When the owner mentioned it, I was very disappointed, but once we were there, I was so happy with the opportunity. With any B&B, you're staying in the main house, having idle chit chat with other guests, and sometimes hear people in other rooms. The cabin, you have none of this, just perfect tranquility, silence, and isolation. The owners stocked up the fridge for us and we can have breakfast in our own cabin. It was more of a continental breakfast, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, granola, etc..., but it was so pleasant. The cabin is located about 500 feet from the main house and several miles from the main road, and about 8 miles from downtown Traverse City. You really get in the woods feeling without being to far from the city and you have a river flowing through your backyard. It is a really nice place and I would gladly stay there again.

Keep in mind that there is no AC for those few days in Michigan that you may need it. Also all rooms do not have adjoining bathrooms. Some rooms must use the common bathroom down the hall. The rooms were amazing and the grounds were wonderful to walk around, but above that, the service was fantastic. Before I left, I felt like I had become a close friend. Alice, who runs the place was so wonderful and the breakfast she made was the best I have had. In addition, her son Charles was one of the most interesting people I have met. Charles manages the property and takes care of the grounds, Bee Hives, Chickens, etc. Each place you looked there was something interesting; from the apple trees to the flowers all the way down to the rocks who were decorated by some very talented grandchildren. I not only highly recommend this B&B, I plan to go back every year to have our sales meeting.

They were accommodating to us on very short notice and served as our base for exploring the Leelenau Peninsula. Our room was comfortable with a nice queen size bed and we got some wonderful sunset photos off of the back deck over looking some of their 12 acres. The sun was beautiful as it dipped below the tree line. Breakfast with good coffee was homemade by Scott and included his delicious french toast in a caramel vanilla egg wash.

This is very close to the Interlochen Center for the Arts and a great place to stay. They are have a friendly lab and a cat so you should like animals. They breakfasts were wonderful. Denise prepared apple bread for us fresh in the morning. We had some fantastic Eggs Benedict on our first day and waffles on the second day. I wish I had taken more pictures. The only this I would caution is that if you are arriving after dark, it can be hard to see this place on M-13. Look for the red sign. We will be staying here for our next visit to Interlochen/Traverse City.
