As a die hard Cineplex girl, shhhhhh don't tell, I was hesitant to leave my VIP cinemas behind and venture into the great Landmark unknonwn. This cinema off the bat was bright and open with a big opening foyer. We were greeted off the bat with a smiling staff member. They had shown us to the concession and we got to choose from a nice selection of treats. This was the first opening after the big shut downs and you really could see that the staff were excited to be back. Did I mention that you can take your drinks with you to any cinema? Spirit the horse movie definitely became more enjoyable after a smirnoff ice, or two. The Theatre is also really nice, each chair is a recliner and very comfortable. He's actually got a background in classical theatre EVERY seat is a reclining laz-y-boy style chair. Each grouping of 2 chairs also has the ability to raise the armrest so that you can snuggle with your movie date! Beverages are serve yourself with a bazillion flavor shot options. Weekdays box open currently opens at 230pm but you can also buy/redeem tix online to select your seats in advance. All seats are assigned so no rush to get there an hour in advance for your movie premiere or Friday date night. WOW! My first time trying out the amazing recliners at this theatre. I've been missing out! This definitely takes public movie watching to a different level! I bought my tickets online. The concession food line up was very organized. In the theatre the rows and seats were clearly labelled. There was plenty of legroom, even after reclining horizontally. I had my popcorn, pop and candy at my side. It was definitely a comfortable way to take in a movie. It's crazy that this wasn't even sold as a VIP theatre experience. It sure felt luxurious to me. The icing on the cake is that we bought cheap tickets for $6.99 - a special long weekend price. All this for such a low price! Love it! read more

I can't believe I did not know about this place until just recently. I have been here a couple of times now and it has been fantastic. They have the best reclining seats, a clean concession with a pop machine that you mix and match flavours, and great pricing. I have to admit I'm not one to go to first run movies all the time - but this is definitely worth the trip. Yes, it can be a little bit of a drive from the city but it is worth the trip. The staff were very friendly and sitting in those reclining seats might even be nicer than laying on the sofa! They allow the armrest to lift up between the seats so you can even snuggle with your sweetie - bring a blanket, put your feet up and enjoy the show! read more

Wow - who knew a theatre would be more comfortable than watching a movie at home? Wonderful, heavenly reclining seats that are adjustable, plenty of space between rows, even the front rows are good viewing. I had mostly given up going to the movies because it was uncomfortable and crowded, but this place is fantastic. You reserve your seat in advance, so no worry about where you'll sit or if your party can all sit together. Love it! The entry lobby is huge and even a long line for refreshments moves along at an acceptable space. You self-serve your drink and the choices are almost endless, as you can mix flavours any way you want. Then add your own butter for your popcorn, go down a spacious hallway to nicely kept washrooms, including a private one for handicap or family use. Kudos all around! read more

If you like your present cinema I don't suggest you come here because once you do you may not enjoy your movie experience as much. I mean unless you already go to a landmark cinema. This place has the most comfortable seating you can imagine. Soft reclining seats that you could absolutely take a nap in. There is generous amount of leg space so if you have to pee in the middle of the movie half the theatre doesn't have to stand up to let you get by. Also the drinks are self serve so you have unlimited amount of refills and there are several add in flavour options so you can create whatever flavour you want. Oh and on top of all that all seating is pre selected so you always know where you're sitting before your movie begins. Three thumbs up. Only downside I now have to drive twice the distance to see a movie because our old cineplex theatre doesn't hold a candle to this place. And the room temperature is always spot on. read more

My new fave theatre. The lazy boy recliners are so awesome and comfy, let's hope they can maintain them and keep them clean. Prices are also way better than Cineplex and they even have real half price Tuesdays at $8.50! Another thing I love is they have more selections of combos at better prices, if not a big fan of big popcorn sizes, they do everything from mini snack size combos (about $12) to the large sizes. I do love how they have huge selection of self serve fountain pop (and refillable), but the line ups can be long so make sure to give yourself plenty of time if getting drinks. Lastly, the turn to get into the parking lot can be tricky if it's your first time. Don't turn off into the Home Depot one, as there's no way over to the theatre lot. Go one more up to the next turn. Now my only worry is once word gets that this place will get even more busier. read more

Have you ever sat in the first or second row of a movie theatre? If you have, you know it sucks - you have to lean all the way back, the image is distorted because you're so close and for the next day or two, your neck is sore as hell. That's not a problem at Landmark's new theatre in St. Albert. Every chair is a full on Lazyboy recliner, with big armrests and lots of comfy padding - no more rubbing elbows with the person next to you. And because they recline to almost horizontal, you can sit in the first or second row and still enjoy the movie. If that was the only innovation, it would be cool, but not that notable. But Landmark added lots of other nice features to their theatre. The next best is the option to choose your seat(s) at no additional cost. IIRC, Cineplex charges an extra $3 for that privilege. That means you can book online (through their an app or website), buy your tickets and choose your seat all at once. That means you don't have to show up an hour before a new movie to get a seat. And that's for the same price as regular ticket at the Cineplex Odeon up the road on St. Albert Trail. Finally, they have the greatest invention in soft drinks in recent times - Coca-Cola Freestyle. Instead of a limited choice of pop, you can have just about any crazy combination you want, like Orange Coke Zero, Grape Gingerale, and so on. Landmark has four or five fountains in the lobby, which also means free refills! Landmark also has a package deal for $110 that gets you 10 admissions, a bunch of coupons and other goodies, so if you're willing to pay up front, ticket prices are even better. Of course the package deal is redeemable online, so you can buy and book without lining up. The lobby has lots of windows and is open and inviting, and the concession has the usual assortment of movie snacks. I also like the drop off zone near the doors, it will come in handy next winter. The only complaint I have is that the theatre should be twice the size, because when word gets out about this place, I'm probably going to have a heck of a time getting seats for movies! read more

The seating is spectacular I still don't understand why only three maybe four registers are open with six staff behind the counter and at least two visiting one another at any one time. Definitely prefer Landmark over Cineplex for the theatre themselves but you can't beat Cineplex buttered popcorn. It truly is better than Landmark's. read more

Oh man are these seats ever fantastic. I'm usually moving around a lot during a movie because my legs get sore or I'm feeling squished. But not here. The seats recline beautifully and you can lift the armrest between the two seats if you want to cuddle more comfortably. The only downside to the way the seats are set up is that because you're in your little "bubble" with the person next to you, it seems to encourage some to forget they're in a theatre and talk more loudly than they normally would in that situation. It was more like watching a movie on your buddy's couch. Still enjoyable once I tuned that out though. Concession lines are LONG. There's an express line to pick up items that were pre-purchased online, but nobody had done that so they eventually opened it up to everyone else. Sign up for their emails and get a free medium popcorn on your next visit! My biggest complaint though is about the washrooms. First of all, the stall doors default to closed, so you have to push on the door to tell if somebody is in the stall. Secondly, the big toilet paper roll is way too large for the space and actually touches my leg when I sit on the toilet. This is disgusting because when you flush, all those germs splash up onto it and then it touches me. gross. I know I'm not tiny, but I don't consider myself large enough that public washrooms should be that inconvenient for me. It's uncomfortable. Overall though, the theatre is fantastic. And they are building a Canadian Brewhouse and a Brown's Social House in the same lot, so there will be lots of food and dink options by summer. Love this theater! The most comfortable theater I've ever been in. The seats recline back and put your feet up just like your recliner at home. Nice leather seats. Plenty of walking room! No more "excuse me sir" and making people stand so you can get to your seat. The chairs are nice and wide for comfortable seating. staff was so friendly. They didn't treat you like cattle (get you in brand you and move on to the next customer) they had great smiles and nice conversations. Love the self serve pop machines, it makes the concession line move a lot faster since that is one less step they have to do. This is by far my favorite theater. LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT! read more

This is the best theatre to watch movies at. It's always clean and well maintained, we have watched many movies here. The power reclining love seats are the best! You can remove the arm rest and be able to snuggle your sweetheart and watch a movie just like home. Tonight we watched Onward and it was wonderful to enjoy the movie holding my wife's hand. No arm rest in the way we just snuggled and enjoyed the show. Considering you pay less than a Cineplex theatre and have way better seats it just doesn't make sense to watch movies anywhere else. read more

I finally checked out this theatre when they ran a promotion for the labour day weekend. The seating is ridiculously comfortable and has power reclining. The seats are wide, plush, soft, and come in sets of two. The arm rests are wide and dedicated to each chair rather then shared. Each seat has one dedicated cup holder as well. Even with the chairs completely reclined and the foot rest raised to it's highest height there is still lots of room to walk in front of the chairs. Each level of seats has a railing which is at the perfect height so it doesn't block the view while providing safety while walking with the lights dimmed. I also like how Landmark manages the concession stands as well. Instead of lining up to the line that looks the shortest, everyone goes into one line that feeds to all the tills similar to a retail store like Winners. The popcorn also seems more fresh then their competitors. Of course it's salty but it's buttery and tasty. The pricing of their combos is slightly cheaper then the industry leaders. They also provide soda machines for everyone to fill their own drinks and it's possible to get refills. The variety of flavours and options are much better then their competitors. I've been back to this theatre twice since labour day and I plan to continue to come back for most of my new release movie viewing. read more

Landmark has the new coke machine which allows you to choose whatever variety of beverage you'd like, Personally that is my favourite thing. Even though this theatre is almost a 40 minute drive away from the south side, it was so worth it! I have never been in a theatre that had recliners for seats! You could put your feet up, shift around in your seat, and the armrests are really wide too, so no fighting with your seat mate over who get the arm rest lol. The theatre itself was also super clean, and I liked that it was smaller. I have never been more comfortable while out at a movie theatre. Definitely recommend! read more

Still our favourite movie spot. Theatre was well set up for the current Covid situation. They clean the drink machines after each use, had directional and social distancing signs and had a little infomercial before the movie showing their cleaning procedures which was good to know. Ok number one- the reason why I report this behaviour is because they did not let me and my friends who are 14 of age go watch insidious which is a 14A movie they assumed that we were younger then the requ and did not let us go watch the movie, the pink haired ponytail girl asked for our school ideas what if I did not want to carry extra cards in my wallet and why would I take it to a movies, why would I show her what school I go to and what grade I am in, then she asked for our passports, what if we didn't want to get kidnapped and brought across the border and then sold to someone for they enjoyment, isn't there a movie in the theatres about this act happening around the world, we are not adults/parents so why would we carry a picture of it on our phone, the last resort she had was to ask for our learners we all didn't take it because we were stressing over school about finals then she didnt allow us to call our parents to prove our age, she also asked for our birth certificate like any one carry's one of those out dated things, why would a teenager even carry anything other then you credit card, cash and their phone, we were not able to watch the movie we paid for so they switched our tickets to barbie which by the way was terrible the only good part was ice spice during the credits and the credits most boring part of the movie. This experience was such a waste of money and time of my important life that some people there can not let a kid enjoy. Do not recommend and as a kid I would rather stay home and watch a movie read more

This is a hidden gem of theatres! It's the most spacious and comfortable seating I have ever watched a movie in. The ability to pick your own seating ahead of time is the cherry on the cake to avoid going to early just for a good spot. I never enjoyed theatres with my youngest kid before going to this one. He also loves the seats and will actually sit through an entire movie without once trying to get up and move around. read more

This is the best theatre in the Edmonton area, hands down. The price is cheaper than regular Cineplex but the seats are all assigned seating reclining leather chairs. Similar to VIP but more affordable, and better. No in seat service though. I order my snacks etc ahead of time through the Atom app and skip the big line. Plus the pop machine is one of those 100 flavour Coke ones with lots of options. read more

This is a nice change from the usual Cineplex theater. This theater carries all the first releases and is comparable in price to Cineplex. The lobby seemed brightly lit although this outing I didn't check out the concession menu. The theaters are a comfortable size with more than ample space between seats due to the fact that every chair is a lazyboy leather power recliner. Landmark is amazing. Everything from the ability to pre-order your popcorn, buying your tickets in advance online and the recliner seats are phenomenal! Landmark is my first choice when going to a movie. In order to improve, they could work on the cleanliness of the rest rooms. Not our first visit to Landmark but figured I should review it! First, it has ruined us for other theatres. The reclining seats are just ridiculously comfortable and spacious and makes the movie so much more enjoyable. I LOVE love love being able to always choose a seat and then blow in at the last minute instead of showing up half an hour early so our family can sit together...and eating all my popcorn before the show starts! I also really enjoy the pop dispensers (even though I usually bring a water bottle...shhh!) and the cool variety of drinks you can choose from - but last night they were super busy and it was quite backed up and a few people were complaining when they finally got to the front that they were out of everything but Diet Coke! Not sure how they could fix that but definitely a few people were annoyed! It also gets quite congested in the hallway between movies because it's pretty narrow, but there's nothing to be done about that. We used the Costco passes to save money on tickets too :) read more

Disappointed with the cleansiness of a brand new theatre. We were there Saturday evening for the 7:30 pm show. I have never seen so much popcorn covering the floor at the entrance, concession area, hallway to the theatres. My husband mentioned that the mens washroom was dirty. The ladies had piece of toilet paper all over the floor. The recliners in the theatre was excellent and the movie theature was great. They need an adult supervisor overseeing the teenagers to keep up the cleaning. It was a strange experience. We will not be going back. read more

An awesome experience - I highly recommend this theater for your movie going experience! Plush recline seating and leg rests that lift and that lets you a raise up a center chair arm every 2 seats so that you can cuddle if you so choose. Refillable drinks from the soda fountain that has something like 90 flavors to choose from. The price was not any different than other theaters although they could charge alot more cause there are less seats in each of the theaters to deal with the reclinable extra wide seats. Not sure how long they will be able to maintain the pristine condition of these seats but I will be making this my "go to" theater until I see a decline in the theater quality. This theater is still so new that the flag posts outside the building don't even have their flags installed yet. Not only all this but the staff was very friendly .... every staff member we walked by on our way out of the the theater wished us a goodnight. If you are in Edmonton - it is worth the drive to St.Albert. If you live in St. Albert....you are so lucky to have this gem in your backyard. read more

What a fantastic theater!!! Prices are way cheaper than you would think for a higher end cinema. And it gets better if you shop at Costco, they sell a package deal; 2 adult tickets, 2 popcorn and 2 drinks for $28+gst. (Basically the popcorn and drinks cost you $1 :D ) Plus, they don't charge extra for a bottle of water, instead of a fountain drink (Cineplex does). You can pre-book your seats online. I choose our seats, for an opening weekend, 5 days in advance. Super easy, not big line-ups, or standing at the bottom of the room trying to spot some open seats. All seats are numbered for easy finding. Seats are leather (or close to it) material, super spacious, and recline further back than I would ever recline it (as to not fall asleep, lol). It is so spacious, there is absolutely no way anyone could possibly kick your seat. I can start going to movies on opening weekend again!!!! And the cherry on the sunday is that the seats come in pairs, with the middle arm rest able to be pushed up and back (like airplane arm rests), creating a nice big love seat. Best cinema for a date night! I was so comfortable I almost forgot I wasn't on my couch at home!!! Love this theater so much, not sure when I'm going to use my scene points! read more

The reclining chairs are awesome but honestly the best thing about this theatre is that you can prebook seats for every movie without paying extra. The concession is good and had extras like fresh pretzels, cotton candy, ice cream, and large as well as small chocolate bars and candies. The theatres are pretty clean but could be a bit tidier (there was popcorn in the corners of my seat). The bathrooms definitely need to be attended to more often as there's usually toilet paper and paper towels all over the place. Parking is limited, but that is temporary until construction on the surrounding buildings is complete. Either way, I'd choose this place over cineplex odeon any day. read more
