    This is the theatre.

Alright i've been going here for years and years. Is it because it's the best movie theatre in town? Absolutely not. It's because it has parking, is close to where I need to be and there's a bubble tea place in the parking lot. The theatre usually has employees that are really not excited to have to be there. The popcorn is hit or miss. Either it's good or it's in small tiny little kernels that stay stuck in your teeth for a week. Yes I floss.... The theatre constantly has problems. The employees can't even be bothered to turn on the pre-show. We can HEAR it, but we cannot see it. Do I want to get up and find an unenthusiastic employee and get them to fix the issues? No. One time I walked into the theatre, they didn't even turn the lights on. Old men were falling down the stairs. It was PANDEMONIUM. This old man with a cane struggled to get to the 7th row up. The employees must have thought that was hilarious. It was kind of funny but tragic Another time they started the movie fifteen minutes early. Let it run for 23 minutes and then a very unimpressed employee walked in and said "obviously it started early. We are gonna let it run again." It was for that awful fantastic beasts 3 movie that had that CGI deer antelope thing die. I teared up to that. Then they made me watch it again. That's pretty evil. Not only was the movie bad, but I had to succumb to more of it. Look, go here if you like to park somewhere and drink bubble tea. Don't go if you are expecting to have a good time. There's almost always an issue so I don't ever have that much fun. Oh there's a mucho burrito outside too. Now that place is a banger. 1.7 stars if that was possible. Keep it real.

A decent cinema. No complaints they have self serve ticket dispensers right at the front so no need to queue up for tickets. They have a few food options and the usual combo deals. I've seen a few movies here, the bigger screen rooms are spacious, seats are comfy, modern and rock back for your comfort. The smaller screens offer the same seats and even some D Box rows but there is only one aisle so lots of people moving in and out if you are sat near the aisle. My fave thing about this place is Poptopia in the hallway. Those popcorn flavours are the bomb. This cinema offers D Box for new releases.

Really felt like a VIP! Booked VIP seats online; liked being able to reserve our seats. Great service in the theatre and the reclining seats are very comfortable. We had supper in the VIP lounge afterward. Really nice decor and comfortable. Great menu selection and food was quite good and well-priced. Service was quite good but had to wait to settle the bill (server said due to machines being busy.). The manager came to our table to introduce herself. I think that they are really trying to give a great guest experience and we were very pleased with their effort. It seems like Northwest Edmonton has been short-changed in restaurants and services and I applaud Cineplex for upping their game here. We will be back!

I come here when certain movies will not be playing in my nearby theatres. Nothing too different from most theatres, this place a arcade area like others but a bit bigger. It can be busy depending on events or new movies playing. The food is quite expensive, so try to dine out first or after the movie. Unless your super hungry then you can eat there but I recommend eating else where to get your money's worth. Besides all that, enjoy your movie. Atmosphere is theatre like for the public plus posters of upcoming movies. Washrooms are well kept, parking is big, and staff is friendly. Recommended for movie goers, or groups or friends or family. But please be respectful of other people, don't kick their seats when watching or speak lots during the movie. It ruins the whole experience of being in the movie itself.

But your tix online or on your phone and skip the lines!

I'm happy to report that after emailing corporate, they took the time to write me back regarding our unfortunate experience and sent replacement movie passes. Hopefully our next visit will go off without a hitch!

Good day for costumes and movies!

Near and dear to us this location has great parking, awesome seating, part rooms and has never let us down for family days or date nights! Video games keep the kids amused, restaurant food keeps the hubs happy and I can't ever get enough of the popcorn. The only drawback for this location is no VIP which forces us to leave our comfort zone and go to the south end of town.

This is the closest theatre to our home so we are regulars here. No complaints. It gets pretty busy on the weekends.

The films are of great variety from animals, environment, action, and more! Recently, I went to see Pandas: The Journey Home in 3D. It was a weekday afternoon and there were about 10 others in the theatre. It would be great to see more people watching this film but it was shown a few times that day and has been playing for a while now. The seats are assigned when you buy your tickets. I was really impressed with the renovations of the theatre. I didn't have to hold my seat down which is great for those who have their hands full with snacks. Most of the seats are in the middle with about 4 on the sides. The 3D glasses they gave you are big and sturdy and almost seemed new even though people have worn them. They are much better than the ones I have worn at the regular theatres. If you are a panda fan, this is a must see film! For 40 minutes, we got to see cute and cuddly pandas as they grow from babies at the Wolong Panda Centre in China. There's also a story of a panda preparing and returned to the wild. Love the new IMAX theatre! The price is $13.95 for adults but there's a 10% coupon in the SUTP. The best way to see lots of shows more economically would be to purchase a membership or volunteer! One of the volunteer perks is to get free passes after you've completed certain number of hours and time but it's fun to volunteer here!

I have a annual pass to this place to watch movies and enter exhibits. It's totally worthwhile because If you go during the weekdays you almost have the place to yourself or just before closing too. I like the space exhibit which actually has a peice of the moon on display. But there are tons of interactive games and puzzles that most adults play too (some are still challenging for me for the first time). There is a cool body exhibits to explore which is cool if it's your first time there to see how your body works and how healthy you are. There's also a giant play are in 2 parts of the center. One one main floor and second floor. So the kids have plenty of place sto burn off their excess energy. I could stare at the ball thing thatis ancient for hours bc that's what I used to do as child mesmerized by the journey that little ball takes. I would highly recommend watching the imax movies here because usually the only last 2 rows are sold out so there's alot of space in between people. Staff are friendly and there's alot of areas to just eat if you pack your own lunch. Annual members get a 10% discount which is really nice too! I personally think the roving exhibits are a perfect date night since there's alot to do or talk about. And situated in west downtown there's alot of good places to eat nearby. I think edmontons telus center is better than the over busy and crowded ones in vancouver or calgary. With alot more to do. I think edmontonians take this place for granted.

It was a package I had won through Yelp courtesy of Chateau LaCombe Hotel and Blue Sky Limos. This was my first time to the opera as an adult aside from field trips as a chitlin. You could certainly sense the excitement and magic in the air as we entered the Jubilee Auditorium all decked out to the nines! The opera itself was 2 hours and 20 minutes with a 20 minute intermission and the time just flew by! And in case you are nervous you won't understand the various languages, do not fret! The Edmonton Opera has a small screen above the stage that runs the translation in English during the performance! The Edmonton Symphony Orchestra and Edmonton Opera Chorus brought production alive with special help from many special cast members from abroad. Cio-Cio-San (Madama Butterfly) was performed by Anne Sophie Duprels from Paris. Lieutenant Benjamin Franklin Pinkerton was performed by Luciano Ganci. As an extra special treat, the Edmonton Opera flew in the original Madama Butterfly and Pinkerton from their debut performance 50 years ago in Edmonton for the Anniversary! Madama Butterfly also just celebrated it's 110th birthday of production this past February! My date and I were treated to cocktail hour before hand and during intermission in the Director's Circle downstairs. Post performance, we attended the cast party on the 1st floor where we got to meet some of the fantastic cast members and my husband even ran into an old music student of his that was in the Opera Chorus! Duchess Bake Shop catered the Cast Party with an amazing array of treats. I truly could not have envisioned a more magical night! Next season (staring in October 2014 and ending in April 2015) the Edmonton Opera is offering subscriptions to all three of their performances called the Great Escape with pricing for the subscription starting at only $96! I also checked out their website and noted they have student pricing available, too! The coming seasons will include Rossini's Barber of Seville (YAY!!!!), Mozart's Magic Flute, and Donizetti's Lucia Di Lammermoor! I think I may have just found my Anniversary present for my husband but Shhh... Don't tell him ;-)

But since then I've visited 3 times, once for my birthday, once for a friend's birthday, and then again to see an exhibit on Orcas. The RAM is the largest museum in western Canada. There are several permanent exhibits including the Children's Gallery, the Bug Gallery, the Human History Hall, and the Natural History Hall. I didn't visit the Children's Gallery, cause I'm an adult without kids so that would be weird, but I did visit the other ones. The Bug Gallery is really cool if you love bugs, but even if you're not a big bug person the bugs are all in contained closures, and I thought was really interesting. My favourites were the two halls, which if you couldn't tell from the names deal with human history and natural history. The human history one goes through the history of the people who've lived in this area from the Indigenous peoples who have been here since time immemorial to European settlers, modern immigration, and present day. The natural history hall has the history of the different flora and fauna that have been in Alberta. This includes exhibits on dinosaurs, which if you've been in Alberta for any length of time you'll know we have a lot of fossils here. And there is also an exhibit on various minerals in Alberta and in Canada. I like shiny rocks so I liked it. Then there is a feature gallery and a changing exhibit. The feature gallery is smaller, but the changing exhibit (when one is in) is usually quite large. The changing exhibits I saw where the ones on Angkor Wat and Orcas (different times). Both were great exhibits, but I think they've changed now. The museum space is huge, and there's lots to see so give yourself lots of time. My downside to the museum is just that I don't live nearby so it's a bit of a pain to drive downtown and park (especially with construction). The LRT is nearby (I think Churchill is the closet station. The museum itself can also get really busy, especially on weekends or if a school field trip is in. But hey, I have fond memories of school field trips at the RAM in its old location in Glenora so I hope kids get good memories of the RAM in its new home. If you're planning to visit the RAM a few times you can get an annual pass. The other option is buy an Alberta History Pass, which will get you into a few different historic sites for a yearly fee. That's what I did. You can buy the pass at the RAM and it's pretty easy to get your money's worth if you come back for a couple of visits. Not sure when I'll visit again, but I'll definitely be back.
