We were have issues with Sisk Vet. In Salida giving us the run around and just charging us money $$$$$ for stuff they already knew she had. So a patient of mine referred me to Monte Vista Vet. I called they requested all the medical records from Salida for me they gave me the soonest appt they had which was 4/29/26. But unfortunately her health got worst called them they sent us to Monte Vista Small Animal Clinic right away they greeted us outside brought Maya in. Vet came in with Medical records from Salida Vet and told us to take all the time we needed with her, she had Cancer and other affected areas. We were shocked and devastated. From the moment we arrived, Faith, a team member, met us with so much genuine kindness and compassion. She took such good care of our boy, but she also took care of us. Every time she was on shift, she took the time to explain what was happening, answer our questions, check in on Bear, and genuinely listen to our concerns. You could tell this wasn't just a job to her she truly cared about him and about what we were going through. In some of the hardest moments we've experienced, having someone like Faith there meant more than I can put into words. I also want to give a special thank you to Stephanie, another team member who took time out of her day simply to sit and talk with us. And I absolutely do not want to leave out all of the other incredible team member and doctors who were part of Bear's care. We may not remember every name, but we remember the kindness. Every person who came into his room, checked on him, cared for him, answered another one of our questions, helped keep him comfortable, or simply showed us patience and compassion made a difference. We saw how many people were working behind the scenes for our boy, and none of that went unnoticed. Following a minor miscommunication regarding pricing from other staff members, an older employee became confrontational and began calling my husband names being racist to him!!. She even went as far as making inappropriate comments about our family and children. Regardless of any misunderstanding, there is never an excuse for staff to speak to clients in such a disrespectful and unprofessional manner. Instead of addressing the situation professionally and taking accountability for the confusion, the behavior we experienced was unacceptable. We entrusted this facility with the care of our pet and expected to be treated with courtesy and respect. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this clinic to others who expect professionalism, respectful communication, and accountability from veterinary staff.

Dr. Tia unclogged the teat, found the lump to be an abscess that she quickly took care of, and explained everything beautifully to my 10 year old daughter. My daughter was so worried about mama and baby that she was in tears. Dr. Tia did a quick well check on baby and assured my daughter that all is well now. My daughter then cried happy tears. Thank you Dr. Tia for taking the time to explain everything to my daughter, and for being so great with our babies! I contacted Lander Vet Clinic after hours and despite the holiday weekend, Dr. Blaine Melody immediately responded, evaluated the herd, conducted Diagnostics and quickly developed a care strategy. Dr. Barrett saw me the same day, gave my puppy her shots and sent me on my way. I came back a few short weeks later to update all vaccinations and I didn't have to wait long, was able to make payment quickly and be on my way. I like being able to go to a vet and not have to sit around waiting. I can get in and out of here in a reasonable amount of time. The staff is very friendly, the place is clean, they have treats and toys in the waiting area if your dog or cat gets bored. I see a lot of people come in with exotic pets, parrots, etc..., they also provide equine care. Prices are great so far, I decided to do the Puppy Package without the microchip or spaying my animal, it was about $90 if I recall and I can pay $60 on my first visit and $30 on my last 2 visits.

The staff is Nice, attentive, describe everything. While doing the spay they did offer me other things but in the end didnt charge me because my little dog didn't need it, it was only if I needed it. I only paid $75 and then another $75 for the additions (microchip, nail trim, ear cleaning, anxiety medication and cone for protection of wound) and for how well their process was, it was worth the money. The vet loved my dogs and the staff is very caring. We had a lot of laughs during pick up, I like how structured they are, they are organized even when things are picking up and I appreciate that so very much! My golden retriever is extremely hyper it can be embarrassing at times but the vet knew how to allow him to be him while he care for him and man I appreciate that so much!
