The only reason I removed a star is because I had to wait a while for both of my appointments with them which isn't uncommon at medical providers but is still a frustration for patients/customers who might be operating on a tight timeline. The location is very convenient for anyone living in the neighborhood. The office was very clean. IMPORTANT: this is a note I'm sharing on every review I leave for medical providers regardless of my experience with them, as a PSA for others - it is NOT a reflection on the provider: ALWAYS confirm how a medical provider will 'code' a visit/procedure/service and understand how that relates to your insurance coverage BEFORE you schedule the visit/procedure/service. For example: will a preventative screening with a dermatologist be 'coded' in a way that'll compromise my insurance from covering a future preventative annual wellness check with my primary in the same calendar year? This is an extra step that can consume time but it is worth it.

The woman who did my Botox was lovely, talked about what I wanted/needed and asked lots of questions about my previous experience so that she could provide the perfect care, which was thoughtful (and also super professional!). The Botox itself was painless (they have the buzzer for you to use which is awesome for someone with no pain tolerance like me!) and was completed in under 20 minutes. It has set in now and I am no longer waking up with headaches/tight jaw, so definitely works for TMJ girlies like myself. I also thought the pricing was super fair, very much in line with what I've paid before and the touchups being included the first two weeks is super generous (I didn't need any, but neat perk!). To wrap it up, I asked if I may have the receipt emailed and she called out another email address. She sounded incredulous as if I don't know my classic 1990s Yahoo email that I've had since freshmen year. Anywhoo, I'm not the Gmail girl. We have our school email for Life so I use it for business. My point: let's not be testy like I don't know my email. Instead, I left feeling that communication, patient education, safety protocols, & billing transparency all fell far below what I would expect from a medical practice performing elective cosmetic procedures. To be clear, everyone I interacted with--including Dr. Nicoletta and the medical assistants--was polite and kind. My review is not about anyone's personality. It is about the systems & standard of care surrounding the procedure. Prior to my CoolSculpting appointment, I received virtually no education beyond an automated appointment reminder. I was never sent written instructions explaining how to prepare, what sensations to expect during treatment, possible side effects, recovery expectations, activity restrictions, or aftercare instructions. Even on the day of my procedure, I had to ask many of the basic questions myself before signing the consent forms. I was told I would simply feel very cold and that there would be little to no pain. Instead, during the first several minutes, I experienced intense burning and cramping that radiated from my navel into my lower back before the area became numb. I understand these sensations may be normal, but they should have been discussed beforehand so patients know what to expect. After the applicator was removed, I was surprised when another device was introduced to massage the treated area. Until that moment, no one had informed me that this was part of the procedure. I also later learned there were additional costs associated with portions of the post-treatment process that had never been discussed during my consultation or before treatment began. Patients deserve to understand exactly what their procedure includes and exactly what they are paying for before treatment starts--not afterward. The most concerning part of my experience involved patient monitoring. I was left alone during the procedure with a call button in case I needed assistance. I had previously obtained approval from the office to bring my emotional support dog because he had significant medical issues & a veterinary appointment immediately afterward. During the procedure, he became tangled in his carrier and was clearly distressed. I repeatedly pressed the emergency call button for approximately 12 minutes while also calling out for help. No one responded. I ultimately had to call the front desk from my cell phone while still attached to the CoolSculpting machine before anyone came into the room. Afterward, I received two different explanations--one that the pager had been left elsewhere while another patient was being assisted, & another that the battery may have died. Regardless of the reason, I found it extremely concerning that a patient could repeatedly activate an emergency call system for that length of time without anyone responding. Perhaps the biggest disappointment came after I left the office. I received no written discharge instructions whatsoever. That evening I experienced soreness, bruising, cramping, numbness, & difficulty sleeping because I had no idea whether I should use ice or heat, whether I could exercise, how I should sleep, what symptoms were normal, or when I should contact the office. I ended up searching for answers myself online instead of receiving guidance from the medical practice that had just performed a $1,250 elective cosmetic procedure. Following my appointment, I sent the practice a detailed email outlining these concerns. The only response I initially received was a voicemail regarding an incorrect charge on my bill. None of the larger concerns regarding communication, patient education, monitoring, or aftercare were addressed. Patients undergoing elective cosmetic procedures deserve: comprehensive pre-procedure education, transparent pricing, appropriate monitoring during treatment, & clear written aftercare instructions before they leave the office. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.

I had been to several consultations before I met with her, but I knew she was the one within 30 seconds of meeting. She was very clear and reasonable about my anticipated results. She listened to what I wanted and clarified what was realistic. I appreciated her honesty and it gave me a better understanding of what to expect. I scheduled the surgery with her nurse, Katie, (who is also phenomenal) and saw Dr. Cobbins a few weeks later for my preoperative appointment. I genuinely felt she was as excited as I was. She was very clear about what to expect the day before surgery, day after surgery, and follow-up instructions. She answered every single question and was available by phone, if I had any additional questions after I left. The day of surgery, I felt incredibly supported by Dr. Cobbins and Katie who have excellent bedside manner. I remember waking up after surgery with Katie sitting by me and I felt so relieved. The receptionists even entertained my mom while she was waiting for me to be discharged and I appreciate the kindness. I saw both of them again a few days later and Dr. Cobbins even met me on the weekend (when their office is technically closed) to remove the drain. The results were nothing less than perfect. I was so pleased with their size and shape, plus the scarring seems really minimal. Dr. Cobbins has also continued to follow-up consistently and has been available for additional questions/concerns. I don't think I will be able to express how much I appreciate her and her staff. Don't go to any other surgeon!

This is the first time I'm writing a review on my procedure. Six years ago I had a skinny bbl done…read moreby Dr Lorri Cobbins. I was naive at the time but I really wanted a little bit added to my bottom so I went in for a consult. I was also really skinny (like model skinny) so even then she told me oh yeah I've had patients your size or smaller do procedures by me, I wish she rejected me or at least did a less risky procedure since her skills didn't match the words I heard. My body was so perfect in every way before this procedure (just wanted a little boost on my bottom). I remember I said "I heard some peoples shoulders get bigger she was like "Oh no that's not true at all." She did Lipo to my stomach which barely had much fat, inner thighs, and back. Anyways 6 yrs later and I'm struggling with my body image. I've lost my confidence, my skinny bbl doesn't look great, can't find a solution because I have skin laxity on my back and stomach, scarring/tethering (again this is from the aggressive lipo she did and how she used the surgical tools), Lipo fibrosis on stomach and back and yes the upper back looks bigger. I followed all the instructions of wearing the compression garment and everything. The problem wasn't the aftercare instructions I perfectly followed, the problem was the poor surgical technique. She did aggressive lipo on me, took out too much fat because I was thin and ruined the look of my skin. I now have 2 rolls on my back that I never had before my procedure and I feel always bloated for some odd reason no matter what I eat healthy or not even though my diet didn't change. I only gained about 10 pounds (still at a weight women would love) but even with that if the surgical skills were good the body would grow out nice and even, it wouldn't look botched. I wish she rejected me and told me to come back in a year or 2 if I want something permanent after I try something temporary. I wish she told me thoroughly and openly what kind of problems can come up (this was only briefly discussed and none of the problems I have now were discussed as potential issues after surgery). I wish she gave me a temporary option or smaller procedure not as damaging as a first solution to see what it would look like. I didn't receive any other options. I think plastic surgeons (especially ones who've had botched outcomes from their work) need to give a couple options and really think about if the contouring will look nice with each option so the patient can have a good long term outcome and more people will trust them for procedures. Dr. Cobbins took away the most thing that made me confident back then and damaged my body. I am struggling in every way imaginable because of this procedure done by Dr. Lorri Cobbins. The most perfect parts of my body were ruined because of horrible surgical technique and now I am left grieving it. I struggle every day to look for a way to fix it and I'm too afraid to go to someone else that may further damage me. I don't take photos anymore like I used to, I don't try on clothes when I shop like I want to. I can't look at myself in the mirror the same way. Please if you want a better/different look try temporary cosmetic things first so they go away if you don't like them and you don't have to live with the permanent result of a botched procedure.

She was very realistic but also open with me and what I wanted. I always felt taken care of and like I could ask questions. She did a wonderful job addressing my partner's questions too since he would be helping with my aftercare. There was a minor complication that developed preventing my right side from dropping as it should, and Dr. Cobbins was very supportive and proactive about doing a crease revision and I was only charged a partial fee for the anesthesiologist, for the procedure 3 months after my original BA. Dr. Cobbins is approachable, realistic and caring. I had another consultation (NSPS) before deciding on Aesthetic Institue of Chicago and they wanted to charge me more, didn't really listen to me and talked down to me, trying to push me towards an incision style I did not want. I was able to tell Dr. Cobbins what I wanted, she told me what she thought would fit best and I ended up going one size below my maximum. My results are very natural looking but help me finally fill out clothing the way I wanted to. Getting this surgery and having such a supportive surgical team and doctor helped me finally have the confidence I had been searching for over many years. I went wedding dress shopping about three months ago and were it not for my surgery, I don't think I would have enjoyed the experience as much as I did nor felt as good in my dress.
