Upon arrival, I was informed at the front desk that my insurance was not accepted and that I would need to pay upfront. This information should have been communicated well in advance by phone, email, or even a voicemail so I could have made appropriate arrangements before coming in so early. The reason given was that their system showed an additional insurance under my profile with an unrealistic expiry date of 12/31/9999, despite my Medicaid coverage being current and valid. When I contacted Medicaid, they confirmed that I have full coverage and even asked the provider to call their dedicated line for verification. Unfortunately, the billing staff member named Nina refused to call, insisting she would not contact Medicaid and suggested that I may file a complaint against her if desired. I tried to explain that her role should be to assist patients, especially in resolving such administrative issues, but she remained unwilling to help. This level of indifference is deeply concerning in a healthcare setting particularly at an eye clinic, where timely care is critical and many patients, including seniors, come with urgent vision concerns. Because of this situation, I was left with no choice but to reschedule my appointment, which may now take weeks or months. I sincerely hope that the management reviews this incident and emphasizes to its staff that patient care and empathy must come before rigid procedures. In healthcare, communication and compassion are just as essential as clinical expertise.

Let me first say that it was my daughter's, not my own, appointment. Regardless, it will be the last time we ever EVER visit this location. Due to the sensitive nature of the problem, all I will publicly say is this. Anytime your 18, in high school daughter, comes back from an appointment... And the feedback received is, "Dad, the doctor didn't seem to care about my eyes, but was more interested in my personal life. I had to tell him I was in high school three times. I felt extremely uncomfortable"... Well that's cause for concern as a parent. I called the office, spoke with the office manager, and a while later the doctor (I use this term loosely) calls me back. He explained to me about how the appointment went (after speaking to his years of practice and professionalism). He then proceeded to explain to me how there were people around the entire time and nothing inappropriate was said. He then explained to me that this was a misunderstanding, reassured me that there were not two sides to this story... just his side. He then felt the need to further explain that my daughter had obviously misconstrued the entire situation and he apologized for her perception. Not sure how that works... but I am interested in understanding. After all of this, he then felt the need to highlight his wife's professional accolades. I wonder if his wife would care to better understand her husband's acute interest in the personal life of his 18 year female patients.

I came to this office couple years ago after getting referred by my eye doctor. I came again…read morerecently after getting referred again by my eye doctor (the doctor I saw has passed, but I was referred to another doctor). Prior to my appointment, I did and insurance verification and the front desk AND my insurance company said that the provider and office was in network with my insurance. So, my appointment was moved several times because the doctor was unavailable (understandable). When I came I for my appointment, I had the worst experience with the front desk staff. Every single word she said to me was "no". She first asked for my last name in an obnoxious way (ok, that's fine), second I gave her my insurance card and driver's license per her request and she goes "NO NO NO NO NO, we don't work with your insurance --its a platinum plus plan btw. I said that prior to my appointment I had made sure it was in network and was told that there would be a copay of $20 via voice-mail from the office. She said "NO NO NO". I then played her the voice-mail from their office stating that they are in network with my insurance and that there would be a copay. She then rolled her eyes and shrugged. She wanted me to fill out forms that I had already filled out (I had been a patient there 10 years ago, and also filled them out on their website beforehand and brought it in). She then proceeded to say her favorite word, "no" that it wasn't acceptable. After 10 minutes of hearing constant "no" we were instructed to wait for the doctor, who we could see pacing back and forth waiting for us. I was so turned off by the front desk encounter and frankly did not trust the office to provide a nice patient experience. So after about 5 minutes of waiting, I decided to cancel my appointment. I did not want to be a patient at this awful office. We told the "no" lady that we will be canceling our appointment and then she proceeds to say "ok" and demands us to take back our paperwork. To be honest, it was a relief to hear something different than "no". In either case, they lost a new patient, a former patient, and all my referrals. We didn't even meet the doctor. What an awful way to treat your patients. TLDR; didn't even meet the doctor because the front desk team member was just awful (her favorite word is no) and we decided we did not want to be patients of an office that has team members treat patients horribly.

He immediately performed laser eye surgery on my torn retina. I was terrified! By the time I left his office, I knew I was going to be ok. The kindest, gentlest, most intelligent doctor I have EVER had the pleasure of meeting! Dr. Kasi went the extra mile to call some friends in South Florida to make me a follow up appointment at one of the worlds best eye institutes. I have to say, they pale in comparison to the quality of care I received with Dr. Kasi. They are equally impressed by his work- and I have had no issues since! I'm not sure how I got so lucky to find Dr. Kasi at that moment, but I am forever grateful for him and his staff!! Do yourself a favor and go see Dr. Kasi!

They got me in within the hour, got me back with the doctor with barely a wait, and I was being seen by the doctor before my actual appointment time! The office staff was nice. Dr. Majlessi is amazing--she's very personable, explained everything as she went, answered all my questions, and I felt very at ease and right at home! Turns out I had MAJOR dry eye (a very common problem, turns out) so she prescribed some medicated drops and fake tears. I even had to call back about something I forgot to ask and I was able to talk directly to her and she calmed my fears. On my follow up visit three weeks later, everything ran just as smoothly and I was just as happy with both the staff and Dr. Majlessi. I can totally see how she was awarded a Top Doctor from Washingtonian. I'm actually sad that we're moving this summer and I won't be able to see her again!

However, after the appointment I experienced her loudly violating HIPAA by telling the receptionists what kind of eye exam needed to be scheduled for me next, while other patients looked on and were within earshot. Honestly, that royally pissed me off.

Typically when I go for my visit I get checked in and end up waiting for 15-20 min, then after they take me back to the first room and machine where they look at your eyes before putting you in the room to wait for the doctor another 20 min which is a bit annoying. When I visited 10/31 for my exam this year, I was on time and told the doctor was running 45 minutes behind so I just waited in my car (although there are places to grab a quick bite nearby) and when I got in I still had to wait another 10-15 min as she was going back and forth between patients. The staff is really nice, and the exam itself is comfortable so the time is really the only reason I took a star off. She's also very patient bc I am a bit sensitive with the bright light at the part of the exam when trying to look into my retina. I don't have glaucoma in my family and she asked me to return for an assessment, but I haven't gone - it just feels a bit odd but I appreciate her being cautious and proactive. I don't purchase my glasses or frames so I can't speak on that part. There is plenty of parking in the lot behind, or a few spots right in front. She has a clean restroom as well.
