I'd say she put in 50% less effort than I have experienced with other technicians throughout the years. She did use a sugar scrub but it must have been 1/2 teaspoon on both my feet. The place was very dirty. The arms and trays on the chairs looked like they had never been wiped off and were quite dirty. Same with their tiny cup holder. The "clean" towels they used were very stained and greyish. The windows were very dirty and streaked. There was a horrible odor coming from the back room. And the kicker is that I was charged $40 for the most basic pedicure and not a good one at that! I left feeling like I sat in a germ filled chair and also felt very taken advantage of!!! She sliced and butchered 3 of my nails!!! I scheduled a regular manicure here at Lake Tye nails, arrived early and was seated. I asked for no buffing on top, as my nails are healthy and I don't do fake nor shellacs so they stay smooth. The nail technician seemed in a hurry, even poked me really hard scraping under my nails causing me to withdrawal and asked her to please be more gentle. She then began to use her cuticle clippers and used them across the tops of my nails, scraping and clipping. I didn't know she was doing so much damage at the tops of my nails until she was about to paint them. I looked down to my horror and saw 3 big, fresh gouges at the tops of my nails. One looked like it cut almost all the way through as it looked red underneath. I showed her and she said "sorry". I took a photo and then suddenly they all run over and the supervisor was like-'her cuticle cutters only used for your cuticles' I explained to her that the technician used them across my nails too. The supervisor said that it wasn't possible to do the damage that she saw on my nails and continued to deny what she didn't see, that happened. I had them finish my nails to cover the gouges at least, and took more photos to show the indentations that still show underneath the polish, as a warning to others that may use this establishment, what may also happen to them. read more

The lady didn't even have me wash my hands after buffing, she just went straight into the base coat of my nail polish which left a gritty & bubbly look under my polish. Salon doesn't sanitize any tools for manicure. I watched them pull dirty ones out the desk, use them on me, and put them right back in the desk. Fast forward a day or two and my pointer finger started to really hurt. Turns out it got infected...and I got a staph infection and had to be treated with antibiotics. I went on Christmas Eve with my cousin and my mom. My cousin and myself both ended up with infected toes. The lady who preformed my pedicure cut my big toe nail on the side way too far in and then ripped it out, causing immediate pain and I knew it would also cause an infection. My cousins pedicure went really well and he had no initial complaints, but after texting him this morning letting him know mine was infected, he said his was infected as well. My mom didn't get an infection, but said her pedicure sucked. Long story short- for $32 a person is was completely not worth it. read more

Wow and Wow! I have given this place a shot a few times . So, have some of my girlfriends ( they said they would never go back ). I made a appointment at 1:00 came in early. They looked confused I had a appointment. They sat me down started the process to remove my gel. Then 20 minutes later a woman sat down and sad sorry. Asked if I picked a color, not yet. I have not been given the colors. She stood up and Sat down and started on another woman. Lol. Then the young man came and took my foils off and asked if I wanted a manicure. After 40 minutes of sitting there. I had no more time and left. Fabulous customer service. Lol. At the same time 2 woman came in for there appointment and left because of the wait. Sanitation: Tools were pulled from a drawer (so clearly used on varying people repeatedly). The heel scraper tool was grabbed off the floor (I politely asked them not to use it on me). Tools once used were tossed into the bin WITH my feet (yuck). Quality: The top coat on my nails was poorly done. So poorly, in fact, that my skin was sticking to my nails. When I started trying to pick the clear polish (top coat) off my skin, the lady painting my toes noticed. She called the tech over that had done my nails and asked her to fix it. She did get some of the polish off my skin and I appreciated that, but the overall color and work looked like an at-home manicure rather than a professional. In addition, my cuticles were not trimmed so I had to do it myself when I got home. Price: I received a mani/pedi for $38. Great price, but would have been willing to pay more for additional sanitation precautions and a better quality result. **Disclaimer: This was my first (and only) visit to this nail salon, so there is a possibility that my experience was a fluke. read more

I'm give them a 3stars because of multiple different things. Like others have stated if your in a rush this is not the place for you. I was in there for 1hr.45min and I didn't wait around like others. I had a appointment once I walked in they attended to me right away. I went in with my sister and daughter so 3 of us. I didn't ask the nail technicians name my mistake but I had two different ladies work on me. The First Lady did a great job was nice gentle and did good on my toes. the second lady was a older lady who did my full set she was the opposite very aggressive with the filing down my nails she filed my skin couple of times (my finger still stings when I wash my hands at home.) instead of communicating asking me to move closer or to relax my hand she would just tug and pull on it. Her work at first looks like a 7/10 but once I got home and was able to washed my hands because they was so dusty (she did a quick "pat" to clean my hands off) I noticed all the glue she left on my skin, where she filed down after painting and didn't retouch, to thick to my like but after being in pain from her file my skin i didn't want sit there longer to ask for thickness to be less, for someone who took her sweet time when looking up close it looks like it was done by some who didn't care or was in a rush. Not happy with the second lady's work. My daughters toes were done by the same lady who did my toes and she was sweet and patient with my toddler My sister had a completely different lady(so a 3rd lady) did her full set. I'm obsessed! My mom introduced me to this salon, said it's affordable, low key, great service, and great nails. I got a set of pink & white acrylics with glitter on the tips. I love how they turned out. Kathy is a must if you want awesome acrylics. I love the pink powder they use, it's not too pale or pink (if you understand what I'm saying), it's the perfect pink tone that balance the white on your tips. Sweet little shop right on the edge of Monroe by Tye Lake in a great little strip shopping mall where you can grab a coffee / drink before going in and getting a mani / pedi. My husband and I have been her a few times and the folks are very sweet and very through. It's nice to be able to sit and relax in the chairs and soak your feet and visit while getting a foot massage. As always the polish never stays on as long we you think it should - but we've never have had any issues like I've seen others have at other salons where the paint chips/flakes the next day. The stations and tubs all are very clean every time we've been in and they usually can get us in within 5 minutes of our arrival so we've never had to wait. Great little place to escape from our 3.5 yr old and 2 yr old for an hour and treat ourselves over a coffee. read more

These ladies always do a great job on my nails, and are super sweet and will remember you. For $25 I can get a speedy (in a good way) and meticulous shellac mani and it will last until it grows out. I have really weak nails and the women here are always super gentle and do whatever they can to help strengthen them. The only reason I hesitate to give 5 stars is they are super crowded on weekends and it can take awhile for them to help you even if you're already sitting in the chair and because they sometimes run out of colors.
