I used this cleaners weekly. The Customer Service is always top tier. The items are always cleaned as requested.

Fast service, I didn't experience any problems. I dropped off 4 coats at a very reasonable price. No complaints.

Lamar Cleaners ruined my evening dress. I had a dress adorned with a crystal broach. I asked the employee if the broach would be protected and if they could clean the dress with this piece attached to it. She said yes and that they cover items like that with foil. I picked up my dress and the crystal broach was ripped off. I called the manager who NEVER offered me any compensation for my dress. He told me to buy another broach and I'll have to bring it to another location in Woodfield Mall to have it replaced by his seamstress. Of course I declined this. Its been over a month and the manager has not contacted me again about fixing/paying for my damaged dress. I'll never do business with them again. I'm also not letting this go. If a business ruins a customer's personal items, you have to pay for it. WARNING....... check your clothing before you leave and DON'T SUPPORT businesses like Lamar Cleaners on south Pulaski. read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!! I took my daughters quinceañera dress in for cleaning, they told me it'd be ready in one week, I call a week later and they tell me it'd be another week but they'll call me when it was ready. Two weeks later I CALL THEM and the girl who answers the phone answers as if she was answering her home phone. "Hello?" I ask "Is this Lamar Cleaners?" Dhe says "yes?" OK so I ask about the dress, she puts me on hold and after almost ten minutes she tells me she can't get ahold of the owner that she'll call me back in 30 minutes. Of course 30 minutes later no call so I decided to go in person. When I get there, there are two very young girls working the front counter who clearly have to experience with customer service and look puzzled. They are frantically looking throughout the cleaners for my dress, making phone calls, secretly whispering to each other and after about 15 minutes one of them brings her personal cell phone over on speaker and has me speak to "the owner" I have to raise voice to speak to this man over the speaker bc he's not man enough to call me himself as a business owner and take responsibility. He then lies to me and tells me they tried to call me but I didn't answer which is NOT TRUE because I can prove through cell phone records with my cell phone company that they NEVER called. He tells me they couldn't get somecstains out so I'd have to sign a form in order for them to eork on it more. I obviously say "No I want my money and my dress back" and he continues arguing with me telling me he's hardly in the office and doesn't know what happened. As a business owner you should have respect, loyalty, honesty and responsibility to let clients know before they drop clothes off that you are not equipped or ready to handle big jobs. If you can only clean a simple blouse please don't claim to "clean and restore wedding dresses" because you are not even capable of honesty with your clients. Train your staff to handle clients with respect and knowledgeable on how to at least answer a business call. I finally got my dress and my money back. They gave me dress back like garbage, I took it in a bag and they handed it to me wrinkled and dirty because of course THEY NEVER CLEANED IT. read more

If I could give NEGATIVE stars I would. I took some clothes in for cleaning and others for dry-cleaning. Well, they mixed up the order. As a result, a wool Irish sweater was shrunk, torn . . . in short ruined. I went to tell them what happened -- I was unhappy but really just wanted to inform them of the error. WELL, AND HERE IS MY NEGATIVE STARS . . the attitude was horrible. The girl at the counter said nothing. A man came from the back and told me that it wasn't his fault --- He cleaned it personally and I was just wrong. The worst part was that NOONE listened to me. The man just kept talking over me. Yes they are cheap in price and theres a reason-the finished product is terrible. Clothing riddled with deep creases and today i went to put on a freshly dry cleaned shirt and they pressed a sticker into the back of a pink shirt and ruined it. When I was living on the southside, this was my go-to for work clothes. They're cheap and fast... what more can you ask for from your cleaners? I've taken in winter white wool trousers with wine and cranberry juice stains... and gotten them back perfect the next day. Awesome. read more

Ok, I appreciate the cheap prices and the fact that you can get your things back in one day. However, I took 7 brand new coats in today to be pressed only and the girl who was waiting on me had a crinkle in her forehead the entire time she was entering my things into the system. So , I took off a star for the forehead. I don't know what her problem is/was but she needs to iron out her face along with those clothes. Smh. Cheap prices shouldn't come with cheap/rude service. BTW, the other lady in there is very nice. Hope the mean girl was just having a bad day, I will see when I go back to pick up my garments... read more

This is a pretty good place to get dry cleaning done. It used to be kind of dumpy looking but it burnt down a few years ago and they rebuilt it. The girls that work there are nice and polite. They always have my stuff done the next day. read more

Service: Horrible. I was only bringing a jacket in there to get the smoke smell out of it. How can you mess up something that simple. Staff: Rude as hell. They don't speak when you come in. They ask you to pick your items up "as soon as possible" but they when you get there, they are not ready. Price: Cheap. Rip-off; I honestly think they did not even attempt to dry clean the item so they just took my money. This is why I do NOT like places where you pay BEFORE the service is provided. read more

This place seems to have changed a bit from a few years ago when I've used them last. Had a long winter parka and a twin size quilt to be cleaned. Brought it in on Saturday before 11AM, but knowing I wouldn't get the one day service. I was first overcharged for the quilt on a prepay and had to ask for the adjustment when I pointed out the rate for a twin (my quilt) was different from a queen size I was charged. Then I was told my coat would not be ready until Wednesday. I stated that I had to have the coat for Tuesday morning and would like to pick it up Monday evening. After some back and forth the woman taking my order stated it would in all likely hood be ready for Monday evening. I asked again and said if you can't, I'll take it somewhere else, she agreed and gave me a receipt that stated Monday after 5:00PM. Guess what wasn't ready Monday, hadn't even been started. Also refused to give me back the coat, said I'd have to talk with "Leo" Tuesday between 7AM and 2PM. This was with 6 women just standing there behind the counter, no one taking any responsibility. Talked with "Leo" on Tuesday, no apology, seemed actually uninterested in my business. "Leo" stated to me "all my regular customers know" about the times they need to clean things. I didn't see any regular customer handbooks laying around, so I'll just take his word. But I won't be going back, hope my items turn out half-way decent. I turned my clothes in by 2:30 on a Saturday and was hoping to swing by and pick them up on my way home from work around 3pm on the following Monday. Because my ticket said to pick them up after 5pm the following Monday, they refused to give me my items. You're not going to tell me that within 48 hrs my items were finished. And they were rude about. read more

I am not happy with this cleaners. The belt on one of my outfits was damaged, a hem on my skirt was ripped and another belt to a dress was lost. 2 out of 3 outfits cannot be worn, thanks to poor service. The cleaners promised repairs on my outfit and 2 weeks later, they haven't done anything. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. I am disappointed with their service! read more

I gave this cleaners one star for their customer service. I dropped my sweaters off Monday & pre-paid for them with cash. My ticket stated that I could retrieve my sweaters on Tuesday. I came in Wednesday instead & the young lady could not find my sweaters. After 15 minutes of waiting, she came to the front with my sweaters & she asked the young man @ the counter about why the sweaters were placed elsewhere. The young man stated that I came in on Tuesday to drop the sweaters off & my credit card was declined. That is why the sweaters were in a different location. Even though I had my receipt that stated PRE-PAID, he still proceeded to go back & forth with me saying he doesn't forget a face & I dropped the sweaters off on Tuesday. I then stated my receipt shows that I pre-paid & why would my ticket state that I can pick the sweaters up on Tuesday if I dropped them off on Tuesday. He then got quiet & proceeded to type on his phone. He continued to ignore me as I asked that same question twice. No apology. Finally, the manager came to the front & stated to give me the sweaters, because I waited long enough. I felt they were acting as if I got away without paying for a $7 transaction. I am still confused as to how they are unsure if someone paid or not. Why would my receipt state pre-paid if I didn't pay? I did call back to inform the manager of this young man's disregard & lack of contrition. The manager apologized. This is why I am @ least giving them 1 star. But, I felt the manager should've made the young man apologize. This young man should've done his research before he opened his mouth. The customers are what keeps a business open. So, it is imperative to treat them with respect to continue to have a successful business. In the end, I did not want any free services, but I did want a FREE apology from the young man @ that time. This young man should be trained on customer etiquette. This experience was extremely disappointing, because I had been a regular customer @ this cleaners for 4 years. read more
