If you visit this spa, double check your receipts!! I chose a $65 service, then left a very generous cash tip. When I got home I looked at my receipt only to see I was charged $80 for the service, not $65. It's my fault for not double checking, and for assuming they were being honest. If tip was automatically added, it was not disclosed that it would be. Just double check that you are being charged correctly. read more

They are busy which is a good sign. I had to wait 30 minutes being a walk in on a July 4th weekend. Understandable. There were six customers being worked on. Once it was my turn, the pedicure was a solid one hour service. There were four levels of pedicure ranging from $30 to the deluxe is $50. I picked the second one and felt like I was given the royal treatment considering nothing was rushed from the cleaning, soaking, sugar rub, clay mud rub, paraffin hot wax soak, the calf and foot massage. A different gal painted my French tips. I used to get this done all the time at other places in town and it would be super glossy and thick from the multiple coats. She basically did a thin coat and it just looked incomplete I feel like I need to go over it with an extra coat of clear. If she'd spend a little more time it'd be better. They line the tub and the ladies are masked and gloved up. Overall, the utensils appear sanitized and the towels they use are clean. I feel like the rest of the interior can use some TLC like the waiting room couch and the floor looks a bit grimy. With Covid, people nowadays expect hospital clean in all settings to feel safer. The French pedi number 2 came to $45 before tip. Heard cash only when you tip. Good deal for an hour of pedi! Overall 5/5 on pedicure, 3/5 on paint job. read more

I got in within 10 minutes of walking in for a last minute pedicure - the care for the massage portion was immaculate, the longest massage I've ever had on my feet and legs which is so nice as someone who stands on their feet all day for work. Did not feel rushed through at all like most places I've been to (understandably when busy) Everyone was so kind and I'm just so happy overall with the service provided. I came in for a gel pedicure and filing of my fingernails. I had no less than 4 different people working on me. My fingernails were hardly touched and I had to ask for them to be filed correctly. The gel lasted for less than a week before it started peeling. They wanted cash for the tip, eh ok feels hinky to me. Really unhappy and I won't go there again. read more

Went in with shellac polish from a salon in Arizona (awesome job lasted 2.5+ weeks). They soaked it off and did a shellac manicure. Switching people multiple times throughout. The end product was so thin and with bubbles. It chipped to the point it needed to be removed by day 6. When removed I could see the original base coat/shiny coat still on from Arizona almost a month ago. For $45 I expect way more and a better product. Won't be returning. read more

This is probably the cleanest spa in Monroe. The people are always so nice and they will do anything you want on your nails if you have reference photos and stuff. We have been going here for probably a year now and we have made friends with our technician there Victoria. We do long long nails and she's the best at it! I arrived to this spa at 9:20 because they open at "9:30" and sat in my car until 9:45 when they finally showed up. The whole time everything felt very rushed. I ended up leaving not very welcomed and when I took a look at my nails I was very disappointed!! Not only did they charge me 45 dollars for a fill but you can tell they just rushed through it. Came back for a shellac polish change. Made an appt the day before. They were very busy and extremely rushed- I think I had 3 people work in me in time I was there in between them working on others. They only let my hand stay in the lamp 20-30 secs in between coats or however fast they could paint the other hand. It was incredibly sloppy and there are bubbles all over my polish because it didn't set correctly. On the way out the girl checked my nails and said yeah I think they're good just don't do too much with your hands. But I thought that's what shellac was for so... another one on the do not go list for Monroe. read more

First off I will say it is a nice clean salon and I like the fact that the instruments are sterilized. Hence, the two stars. As for the pedicure, it was good with the exception that I had top coat left around my toenails. But I still had rough heels. The manicure was less than acceptable, I told the gal I liked my nails slightly rounded and not square....they were square. Also that I didn't want color. Usually that means just a top coat OR they buff the nails. None of that happened. Also my cuticles were ragged and dry right after I left. I will take some responsibility in that I was a walk in. Pretty disgusted with how I was just treated at blue ocean. I normally wouldn't give a "bad review" but this was just unsanitary and gross. While the man nail artist (I think his name was Cory) was using the nail filing machine, he cut my skin bad enough to bleed onto the table. He then proceeded to spray my cut with acetone and use glue to stop the bleeding (which I told him to stop TWICE and I was told no... because "he has to stop the bleeding"). To top it all of, the equipment that my blood was on, was not even sterilized, he just dropped in into a little cup of acetone. My nails looked fine, but I will never be coming back. Really hoping I don't get some type of blood born disease considering they clearly don't fully clean their equipment. I worked in a dental office and know how easily diseases can spread through blood. read more

I just left the shop got a pedicure with acrylic toes I had a chipped nail. The Tec had another girl put on the acrylic she didn't file the acrylic after it dried and went straight to applied the gel coat in layers my toe nails are different lengths and sizes and are cut up. I have been going here for several years now. Tami & Corey (Owners) area great and super friendly. Tami can multi-task like no other! and she does a really good job. also Victoria -- she is fabulous!!!! I would suggest they need to get more nail techs -- there's only a few of the girls that can do nails. It can get very busy at times and a little bit of a wait - but I enjoy going in and knowing that THEY know what I like and know who I am --- they have always always been super with me and taken care of me! Never again. Went here today for a pedicure with a friend. Actual pedi wasn't bad. The bad part was the end where they won't let you tip on your card and so you have to use the ATM to get cash out. So then there's a $2 fee for that. I handed her a $20 and asked for change and she just tries to hand me a $10 bill back. I asked for all the change back so I could make my own tip. They then tried to give me a $10 and 2 $5 bills. Then I asked for ones and they just look at me then go to the back and find some. Then there's the $.50 charge to use your card for your service. Seriously LOW CLASS establishment. I have no problem leaving a large tip for excellent service but frankly, this whole checkout process was terrible and even tipping 20% (as I did) felt generous. I told them this was ridiculous and they just looked at me. We both agreed we will never come back. read more

Been coming here since 2013. Very nice staff - and they really do a nice foot massage and take their time ... not like other places which just basically slather lotion on your leg and move on ... these ladies really work the oil into your legs and feet and spend time on the process rather than just whip through it to get to the paint. The place is clean and organized. The space is relaxing and the staff very interactive. mani and pedi always last a long time and they are very affordable. My husband even comes in and loves the experience and they are very accommodating. There was another couple who came in while we were there and they too were all smiles over the experience. I only wish they would allow you to tip them using your card - because we don't always have cash on us ... so unfortunately we have to leave and run to the ATM to get cash and come back. I went back for the first time in a while, Cory and Cami (the owners) greeted me like no time has past. So friendly and inviting! I decided to get a full set of acrylics. The wait wasn't long (since it was 10:30am.) They did a wonderful job. I didn't feel rushed or anything at all. The only thing I would suggest is that you come in at a non-busy time (morning or mid day during the week.) because when they do get busy, they work faster and don't do as a good job that they normally do. read more

HORRIBLE PLACE! I took my sister in for some pedicure pampering! We were seated at the same time and a young gal started on my feet. She worked well and it seemed to be a good place but then I noticed that no one was doing my sister's feet. The young gal worked on me for 30 minutes before anyone started on my sister and they rushed my sister's feet. I was asked if I wanted my nails cut and I said "yes! Short!" We got our color and went to dry! I sat for 30 minutes waiting for the color to dry. Once done, my sister and I left. That night, when I removed my socks, I saw that my color was smeared. It never dried! Three days later, I had to trim my nails due to in grown. This is not a good place to go to pay $30 for a pedicure and I tipped $10! Last time I ever go here again! I hate people speaking another language around me (old world me says that they are speaking about me or others around them) and this place they all speak something other than English and the English they speak is heavy accented. The job they did was bad (out of all the pedicures I have had, this one the worst and I am glad it was not the first one or I would never have a pedicure done again). My color did not last and the trim was very poor. I am looking for another place to do to in Monroe instead. Blue Ocean lost my future business of $360 a year plus tips. May not seem like much but this is only a minimum amount as I usually pay for a second person to go with me. Since they do not check YELP, they have no clue what money they could make! read more

I have been going here on and off since they opened 9 years ago and I am sad to say that it's about time for me to find a new nail salon. The quality of work and customer service has gone down hill. Let's start with their pedicure: They are supposed to put a sea salt tablet in the water before soaking your feet - they don't. The jet's in the soaking tubs don't work. They'll seat you for your appt., turn the water on and then don't come back to check to see if the water is the right temp and leave you there sometimes up to 30 minutes before they even get started with you - what's the point of an appt. if they don't stick to it? I've asked them to cut my cuticles short and next thing I know my nails are so short, they are sore and down to the nail beds... I've also had to ask them to fully remove the old polish before putting new polish on - as a customer you should never have to ask for this, putting new polish over half taken off old polish - gross! and of course the quality of your pedicure depends on how busy they are or how much time/effort they actually feel like spending on you that day. I've never had the same pedicure twice - and that's not a compliment. I've also seen one of the girls grab the steel cuticle pusher tool that she used on my toes and walked it over to someone waiting for a manicure and then used it on her nails - didn't clean it or anything! It just made me wonder where that tool came from before she used it on my toes!!! Manicure's - I always get shellac and every time I go in it feels like a fight to have to convince them that no I don't want my shellac filed off because it's terrible for your nail beds, they need time to soak off, when I finally convince them to let me soak them off they either come back in five minutes trying to get me to let them file it off or they just leave me for 20-30 minutes, that's when I usually just take the foil off and take off the shellac myself cause I'm sick of waiting for them. Depending on who does your nails you will probably end up with bubbles in the polish or a hair from one of their brushes - not a good look. Pricing: The prices really aren't that bad, they just need better service and quality of work. However I will say that since the prices are not listed anywhere they may vary depending on who does your nails. I've purchased the same exact services on several different occasions and have paid different prices - lesson: make sure you know the full price of your service before you even sit down in one of their chairs! The actual store used to be really nice but you can tell it has worn down over time, all it really needs is some TLC and much needed CLEANING!!! I also don't like that you have to tip in cash, no option to tip via card. They have an ATM machine in their shop that you can use to get cash out of if you want to spend another $2 for a convince fee that the shop is most likely profiting from. The owners are very nice and they actually do really good work. Victoria is also really good - they are the only one's worth seeing which means they are always booked so good luck. However it is concerning when I am starting to see more and more new girls working there whom I've never seen before and I see them arrive first thing in the morning in a big van all together - did they find these girls off the street from some labor ready corner who have fake cosmetology license? I've been coming here for 4 years since I moved out to the area. They do a great job, and are good at doing any nail designs I can find online. Their pedicures are very relaxing and they've recently added hot stone massage and wax treatment to their pedicure options. I've only had one waxing experience here and even though they got the job done is was not fastest and most painless one I've ever had. read more
