During the visit, the outlet box/cover was damaged, and I was told it would require an additional charge and return trip to replace it, costing hundreds of dollars. Prior to starting on that issue, I asked about a problem with our low-voltage landscape lighting. Within the first moments of troubleshooting, wiring was cut in two locations, the issue remained unresolved, and the wires were left exposed, which I had to repair myself. Ultimately, the GFCI issue was traced to two GFCIs on the same circuit (from a prior homeowner), but this was only determined after the visit. The total bill exceeded $400 for less than an hour of work and a single GFCI/outlet that likely cost less than $25. Based on the overall experience--damage during service, unresolved issues, and pricing--I would not recommend. Update: The owner responded stating multiple hours were spent, that all issues were resolved, and that additional work was performed at no charge. My review reflects the final outcome, including the cause of the issue and the total cost. My comments are not meant to be personal, just an accurate account of my experience so others can make informed decisions.

After looking it over Joe (the owner) gave his recommendation and we scheduled the work. The workers who arrived were on time, friendly and courteous. Work was completed quick and no up selling which I very much appreciated. After the positive experience I of course called them out when I needed new ceiling fans installed in the house. Joe again responded to the request and we set up the work for that project. Again his company was mindful of our space, keeping the area as clean as possible and working hard to get us up and running with minimal impact to our day to day. My experience with the oceanside store and hq customer service has me wondering if the employees are out to sabotage the company or if they just enjoy being deceptive. I purchased a crystal chandelier at the store, that was on display and was told it was the last one available. It was taken down and wrapped up by an employee. I asked about a discount for a show model and was assured that I would get a generous discount along with my $30 credit from registering my name with hq. on line. They gave me a few dollars discount. On a return to the store the discount was increased to the full $80 after I showed them the on line price, which claimed that open box pieces will be in perfect condition. Their installer from matt electric charged me $210 to install it. He pointed out that there were several damaged pieces and I should go to the store and swap them for good ones. As i return to the store I deal with a person with the word manager on his badge. He fumbles with the computer for several minutes and tells me there are no more of these lamps, but they will try to get me the parts i need in a few weeks from one that is in unsellable condition. (I have since found an advertisement on line with the product for $100 more, from them) I send an email to customer service on line and I get a response of "Please accept our apologies for the way this lovely chandelier had been delivered. After reviewing your order, we see Shannon A. has successfully crated a part order. For your reference, your part order number is PR00001747. Once these crystal piece ship, tracking information will be emailed to you. If you have nay question please contact us." I call them and ask about the parts being shipped and I get a response of " this is an instore order and we can not access it on line." This is not an isolated incident. The special bulbs that a store employee ordered for me on line to be delivered to my home did not arrive. A week later at the store I was told they were back ordered and could take months to get. Then after pointing out that the same bulbs were on the store shelf.......I received my purchase. So I ask is this deception or sabotage? read more

We built a brand new 6000 square foot home in Rancho Santa Fe using this Lamps Plus location and the expertise of the manager Pal Walia to create the most gorgeous home indoor & outdoor lighting experience we could imagine at prices far below the competition. These are superlative words, but we think we have the most gorgeous light fixtures and lighting ambiance anyone, regardless of price, could hope for. We chose a mediterranean, wrought iron, romantic ambient lighting scheme, indoor & out, & our neighbors in their 3 million dollar plus homes, don't exceed the elegant light fixtures we purchased at Lamps Plus for such a great, low price. Even our electrician commented on the excellent quality of the fixtures, he didn't know Lamps Plus had such well mad light fixtures. Pal helped us immensely, our home is 6000 square feet, so it was a major undertaking. He helped us organize & choose endless fixtures & make many changes and he couldn't have been more professional and understanding with his help and advice. Also, I love to a fault the accessories at this Lamps Plus store in Oceanside, the only problem is controlling my purchasing impulses as I purchase in excessf the elegant & unique home decoration items & have used their home decor boutique to make our house a home I am sincere with my testimony above & hope this review is helpful to anyone shopping for lighting. I just purchased a chandelier from Lamps Plus, after spending lots of time online....it's too frustrating. Seeing lighting in person is a MUST in my opinion. I have limited time, but made time for this finally, and well worth it. While shopping, Lori Sherlock helped me out. Took me to the right areas so I was not just wandering aimlessly, since my time is limited. Helped me narrow it down, did some research behind the scenes and emailed me other options, super helpful. I bought 2 lamps that were on clearance that are amazing and only $37 each, and then my chandelier, I finally made a choice, called Lori to have her place the order over the phone last night, picked it up this morning. If someone in the store helps you, good karma dictates that you place the order through them, they're on commission. No one hunted me down like so many commission based stores do. So it's ok to go in and shop freely. But to go in and use someones time and expertise, and then order online is rude. I work on commission so I "get it". Anyway, just my 2 cents. The fan I wanted was on back-order -- not just at Black Whale but pretty much everywhere -- and wouldn't ship for at least a couple of months. The fan is pricey (I view it as an investment) and instead of having to pay in full upfront for a fan that I would not receive for months, Adam was so kind as to allow me to pay 50% upfront, with the balance to be paid when the fan arrived. I really appreciated that. Adam was not there on the day, months later, when I went in to pick up the fan, but the woman who helped me (I think her name was Sandy) was also super-nice and friendly and loaded the boxes into my car for me. First of all, not only will Ethan Allen not pick up your old furniture, you cannot even pay extra to have it picked up. They do charge for delivery even though the cost of the furniture should cover this and there is no removal of old furniture. They deliver the furniture one piece at a time rather than waiting until everything is done and deliver it all at once, therefore leaving the customer with the old furniture sitting around the house so we would only have to pay another company one time instead of two or three to remove it. As far as scheduling delivery, they are very inconsiderate and WILL NOT work with you on a schedule, only what is convenient for them. Their attitude about any issue is "too bad" that's the way we do it. i would never purchase anything from them again.

I wrote customer service the following: Subject: Urgent: Refund Request for Damaged Caspian Chairside Table - Order/Transaction #W0036174 Dear Bassett Furniture Co. Customer Service, I am writing to request a full refund for a Caspian Chairside Table 6S24-0643 that I purchased for $949.00 during a sale. The table arrived at your San Marcos store damaged, and upon inspection, Debbie, a representative at the San Marcos store, informed me that a perfect, undamaged replacement could not be secured. Due to the item arriving damaged, I requested a refund. I was subsequently charged a significant amount, with $214.43 being withheld from my refund. I firmly believe that a restocking fee should not apply in this situation, as the table was damaged upon arrival and was never delivered to my home; I inspected it at your showroom. Even if a restocking fee were applicable, your standard 15% restocking fee on the purchase price of $949.00 would amount to $142.35. The $214.43 that was withheld significantly exceeds this amount, representing more than the stated 15%. Therefore, I am requesting a full refund of the $214.43 that was withheld. This amount represents the difference between the full purchase price and the refund I received. Alternatively, if a full refund of the withheld amount is not possible despite the table arriving damaged and no undamaged replacement being available, I request that the restocking fee be adjusted to the stated 15% of the purchase price, which is $142.35. This would mean I am owed an additional $72.08 ($214.43 - $142.35). I expect a fair resolution to this matter. They were so knowledgeable and patient as I had never purchased a futon before. Went to the futon shop on Los Vallecitos Blvd in San Marcos. Their prices were more than double that of Comfort Zone! The delivery was flawless and I was taught how to work the futon. It can be tricky if you've never had one before. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.

My first internet searches served up online options but for a sofa / bed I really wanted to try them in person. I searched more specifically and found the Comfort Zone website. To my introverted self's absolute delight, the website had a number I could text! I asked if they had queen-size frames and futons in stock. I got an I immediate reply from a real person. I replied with "dancing emoji" and he said "I can't promise that, maybe a 2-step." I knew in that moment, I wanted to give this place my business. Wayne was amazing! He listened to what we were looking for, showed us the options and in a few minutes, we purchased a queen-size futon mattress and frame. Our luck continued -- he had it in stock and it fit in our SUV! Wayne made sure we understood how to install it by stepping us through it. We got home and my husband & I put it together in under 30 minutes with no issues. If you are considering buying online -- don't. It simply is not worth the hassle and Wayne's prices are as good as or better than what you see online. Plus by going to Comfort Zone, you see exactly what you are getting. Choosing a futon means you have a comfortable bed with no seams or gaps that the click-clack style couches have. I can't say enough about how absolutely helpful Wayne was during this process. You can tell how organized he is when you look at the small details in the store. It was just an absolute delight to shop in a real store and be helped by a real person who understands his products and inventory. Wayne, if you are reading this, thank you again!!

So I just found GML on google and I'm so glad I did! They have a HUGE inventory selection, including bar stools and dining room tables and chairs (although it's mainly office furniture). I got a great used standing desk, and a new chair. I had a minor issue with the chair and they agreed to make it right no questions asked. Customer for life here!
