Me and my BF moved in, and it felt like we were living in a hell hole. This was a year ago we moved in but moved out a couple months before out lease was up in September. "John" the front desk guy-horrible service and doesn't understand how to do his job at all. He also seems like he thinks he's above everyone and racist. We had an issue with our air conditioning where it stopped working. Mind you it was 105-115 outside and we had no air conditioning. and the heater kept turning on. We had gone to go clean the air conditioning filter and there was Black, White, Green and blue mold in the air vents and there was so much hair stuck in there as well. The screws came out of the ceiling and were rusty, the whole thing almost took out my bf. We took pictures and showed john, and he didn't care at all-he told us to duct tape it back up and that they couldn't do anything about it. We showed him the mold, and he just looked away. I have an autoimmune disease (MS), So that is very deadly to me, and I ended up getting very sick from it. We told John again and nothing. The Maintenace tried to come up to our apartment without us knowing and tried to enter without our permission, It seemed like they might have, and our stuff was moved around like they were looking for something. I went back down telling john that we can't stay here cause of the mold and i gave him (handed him directly)-Photos of the mold and broken screws and how the huge vent was hanging down from the ceiling and gave him our notice and gave him a summary on my disability and why I can't stay here or I will end up in the hospital again. He took the papers and set them to the side and didn't care to look. We broke the lease and moved out and he continued to add more money onto our stuff and then threaten us that we would have to pay 2000+ more dollars to get out and shit. "John" doesn't care about the people he only cares about the "Property image" and his "Precious BMW" He's a coward and he is horrible. Last but not least, the homeless people...Like talk about being a gated community but the gate is always unlocked, and I had older men follow me to my apartment and watch me go in and then walk up the stairs and knock on my door...Not safe at all. Our AC stopped working when it was over 100 degrees, and they did not care so we had to book a hotel stay. Not only did they take ages to fix it, they did not want to even waive the rental fee for the days we had to live elsewhere. Other maintenance in our unit were deemed 'less urgent' and took weeks to months for any help.

They've refused to reword or remove one of them, with all kinds of convoluted explanations as to why. I work as a legal secretary - these people barely understand how contracts work, or else they're very good at playing dumb. The extra charges and utilities also fluctuate wildly. You'll pay for common area gas, building fees, an electricity fee (on top of the separate bill you'll get from APS), and more. I've been given the run around for several months now when questioning their math and their lease terms. In my review of the Mark Taylor property I rent with, a rep responded to my review with more empty corporate talking points and ask me to call a number. Wound up being the same office that has been giving me the run around. If you decide to live here, question absolutely everything in the lease and don't trust their staff to provide an honest or accurate answer. Their only mission is to get you to agree to and sign off on their predatory terms. Update: in response to the comment left by the community manager - I have been connecting with you people directly for MONTHS now. No one can answer my questions and concerns about the vague language used in your lease and the misleading responses provided by your onsite staff, and they won't refer me to anyone who can. The staff, not management, but the actual leasing consultants are all amazing. They always worked diligently whenever I had issues which were not much and always professional. The maintenance staff was so professional and always were on time when they said they were going to be at the apartment to fix an issue. Kudos to a great team. Once again, I'm not talking about management. My rating above as a three is due to the staff amenities and all that this community has to offer. Now why I didn't give it. A five star rating is the time that I moved out. I followed the checklist as provided by the leasing office. Did my own paint touchups and so forth. I am a clean freak so of course I made sure the apartment was completely clean when I returned the keys. I got a huge bill after moving out saying that the apartment needed to be completely repainted. I have a video that I have submitted to this company pictures that I took before and after my move out and they still say that the apartment needed to be completely repainted. It's ridiculous. The fees that these apartment companies charge are ridiculous. I will never rent an apartment with Greystar again. For that reason alone, I would not recommend this apartment community. Nobody seems to discipline their kids to be quiet, and the screeching continues throughout the day and often into the night. The walls and windows are extremely thin, so every sound carries directly into the apartment. There are many adorable pets, but some dogs (majority are large,) are kept on balconies and bark at everyone and everything, which adds even more noise. I have reached out to the office by email about these issues, but nothing has been done to improve the environment or an official adjustment. The police have been called several times for noise complaints, and security rarely checks on anything when you call and were even confused about the complex I called from. There is also nothing in the folder they give you that discloses quiet hours so do not expect them. The unit is still new and the management may be in their infancy, but the lack of structure is noticeable. Very friendly people but if things continue to go down as this apartment ages I see a lot of complaints in the future. I also recommend avoiding units near the grass areas because people gather there and blast music, and it travels easily. Lots of kids running around which is great if you want community but if you don't have any it feels more like a disturbance. Outside units are the way to go if you want a more private experience. You won't hear anything at all aside from the occasional noises from neighbors, but if you decide to live right by the grass area, you're in for constant noise and yelling from outside. If you don't mind the noise too much, and again, I get that apartments will have sound intrusion from time to time but this is a recurring daily theme that disturbs its residents. Frequently hints of marijuana scents lingering around if you're bothered by that which I am not personally but some people don't feel the same. Parking is with constant strangers taking up free spaces especially during the weekend that you can't find parking. No other review has been brutally honest with the cons but I've been here for almost 2 weeks and I already feel turned away by the complex with my experience. The weekends are dreadful because that's when the most outside rampant activity happens for this sort of ordeal. I'm a bit disappointed considering this is my first apartment but there is a lack of consideration and courtesy from neighbors here.
