Been coming to this vision clinic since 2019, totally forgot to schedule appointments in 2023 so the last time I was here was shortly after they got purchased by a PE firm. My experience this time was poor for the lens fitting exam and better the next day for the annual eye exam. For the lens fitting exam, it's been a while but I remember the time back in 2019 when I first came to See Clearly, it was a doctor who did most of the vision test (reading the letters, using the instruments to check 1 or 2 is better, and doing the pressure test), now that's all done by an assistant. Which is fine I guess, to free up Dr time to save money and see more patients. After the assistant got a prescription and came back with a pair of lenses for me to try, the right eye was seeing a lot crisper, the left side was better but not as crisp as the right. Assistant said he'll get Dr Williams to check. Dr. Williams came in and did the 1 or 2, 3 or 4 process again and I guess my eyes were performing differently, after we did all that came back to the same prescription that the assistant got. During this process Dr. Williams was very impatient, got really annoyed at me for asking to see the different settings again and you can just tell she was not happy by the tone of her voice that I wasted her time. I'm just seeing a much crisper image with the right eye than the left, it seemed like it can't be improved anymore. Wish she were more patient and more understanding, I hope it's just an off day. I saw Dr. Williams in 2022 and I had a great experience, I recommended my coworkers and partner to see her and See Clearly in general. I've only had good experiences with the other Drs here over the years. Can only imagine that now being owned by a PE firm the practice has to hit higher profitability goals and have to see more patients with same number of hours from the Drs. I'm sorry that there is more pressure, hopefully things will change for the better. I came the next day for an annual eye exam and Dr. Baveja was very attentive and understanding. read more

This is not a practice to use. I signed up 3 months ago for eye surgery scheduled for tomorrow morning. Over those months I asked if the pre authorization had come through and they brushed off my inquiries as being too soon. Today at 3 pm I received a call cancelling my surgery because they failed to timely ask for pre authorization and had not obtained it. Puzzling as the hospital had obtained it. They had no concern for the pre surgery tests and lab work I was required to timely have and pay for. Arranging transportation, pet care home help etc. just wasn't a concern for them. Several other patients were also impacted. Hope my warning helps you find a better practice that actually cares about patients. read more

After being patients here for two years we have ended our relationship with See Clearly. Here's why: despite never having been late for an appointment, See Clearly refused to see my daughter today. We left early and had plenty of time, but because this is Northern Virginia, there was a bad accident on Leesburg Pike, such that fire trucks were blocking BOTH sides of LP. We were trapped next to a curbed median with literally nowhere to go. Traffic came to a halt as fire trucks arrived, then police. We called See Clearly and they told us they have a 10 minute grace period. The arrogance of this! When we finally got there they refused to see her and I told them to cancel all appointments rather than reschedule. There was one person in the waiting room. We have never seen a doctor at See Clearly at the exact time of the appointment but have been made to wait for them. If they cannot accommodate you in such a situation, what is the point? My daughter had taken off work for the appointment as well. Big thumbs down from us. read more

Don't go here. Office experience is terrible. Waste of time and money. No one cares. It has been a month since I wasted my time going to the eye doctor there for follow up on eyelid surgery that didn't work as planned. The doctor was polite and responsive but didn't bother getting his staff to follow up with me, get my records from the practice he was at when he operated on me (right before he came to See Clearly), and get in touch to tell me how he wanted to proceed, as he and the staff promised they would when I went to see him at this office on May 20. (Also, I waited for an hour until the doctor came into the examining room - about an hour late). Despite repeated attempts they never called back or followed up. I can't stand when medical practices are like that. Don't waste your time or money with this practice. The admin staff including the customer relations staff are rude, unhelpful, unprofessional and fake when they are nice because they have no intention of following up. They don't value their patients or their patients time. I called to tell them I would be leaving a negative review and they STILL can't follow up. While the physicians are good, the administrative staff at the McLean location of this medical franchise are unprofessional, unhelpful, and inexplicably rude. A visit to the Department of Motor Vehicles is a far superior customer service experience. Or a coach seat on American Airlines. Or a prison root canal. If you must see one of these physicians, only visit the Virginia Hospital Center location, where excellent staffing meets the quality of the medical professionals. read more

You neglected to acknowledge the sarcastic comment your Dr made to me regarding "being sorry they couldn't have met me at the door because they were seeing other patients". A Dr. should not have been necessary to assist me in this situation. Honoring my refund was not a question. It was a given that I will receive a refund for 2 scleral contact lenses that were being returned to the manufacturer. My comments regarding what occurred at your office did not only "not meet my expectations", they would not meet expectations of any of your customers. My First Review ** 4 days ago The doctors in this office are apparently overworked because my experience with 2 of them is that they were seeing too many patients, one immediately after another, lacked patience and spoke condescendingly during my appointments. Recently, I had an appointment to pick up a new sclera contact lense. It became so painful an hour later, that I returned to the office requesting a small "plunger" instrument to remove the painful lense as quick as possible. The receptionist requested a clerk. I waited. Then, I asked if she could find someone to get the instrument I needed to remove the painful contact lense. She repeated that she had requested a clerk. I continued waiting. I noticed another woman behind a desk where appointments are scheduled and asked if she could help me? She reiterated that I needed to wait for the clerk. I continued waiting, and soon after asked to speak to the manager. She responded that she was the manager. Apparently, she went to tell the Dr about my request for a manager because the Dr appeared, looking irritated, and asked what I needed. The Dr briefly left and came back with the "plunger" I needed. She sarcastically stated, "I'm sorry we weren't at the front door waiting for you, but we have other patients we are seeing." When I responded, " just needed a "plunger" to remove the lense that was causing me so much pain." The Dr's response was, "the office staff do not know where the "plungers" are located." I removed the lense in seconds, relieved my pain and requested both sclera lenses be returned to the manufacturer and my payments refunded. I will not be returning to this office. Honestly, I do have a very challenging prescription and was highly recommended to this office group. I understand that everyone has challenging experiences going on in their lives, but the behavior I received from 2 doctors on your staff is not acceptable. read more

An absolutely terrible experience with See Clearly Vision and Dr. Tagayun. She was recommended to me for a needed corneal transplant by the optometrist at my local eyeglass store. I waited for months to get an appointment, then went to several appointments and purchased necessary (and expensive) medication. My surgery was supposed to be today, 11/20/24, but just a few days ago, they canceled it out of the blue, telling me that they thought that a different surgeon, in a different practice would do a better job. There was absolutely no medical reason for their decision. They didn't even bother to check if that surgeon was taking patients (she isn't). They wasted my time, and they wasted my money. My entire family made plans around this surgery and the anticipated recovery time. Now I have to wait months for a new appointment with a different practice. The bottom line is, if they don't believe in themselves and don't respect a patient's time, you should probably steer clear of them for anything more involved than getting a new pair of glasses. read more

I've been coming to Dr Wisecarver at See Clearly for 4 years and would highly recommend her and the professional staff at See Clearly. She helped fit me for a scleral lens when I suffered scarring on my cornea and could no longer see out of my right eye with traditional glasses or contacts. She helped restore my vision to nearly 20/20 corrected. She and her staff take the time to explain what they are doing and to answer questions. When I've had emergencies, I've always been able to be seen the same day, as they have several doctors working together. I'm not exaggerating when I say Dr Wisecarver and her team have restored my sight. There may be other doctors closer, but I tried several before I met her, and none had diagnosed my issue let alone developed a treatment plan to help restore my vision. read more

Last year I purchased a pair of Silhouette frames from See Clearly Vision in McLean. The frames were fine until my dog sat on them. It caused the frames to twist so badly that the wire keeping the lenses in broke, and one lens came out. I thought they were a lost cause. Before giving up on them, last week I took them to the new optician at See Clearly, Leila. She was amazing. She worked on them carefully a nd fixed them so well they look like new. It takes a special set of skills to work on Silhouette frames, and she is a master at fixing them. read more

This review will focus on this provider's unnecessary push of opioids on its patients based on my visit experience and NOT about the vision center's actual ability to do surgery. I have had recent eye issues and after speaking to a buddy in the same industry, he highly recommended Dr. Rajpal. I made an appointment but Dr. Rajpal was not available so I scheduled a consultation with another doctor. The entire first visit for a consultation was amazing. From convenience of the location to first time checkin. The doctor that did the evaluation was knowledgeable and spent time with me explaining the issue she found as well as the options I have. This included a deep dive into the pros / cons of the two options and what to expect before, during, and after the surgery. I told the doctor I'll have to think through the options and get back to the office on when I would like to move forward. After the consultation I was taken to a holding room where I met with one of the office workers. It seemed like their job was to get me to signup for surgery which I found to be strange. I had many questions about cost & what would be covered. It seemed like they didn't really have answers and suggested I call my health insurance provider to find out details. The entire post consultation procedure made me feel like I was at a car dealership where the car sales person takes you to the finance room after you have agreed on a deal (also known as the scam room). Very strange feeling to have at a doctors office. I thanked the office staff and said I will schedule the surgery after I think through the options. Couple of days after the visit, I started getting calls from CVS stating prescription is ready for pickup. After going to CVS & speaking with the pharmacist, I came to learn that See Clearly Vision had sent in an order for Opioids & anxiety medication. I rejected the prescription as I had no idea why an eye doctor would prescribe such highly addictive drugs. I called the office to find out why I was prescribed medication with no discussions with me. I was not able to get a clear answer from speaking with the office manager. I asked the manager to investigate the reason and find out how this could've happened. I never heard back from the manager or from anyone at See Clearly Vision. I would be on high alert about an office pushing opioids for no reason and without going over the drugs with the patient. After all, over 10 millions Americans were effected by Opioids crisis due to doctors pushing the drug on their patients. read more

From the first take-in, at the Rockville office, to their Arlington center, and to their MacLean main office, I've been happy with the doctors' technical competency and their patient handling and follow up procedures. Dr. Rajpal is not only a practicing doctor, but he teaches the subject at the Naval Hospital in Bethesda MD, as well as leads clinical trials at this center. So you know that these doctors are on the cutting edge of research and technical know-how in ophthalmology. In addition they are supported by an outstanding technical expert in Optometry who can fit you with exactly the most appropriate contact lens or glasses to help you function with good vision in Dr. Wisecarver. After suffering from dry eyes for years, I suffered bilateral corneal abrasions during a surgery in 12/2020. I found See Clearly and Dr Tagayun through a recommendation of a close friend. Dr Tagayun has quite literally changed my life!! I came in with bottles of drops and ointments. She took one look at me and suggested Tear Duct Plugs to help the dryness. I was skeptical (no other doctor had ever mentioned it) but I trusted her. The tear duct plugs have changed my life! I still take Xiidra and I have to get the tear duct plugs replaced if they fall out, but my eyes are so amazing!! The dryness is gone. I can tell when one falls out bc the immediate dryness (and my misery) returns. Dr Tagayun is incredibly caring, attentive, thorough, and such a pleasure! She is a treasure! So, thank you Dr Tagayun for helping me get much needed relief when other doctors didn't give me this option. I am eternally grateful! I have been coming here for years. This is one of the best run medical practices in the country. The facilities are state of the art, spotless, modern and pleasant. The real draw are the staff. Everyone is polite and friendly. The all exude an air of confidence. The most junior tech is light years ahead of anyone you will see in a chain eyeglass store. After making a full recovery in 1 week from the PRK surgery these folks did, I got to give them credit. Everyone at this company takes care of you - from the admin folks, to the surgery counselors, surgery technicians, and the surgeons themselves. I was that needy customer who asked a lot from these people throughout the process for things like an expedited timeline, technical documentation (for job related reasons), and a couple other things--and everything I asked for, they gave me and I can't thank them enough. The quality of their surgery and quality of their people and equipment is top tier and you don't want to cheap out on something as important as your eyes. Dr. Baveja and her surgery technician Sam plus one other lady who held my head for comfort did an amazing job and I am coming up on 20/15 vision now. Can't thank them enough! The surgery gave me anxiety in the moment, but they did and said all the correct things to make it go smoothly. I really felt like I was in good hands when i laid down under the laser machine. The surgery counsler Brandon Martin was a key player for me in getting this expedited timeline situated. That man is professional and extremely understanding when it came for planning and coordinating this surgery. He answered all of my questions and got me all the prescription documents for my eye drops no matter how complicated they got (i went back and fourth between the Costco pharmacy and my health provider for best prices on the drops - hint, use Costco trust me) his patience in doing so was really helpful. I am now in the follow up appointment phases post operation and recovery and each time I go in, they tell you what and when to do things at home and explain it in such a fool proof way to ensure you're all set. I had to get a cornea cross-linking procedure done to treat keratoconus that has been developing in my eyes. When I went in to get the treatment done on my right eye, I was very concerned. But the guy who performed the operation, Sam, was awesome. He made sure I was comfortable and relaxed, and made the whole thing fly by before I knew. This place ruined my vision, never admitted it, and didn't make it right. I went to them for routine cataract surgery for mild cataracts. I had two visits with Dr. T, but kept flunking the dry eye test, so the consultation for lens choice had to wait until I passed. I finally went on a day when Dr. T was too busy to see me, and had the exam with a vision specialist. I finally passed, and was told that she would call me later that day to discuss the pro's and con's of the four lens choices. Well, she never did, even though I called daily to speak to her. Finally, a bored surgical consultant called several days later to tell me that I had qualified for either of the top two (most expensive) lenses. I asked him if Dr. T had approved those lenses, and he said yes. I then asked him is there any reason why I shouldn't get the best lens, the trifocal lens. He then sarcastically said, "Why wouldn't you get the best lens?" The next time that I saw Dr. T was in the operating room. She technically corrected my astigmatism, and put the trifocal lens in my left eye. The next morning when I got up was a nightmare. My close up vision was gone, and I was dizzy and nauseous. I had no depth perception on my left side, and it felt like some irritant was in my eye. My eye kept twitching and I knew then that the lens was too overpowering for me. I also had four things working against my for the trifocal lens: I am petite, have light eyes, had dry eye, and irregular astigmatism. The doctor was aware of all of these things before she operated. I saw the doctor the next day, and was told that everything was fine, but that it might take 6-8 weeks to get better. Well, it never did. Every morning when I got up my eye would grab and latch on to something and start flashing. My eyes would be burning cinders at night from straining to see all day long, making sleep difficult. When one lens is corrected and the other one isn't, your brain is constantly working to make them work together. They never do, though, because one eye is talking to your brain in French, and the other eye is talking to your brain in English. I had Alice in Wonderland Syndrome, where objects closeup would spin and overwhelm me, such as at the grocery store or nail salon. I still had vertigo and canceled the surgery for my right eye, even though SCV's solution was for me to get the same lens implanted in my right eye. I had more visits with them trying contacts and glasses, neither of which worked. The worst part was that they never acknowledged my symptoms, just blaming it on Dry Eye. I tried to get second opinions from other Northern Virginia ophthalmologists, but no one would see me because they don't want to clean up someone else's mess. It also took 6 weeks to get my records from SCV. After doing a lot of research, I found a cataract specialist at John's Hopkins. On my first visit with her she immediately acknowledged my problem, and told my that I needed a lens exchange, a very risky operation after the first 4-6 weeks of initial surgery. I had repeatedly brought that up to SCV, but they kept discouraging me from doing it. So, 7 months after my first surgery I had the lens exchange at John's Hopkins in Baltimore. It required the cataract specialist and a retina specialist on hand in case the lens fell into the back of my eye. It was a success. I'm much, much better because the weird side effects went away, but my eye is still much worse than before I did anything. My vision is worse, I feel like I'm looking through a piece of wax paper, and my depth perception is still affected. But I give thanks every day to my doctor at JH for returning my life to a much more normal place. So, bottom line, never get the trifocal lens, only single or no correction. You could fall into the 5% like me who can't tolerate it. read more

I have to say I love Dr. Wisecarver and she has been a great help to me and my chronic dry eyes. She is someone very knowledgeable, seems to really care and is very helpful. I have been going to her for the past year and she is always a great person to speak with. I feel very comfortable with her. I'm giving a 2 star because the front desk is AWFUL. I mean they are completely rude, I'm sure I talk to the same girl each time. I think its like Misha, Ieshia, I can't tell. But she is the rudest one. She SIGHS when I ask her to reschedule or SIGHS if I ask her a question about my medication. You work for customer service and you are hating your job and are clearly showing it. Even when you are about to hang up, she says it like hmm ok bye in the meanest way possible. How is she still working here?!?! I really don't get it. The lack of customer service is zero and she is..sorry to say it but very bitchy and you can tell. Sometimes the other ladies are a little bit rude but this girl takes the cake. I see her every time I walk in, and even then she doesn't even say hi. She might stare at you with a fake smile like thinking "ugh another customer". I'm not saying all front staff are this way, I think the only nice one in the front area is the asian male. I wish they could replace her, they need to record the phone conversations! Claire, my surgery tech, was very reassuring and calming during the procedure. The billing specialist, Brandon, has been understanding and helpful, answering questions and taking the time to get me needed paperwork. The doctors were attentive and focused on providing good care. I have been a patient of Dr. Wisecarver at See Clearly near Tyson Corner for several years; they fitted me with Scleral Lenses. For my semi annual appointment I wear the lenses and drive from Fredericksburg; the trip usually takes sightly less than an hour. I am accustomed to waiting in doctor's office. My March appointment this year was scheduled for 10:50. As it is difficult to predict traffic I decided to leave an hour early; using my EZ Pass I arrived at 11:03. I went to the desk where I was rudely informed that anyone 10 minutes late would have to reschedule. I said I just drove 2 hours and it is 13 minutes past my appointment. The clerk said I would not be seen so I have to reschedule. So I returned to my car and drove the 2 hours back home. At home there was a message on my machine about rescheduling the appointment. I didn't because I was appalled at the rudeness and poor patient care. read more

My optometrist referred me here because I needed to have some calcium deposits removed from a cataract surgery I had. I called the office five times over the space of 90 minutes during their normal business hours and was always put on hold to await their scheduler. After holding for 5-10 minutes each time with no one answering, I called the sixth time and selected the option that let me connect with someone related to payments. They immediately picked up. I explained my needs and they were able to schedule an optometrist appointment in the next two plus weeks (which duplicates what I just had done), but were not able to schedule the laser surgery I needed. They suggested I call back and leave a message with the scheduler. I did, and now, 24+ hours later, I have yet to hear back from them. You decide if you think this is good patient support. I'm going elsewhere. read more

I had to see an eye doctor during the Covid crisis and after being in self-quarantining for 9 months, I was quite concerned about my safety. The staff at See Clearly is extremely careful and considerate. I have seen Dr. McCabe and Dr Combs. They are both very professional, knowledgeable and showed a great interest in me and my problems. I have to mention one of their staff, Sandra Acosta. She is absoutely fabulous. I had some appointment and prescritption issues. Sandra answered all of my questions and was sweet, friendly and determined to solve my problems. I truly appreciated all her efforts. read more

If I could give them a ZERO rating I would.... my recent encounter with front staff, was horrible and would never go back to this pace or recommend them! Staff has changed and customer service is sub par at best. To explain I took my mom for an appt, due to traffic and bad accident was going to be alittle late for her 11:10 appt, maybe set to arrive 11:20. So called them 10 min before actual appt time to let them know. They called me back and said since we cannot come on time and dr Williams had an emergency... they cancelled appt and rescheduled. I know things happen but no sincere apology or anything for almost wasting 90 mins in traffic and accident... didn't think 10 min to wait for us would be an issue these days! read more

AVOID this practice until they work out the kinks from the merger or acquisition they went through in November 2021. The communication systems are nonfunctional and the office is chaotically overbooked. I'm in the waiting room for an appointment that is 2 hours behind. I would walk away except that this is a post surgical follow-up. I was unable to reach my doctor for over a week for a pressing presurgical question. Dr Tagayun and Dr Wisecarver seem competent and attentive, and every staff member I've dealt with seems decent and reasonable, but the terribly managed system overall makes me feel I've put my eyes into the wrong hands. I don't really know how to evaluate an eye surgeon. For example, the website has a contact form and an online payment form as well as a patient portal, and none of these systems were functioning at all up until today. Look at the website to see for yourself if they are fixed. I mentioned this to maybe eight or ten people in the practice (including one practice manager when I was complaining) as long ago as October 29 and up until today and each time I got the same surprised "oh, sorry, I didn't know" which means there was no internal memo or discussion about this. The business management exists to support the clinical staff, but evidently there is nobody in charge. This practice needs to operate at 50% capacity until they get past the merger and get their systems working. The clinical staff need to realize that they are allowing management to create malpractice liability and rise hell. Also: after my surgery yesterday, I expected to get an emergency contact number in case I had complications, but the procedure is to wade through the main voicemail tree. Not good. I THINK I'm getting good care, but this does not create confidence. This is the first bad review I've put online about anything. This place ruined my vision. I went in for a standard prk surgery for near sightedness. the doctors overcorrected my vision to the point that I now suffered from both nearsightedness and far sightedness. Not only that but 6 months later they still would not tell me exactly how they screwed up or what they would do to fix my vision. I bounced from doctor to doctor trying to find one to help me fix this major problem. Now I cannot even see out of one eye. They completely ruined my life. read more

I went to the Georgetown location many years ago for a consult on an eye issue. What I can say is that your experience here, like many places, will depend on the doctor. The doctor I saw was dismissive and rude -- a huge waste of time. A few years later my optometrist recommended a doctor here by name, Dr. Hoang. I've been seeing Dr. Hoang for the past view years for a scar on my cornea due to a cold sore that appeared in my eye instead of my lip (the usual place). On a recent visit I asked for a dry eye test, and since I'd been complaining about dry eyes for the past few years and OTC eye drops weren't helping, Dr. H prescribed Restasis. The Restasis was too cost-prohibitive and treated the symptoms and not the cause itself so I went back in for tear duct (punctal) plugs. I was informed the whole time about the procedure and was made to feel very comfortable. I didn't even feel the plugs go in and they started to help immediately. The only reason See Clearly is only 4 stars is because I've had to wait very long before (over an hour!) for a routine appointment, and I've had issues in the past with book-keeping. Otherwise the staff is very nice and communicative! I would definitely recommend Dr. H for any and all eye-ball issues! read more
