The hot from the oven yeast rolls (delicious)
    Dave O.

Home of the "thrown rolls" I might add deliciously fresh from the oven thrown rolls - we came here while staying in a local RV Park, it started out more of a novelty and since we had made no plans for making dinner at the campground. The home cooking was also a draw and we found the food just okay honestly, the rolls and free sides being passed around by the staff was interesting our favorite besides the hot rolls was definitely the fried potatoes. The staff here was very friendly and accommodating after being seated without a wait. We were greeted table side and given menus and placed our beverages order the beverage are large I mean really large. After looking over all the food options we ordered a hamburger steak and liver and onion plate with sides, the food arrived fairly quickly and we were both amazed at the size of the portions (come hungry or definitely plan to share if you partake in the giant rolls and the never ending side dishes being passed around as well as the ginormous drinks or you may not have room for the entree's). It was any enjoyable experience with all the history, wall decor and our visit to the gift shop. The prices are reasonable considering as well as the entertainment interactions between the customers and staff. This is likely a one time visit for us being we aren't from the area. Everyone should experience this at least once it's pretty nostalgic, definitely an all you can eat table-side buffet on steroids...

I've been going to Lamberts since 1995. I started at the in Ozark Missouri. I was excited to finally get to this one and as always, it did not disappoint- predictable menu, awesome service, and a great overall experience. I ordered the 10 ounce ribeye with fried shrimp. I asked to speak to a manager to congratulate and compliment, and Darrell came over and stayed at our table at least 10 minutes. Will definitely be back.

I had stayed at a nearby hotel that had recommended this place awhile back, and when I was finally in the area, I decided to try it. I am glad I did. Way more food than I can eat in one sitting. The roast beef was amazing. The rolls are amazing. This is most certainly an experience that you should not miss! Service is friendly. Plenty of beverage refills. Dimly lit inside.

Hubby and I went for late lunch. Bring your appetite it's a lot of food. Hubby had country fried steak with mashed potatoes and corn and also got green beans and had walk arounds of rolls and fried okra. I had the chicken salad on bed of lettuce with tomatoes and sides of Coleslaw and baby carrots. Also had a roll and the macaroni and tomato walk arounds.

Every time we come here it's a fantastic meal - come in hungry and leave full - thanks again

My husband loves this place. For me, not a good place for vegetarians but I knew that going in and was being a good sport. He got the pork jowls (similar to bacon) with two sides of your choice. He got sweet potato with brown sugar (enjoyed) and turnip greens (not his fav). I had a side salad since I was due for some vegetables while road tripping but they do have fried okra and potatoes with onions that are safe for vegetarians apparently. The throwed rolls are actually pretty good too; soft, fluffy and still warm - if you can catch them! A funny and bizarre Southern experience.

My husband and I like to come after a day at the beach. There can be a long line and our wait was about 20 minutes. These lines used to be for Cracker Barrel but they are now here!! Food comes out quick and before the at they have folks walking around with they call, "pass arounds". This can be friend okra, potatoes and onions or the best, their thrower yeasty hot rolls. Another person can top your head with apple sauce or sorghum. Really good southern cooking. I enjoy and would come back. They also have a cute little shop outside selling their wares.

I have not been to Lambert's since I was a teenager, but had such fond memories of it that I had to make this our first stop when our family went to Gulf Shores We got there around 2pm on a Monday, so we didn't have to deal with a line. I ordered the chicken and dumplings, which were just the kind my grandma made and were more dumplings than chicken, which is how I like it! One of the best parts of going to Lambert's is that they have multiple "pass around" sides that you can get as much of as you want. Most entrees come with at least two additional sides, so you're guaranteed to leave full. The best part of Lambert's is the rolls, and we came at a time that we could get plenty! I had an arm sling while we were there so my daughter became my designated roll catcher and she loved every minute of it. Joy was our server and her positive energy made our experience so much more enjoyable. She interacted with guests and coworkers with ease, and did a great job while training a newer employee.

Holy cow is this place a bang for your buck! Food was out of sight, great family atmosphere with the throwed rolls, and fantastic service from everyone involved.

"Home of the throwed rolls!" And yes, they will throw them to you! Feast for the eyes and the tummy! Everything about this place is generous! I have been here twice and it's a fun place to fill up! The rolls are never-ending as are the Pass Arounds (sides). There's a ton of things to look at here. Decorated to the hilt with all sorts of memorabilia! Old license plates adorn the walls along with photos. You'll see Clint Eastwood and JFK. There's also a vintage stove and information about the Lamberts. The only thing I don't like is that they do not provide a plate for anything that you'd use a plate for before your actual food arrives. They have rolls of paper towels on the tables. You are supposed to use some for your rolls. I also had them drop some okra onto my paper towels because I couldn't wait! They come around with Sorghum and Apple Butter which they will dollop onto your roll. The Sorghum will pretty much run off because it is like a thick syrup. A little too messy to be controlled with a paper towel. I chose the Apple Butter. The Pass Arounds. Staff will bring them around during your meal. It's like free "Add-On" sides. The Pass Arounds are Hot Rolls, Sorghum, Apple Butter, Fried Okra, Macaroni & Tomatoes, Fried Potatoes & Onions, and Black-Eyed Peas. Once your plate of food arrives, you can make room on your plate for these tasty extras! I don't recall what I ordered in 2016, but do remember it was a good place to eat. This last visit in Jan. of 2025, I got the Fish Dinner with Baked Sweet Potato & Turnip Greens ($22.50). I tried the Pass Arounds: Black-Eyed Peas, Macaroni & Tomatoes, and Fried Okra. The Fried Okra was the best, it was served piping hot! Everything was so delicious! I ordered a Sweet Tea and it came in an enormous mug! I didn't need a refill. After you've finished eating, you can head out to their little store. I enjoyed browsing. Out in front of it is a map with pins marking where people have visited from. If you're ever near Foley, AL, give them a try! They'd be happy to throw you a roll!

On a Saturday in October went about 4pm and wait was about 20-25 mins . These is 2nd time ever eating here it was better this time the last. Sides came by a lot more. Friendly staff like last time got pork chops sandwiches, and wife got chicken and dumplings. If you go home hungry it on you.

I don't see prices on the menu?

Look closer, the prices are posted on the menu.

Is there a way to join waitlist prior to arrival?

    Nope

Can you check in before you go like a lot of places now to save from just waiting outside?

You have to be there to sign up, but once signed up you can wait in your vehicle and they will call and text you when the table is ready.

What's the best time to go for quicker service?

During the week after 2pm but before 4pm.

Is there an outside dining area?

    No outside dining

Open at 10am or 11am? Seeing conflicting opening times.

    They open at 11:00

    Do they accept reservations?

We do not take reservations. You can sign up with the name taker on the front porch. They will call and text when your table is available.

Is Lambert's still cash only with an ATM by the front door?

    No it's not

Are they throwing rolls right now or taking COVID precautions?

    Throwing

    How long is the wait?

Longest we waited was 40 mins. Not bad. People always coming and going

Please help me. Does the fried potatoes have pork grease to fry them?

No, we use a canola oil to fry the potatoes.

Do they offer a carry out meal for Thanksgiving?

We will be closed on Thanksgiving day.

How long is a supper wait this time of year?

It depends on what day of the week you come. If coming on the weekend, the wait time should be around a 15 to 45 minutes. Weekdays there might be a small line.

I see on the menu there are allergen warnings for nuts - tree nuts or peanuts?

We have a Pineapple Walnut Salad. That is the only item with nuts.

Lambert's gave me a link to check my place in line. Can not find it on yelp. Anyone know how?

Click on the the check in button.

Is the wait as long at lunch as supper?

Yes it is but you can download the NOWAIT APP. And put yourself in line.

    How's the shrimp?

I had mine grilled with just salt and pepper and they were delicious. My son got the fried shrimp and ate every bite. I imagine they get fresh gulf shrimp since they are right near the coast.

One of the standout touches is the little shop inside, filled with all kinds of great finds--soaps, mists, lotions, and even kitchen accessories. It's a fun bonus that makes the experience feel a bit more unique. We came in with a group of 16, and they were able to accommodate us in a separate space across from the main area, which worked out really well. If you're planning a visit with a large group, I'd definitely recommend calling ahead. Major shoutout to our server--she handled splitting the check six ways like a pro. Everything came out correctly and fairly close together, which is no small feat with a group our size. I ordered the mahi sandwich, and it was delicious. The bun was perfectly buttered, and the fish itself was flavorful and well-prepared. They also offer a salad bar if you're looking for something lighter. Prices are on the higher side, but that's pretty standard for seafood. Some dishes were served whole--bone-in and all--which caught a few people in our group off guard, but to me, that's usually a sign of freshness. The food did take a bit of time to come out, but given the size of our party, it was understandable. Overall, I really enjoyed our visit and would happily come back.

We showed up as a large group of 13 people with five separate checks, and our server handled it like an absolute pro. Everything was correct, and their patience at the end of a long day deserves major props. Parking was a pleasant surprise--a spacious private lot conveniently located right by the soccer fields. As for the food, we opted for the fried shrimp because everyone had talked it up. The portion looked big, but most of that was the thick breading. The shrimp inside was tiny and unfortunately lacked flavor. It wasn't bad, just bland and overshadowed by the heavy coating. The restaurant itself is huge and perfect for large parties. I definitely recommend calling ahead. They offer TVs, a salad bar, and a full range of drinks--from cocktails to beer. It's very family-friendly. Prices felt a bit high for the portion sizes, but to be fair, seafood is always on the pricier side. It's smells clean not like stinky fish. They have a counter full of ice for fresh items, coolers for premade goods, and freezers for frozen items. There is also a very easy to understand menu. We were feeding 4 teenagers and 2 adults so we decided to go with 3 of the boils. We added in crab legs to two. The crab legs are frozen so you just pick out which pack you want. You have 3 seasons to choose from, mild, medium, or Cajun. We did the medium and Cajun. We also grabbed a container of their lump crab dip and a peanut butter pie. Oh and you can't forget the garlic butter. They even warmed it up for us. I will say with everything we got we probably could have fed at least one more person. We did have one teen that wasn't fond of shrimp but she ate plenty of other things. Our meal cost us just under $200. That's just over $33 per person with dessert for 6 people. The sausage was really good. It was the main thing the kids wished we had more of, that and potatoes. They are big potato fans. I didn't think the potatoes really had a chance to soak up the flavor but if you cut them open and rubbed them around it was good. I thought overall everything was a bit salty and that's a lot coming from me. I'm the girl that salts my chocolate chip cookies. I like my salt y'all! The shrimp was a bit over cooked or something because it was extremely hard to peel but wasn't rubbery. We got the large shrimp and the headless reds. To be honest with you I couldn't really tell a difference. If I did it over again I wouldn't waste the extra money on the reds. The dip was very good. It was loaded with flavor and clumps of crab just like it should be. It did not have any shells that we came across which is a big plus in my book. The peanut butter pie was very tasty. I highly recommend it! We are already planning to stop back in when we head back down for our next wrestling tournament. You really can not beat the price for seafood in the area.
