I usually don't leave reviews (unless my experience at a place was well enough to leave one) but I…read morethought this emergency vet clinic deserved one. Around 8pm on march 21st my cat started having trouble breathing and she started convulsing. She wasn't breathing until my brother would shake her to start breathing again. We rushed her to this emergency clinic but she sadly passed away in my brothers arms in the car just two minutes from the clinic. The team was fantastic. One of the members there who took my cat to the back let us stay there for as long as I needed and didn't judge me for crying loudly. My mother paid $600 in total for my beloved cat to be cremated and to have a clay print of her paws which in my opinion is a great price. About a week(ish) later we got to pick up her ashes and the clay print we were promised and I believe the team went above and beyond. I received a card with the team's signatures and a certificate of cremation.

I am extremely disappointed with the care my mother's dog received at this clinic…read more We brought her in because she was actively vomiting, suffering from diarrhea, and unable to keep down food or water. Despite being fully aware of her condition, the clinic sent her home with oral medications that she was unable to keep down. No IV fluids were provided, and her condition worsened significantly the following day, forcing us to seek care elsewhere. To make matters worse, we later learned that the dosage of medication she was sent home with appeared inappropriate for her small size. As pet owners, we trusted that the medications and dosages being prescribed were safe and appropriate. Learning that there were concerns about the dosage only added to our worry and frustration. What is most frustrating is the lack of communication and accountability. We were under the impression that certain treatments had been provided, only to later discover discrepancies in what was actually administered. We have also been told after the fact that hospitalization was recommended, but that was never clearly communicated to my mother during the visit. Had she been properly informed that her dog's condition was serious enough to require hospitalization, she would have taken immediate action. When we sought a second opinion, we were advised that injectable anti-nausea medication, antibiotics, and supportive care should have been considered given the symptoms our dog was experiencing. Instead, she was sent home with oral medication despite being unable to keep anything down. We attempted to resolve our concerns directly and professionally with the clinic before sharing our experience publicly. Unfortunately, rather than acknowledging our concerns, our request for a refund was denied. Pet owners trust veterinary clinics during some of the most stressful moments imaginable. We expected compassionate care, clear communication, and appropriate treatment. Instead, we were left with a much sicker dog, significant emotional distress, and additional veterinary expenses to address issues that we believe should have been handled appropriately from the beginning. I encourage anyone considering this clinic to ask detailed questions, request copies of all treatment records, and carefully review the care plan and medications being recommended for their pet.

For the first dog, I was called right before surgery and told her heart rate was a concern and they would not proceed unless I paid for additional testing or signed a high-risk waiver. I then took her to another vet who said she was healthy and cleared for surgery. For the second dog, I again received a call right before surgery saying there was another issue, this time about retained baby teeth, and that the staff member who handles that was unavailable. I was told the recommended option was to take her elsewhere so she would not need anesthesia twice. I followed that medical advice and took her home. No surgeries were performed on either dog. Despite this, the clinic refused to refund my deposits and blamed me for "not following through with services." I understand that medical concerns can come up, but being notified at the last minute twice, having no procedures done, and then being told my money will be kept is unacceptable. This does not feel ethical or fair, and it is not how a professional veterinary clinic should treat clients who are trying to do the right thing for their pets. I would strongly caution other pet owners to ask detailed questions about their deposit and refund policies before booking, and to be prepared for last-minute changes that may still cost you money.

Despite his reactive nature during visits, the team consistently makes appropriate accommodations by clearing the area and promptly escorting him to a private room. Both the staff and Dr. Hulse demonstrate remarkable patience. In contrast to my previous experiences in the Bay Area, where a multitude of medications were often prescribed, Dr. Hulse offers only firm, well-founded advice and administers solely the medications he deems essential for my pet's well-being. I genuinely regret not discovering his practice seven and a half years ago when my pet was a puppy, as I believe his health outcomes would have been more favorable. I am confident that with ongoing treatment from Dr. Hulse, my pet will receive the highest possible standard of care. As an individual who experiences significant anxiety regarding my pet's health, I deeply appreciate that Dr. Hulse and his staff consistently take the time to explain all procedures and information with kindness and patience. I am convinced that with continued care from Dr. Hulse, my pet will maintain a healthy and fulfilling life. My sincere gratitude to Dr. Hulse and his team for their outstanding work.
