared more interested in selling me what was in stock. I didn't walk away with a strong sense about the options available or what I should consider to make an informed decision about brand, style, size or fit. This may be closer to the norm, because I had to go to 2 other shops before I found the assistance I needed to make this major purchase decision. I'm really impressed with the crew at Landry's. I've primarily used another shop for purchases (road/mountain) and repairs but this store had the bike (gravel) I was looking for. I spoke with Brandon on the phone and then at the test ride and then a bunch through fitting and pick up. Orion did an exceptional fitting and then set my bike up with a bunch of extras and everything was perfect. On pick-up, they took care of measurements on my road bike and set up my shoes for both bikes - all with a smile and a deep knowledge of all things bikes. I'm converted - thank you! read more

I've never received worse service in my life. I spent $230 on a tuneup new chain, brake pads and a flat (had my own tube cuz it's an odd size). When I got the bike home, I had to Google how to adjust the brakes (bike wouldn't stop), how to remove chain links (it had 6 too many) and my spokes loosened up, so had to buy a tool and tighten them. They sent me a review to fill out via email and I crucified them. 6 WEEKS LATER, I get an email from Brandon, wants to make things right. Offered a refund (never was discussed after the initial offer) and said he would take the bike, do a free tuneup (which it just had and I paid for) and add links to the chain. He did the work, picked the bike up from my house and dropped it off. All's well. So, I get a flat the very next day. Drop the bike off, Brandon tells me no techs are in on Sunday, but he'll try to get it done and he'll text me. It's Friday now, 5 days later, and I haven't heard a thing. My bike is MY ONLY means of transport and I need it every day as I'm a dog walker/sitter. I called @ 11:30 am. Brandon answers the phone. It's been ready since Monday, he says. I said, you said you'd text me. He said, I wouldn't text you, "the system" would. I said I got no texts from anyone. Apparently humans don't follow up on "the system"? Anyhow, he says he'll drop my bike off on his way home, he goes right by my street. I say ok. They close at 6, I live 2 miles from them, it's 7pm and no bike. Not happy and will never go back to them. They are horrible at fixing bikes, keeping their word and customer service! I wanted 0 stars, but you HAVE to put at least 1. read more

Brought the bike in for a tune up and fix a shifting problem. Got a call saying that the brake/shifter wouldn't slide back into place. Odd, this wasn't the problem before, but the components are old. Told them I would live with this, as long is it still shifted. Mechanic says, fine, he'll finish the job. Got a message a few hours later from the mechanic saying the chain was too short, was a safety issue and they would change the chain for about $70. Since it was a safety issue he was going to go ahead an change it without waiting for my response. This is bike is 20 years old and has been tuned up/repaired probably 15 or 16 times by various shops over the years. I've ridden this bike probably 600-800 miles per season, so it has some miles on it, and I have used every gear its got. First time anyone has said the chain was too short and needed to be changed. Definitely had a vibe like they just wanted to find additional issues, use up that $25 contingency and wring some more money out of me. I emailed them to express my dissatisfaction- no one replied. I won't be back - plenty of other good shops out there. Bike Barn, Cycle Loft and I'll be using them. read more

Short story: Great, knowledgeable, friendly staff. High level customer service. Quality work. Cool shop. Easy to find/good location. Long story: My poor bike had been sitting outside under a cover for two years! (I moved and no longer needed it for daily commuting.) Awful, I know. But the folks at Landry's brought it back to life! It was due for a tuneup even before I abandoned it and obviously became pretty rusty. When I brought my bike to Landry's on a Saturday, I was immediately greeted by a friendly, knowledgeable employee and helped right away. They took a look at the bike and explained their "ready to ride" tuneup was $100 with with a $25 contingency for any additional problems they may have to fix as they work on it. They pointed out what I might need but explained that if the price goes beyond $125, they would give me a call to get the thumbs up from me for the new cost. It would be ready by Tuesday! I got a voicemail on Monday that it was ready (nice!) and with additional work (replaced chain, rear brakes, cables and housing) it would be $170 (wait, what?!). I was a bit shocked since I didn't receive a call regarding the need for additional work. When I went to pick up my bike, I mentioned to the guy (also extremely nice and helpful) that I never received a call for the additional services. He immediately removed the cost of services beyond the $125. I got the sense that those kinds of miscommunications are few and far between there but if they happen, they are more than happy to set it right! I couldn't be happier with the high quality customer service Landry's provided. My bike is in great shape and I will definitely be back for all my future tuneups and repairs. read more

This 2 star is for the location. It is impossible to get to this store in bicycle since there are massive highway/mall/car dealer traffic. Once you get to the store, the entrance is elevated from the street level. So, even if you bring your bike you can't not really see if it will be still there when you leave the store. I am guessing they open this store to attract the blue hill biking customer, however, that part of blue hill is not even bike friendly. What is the whole point of opening a shop at the car friendly place?Plus, majority of Braintree/Weymouth towners are biking at Pond Meadow park. The store has some inventory and is organize with pricy tags. Other than that, there are no hype of promoting green living, bike historical tour, or any customer traffic. read more
