Disappointing and Potentially Dangerous Service Experience - A Loyal Infiniti Customer
I debated whether to write this review or contact Infiniti's corporate headquarters directly. Ultimately, I decided my experience needed to be shared. I am not seeking compensation or anything in return. My only hope is that the next woman or customer who visits this dealership receives better service, greater attention to detail, and more consideration than I experienced.
As a loyal Infiniti customer who has owned ten Infiniti vehicles, I have always trusted the brand's quality and service standards. Unfortunately, my recent experience left me extremely disappointed and concerned for my safety.
I traveled nearly seven hours from Jacksonville, Florida, to Troutman, North Carolina, for a weekend retreat. After arriving Thursday evening, I woke up Friday morning to discover one of my tires had only 17 PSI. Fortunately, a gentleman near our Airbnb helped inflate the tire and pointed out a staple or nail embedded in it.
I drove to the Infiniti dealership and explained my situation, including that I had purchased my vehicle less than a year earlier and had tire protection coverage. The service advisor asked for documentation because Infiniti uses multiple warranty providers and also questioned whether I had purchased my vehicle from their dealership. After reviewing my paperwork, he confirmed my coverage and assured me they would take care of the issue.
Later, the advisor informed me they had found a nail, then corrected himself and said it was a screw. He explained that they would patch the tire.
I specifically requested a new tire, explaining that I was traveling alone, nearly seven hours from home, and concerned about my safety. He assured me that a patch would be sufficient because the screw was located in the center of the tire. Trusting his professional judgment, I agreed.
After the repair, the dealership provided a complimentary car wash, which I appreciated. I signed the paperwork and returned to the Airbnb, believing the problem had been resolved.
The following morning, I discovered that the exact same tire was completely flat, with my vehicle sitting on its rim.
My friend contacted the same gentleman who had helped me the previous day. Once again, he graciously assisted us. After inflating the tire, he showed me that the same staple or nail he had identified the day before was still embedded in the exact same location.
This raised serious concerns about the quality of the work performed. Either the tire was never properly repaired, or the technician repaired one puncture without thoroughly inspecting the tire for additional damage or confirming that it was holding air.
Regardless of what occurred, this was unacceptable and potentially dangerous. Imagine what could have happened had I been driving alone at highway speeds, nearly seven hours from home, when that tire lost air again. The consequences could have been catastrophic.
I immediately contacted the service advisor, who instructed me to return to the dealership. This time, they replaced the tire with a new one.
While I appreciated finally receiving the replacement, what disappointed me most was the complete absence of an apology, acknowledgment of the seriousness of the situation, or explanation of what went wrong.
As a woman traveling alone, I expected my concerns to be taken seriously, particularly after explicitly explaining my circumstances and requesting a replacement tire during my initial visit.
I understand that mistakes happen. However, exceptional customer service is demonstrated by how a business responds when something goes wrong. A sincere apology, acknowledgment of the issue, and reassurance that steps would be taken to prevent a similar incident would have made a significant difference.
Having purchased ten Infiniti vehicles, I find this experience especially disappointing. However, no customer should have to be a longtime, loyal customer to receive professionalism, quality service, and genuine concern for their safety.
Again, I am not seeking compensation, reimbursement, or special treatment. I simply hope this experience encourages the dealership to reevaluate its service procedures, quality-control practices, and customer care standards.
My request is simple: Please treat the next woman traveling alone--or any customer--with the respect, professionalism, thoroughness, and consideration they deserve.
Customer safety should never be an assumption. It should always be a priority.
I sincerely hope no other customer has to experience something similar, especially when the outcome could have been far more serious. read more
